There's a flicker of sympathy in him, but it immediately clashes against the instinct for caution – could that be an act? What would the point of all this be if it was? What option makes most sense right now, what does the meager evidence he has support?
It's making him tired just thinking about it. He can't really blame Shuichi for feeling that same way, if they are somehow in the same boat.
