( for norton, the overlap and blending between the memories of his life before and the "memories" of his life at the school only serves to highlight the stark contradictions between them. while being trapped isn't necessarily anything new, being trapped in a school certainly is. in fact, being in a school at all is. that's beside the point though—the point is that norton looks just about as out of place here as he feels.
so it shouldn't really surprise him when eventually another student notices the way he stands out. or at least, that's his assumption as to why he's the one who's been noticed all of a sudden.
that said, for another "trapped" person, norton doesn't seem so bothered. with a calm demanour about him, his expression reflects a rather benign curiosity. )
