The first, and also partially the second. Humans find places they love and want to remain so easily, places and people they would lay their lives down for. But Wizards are long-lived, and some of us even nigh-immortal, and we struggle to find a place we can belong.

We may have all the power in the world, but what use is it if we have nothing truly worth protecting with it? A human has so little compared to us, yet they will fight with every fiber of their being to remain. I may have my brother, and other Wizards their pride, but I believe humans are far stronger than my sort could ever imagine.

[And he loves them for that, he really does. They're as fascinating as an ant colony.]
