WHEN: Various dates in April; first prompt is before the murder discussion, second prompt is after.
WHAT: Regain related shenanigans!! She's also trying to get into the student council room, too. It's probably fine. Also if anybody wants to do wildcard options, there's that, too.

↳ option one. [ locker area / april 18th / early morning ]
- [Inaba has a tendency to head to the locker areas in the early hours of the morning, mostly not only to blend in with the crowd and see if there are any changes to the faces that she sees so that she can denote that.
But what she also winds up finding is the black cat, playing with something...
...and it's dizzying, as she watches it, her hand on her head as if she's almost about to stumble. But then, it leaves the item, which seems to be coated in blood.
And she stops, freezes, catches her breath when the cat leaves her be and she just... looks at the item in still shock silence before her eyes widen even more at the familiarity.]
... Eh?
[She doesn't realize that her mouth was moving as she speaks those words, crouching down as she picks it up carefully.
Of course, holding something covered in blood --
That's probably going to get a few eyes, isn't it?]
↳ option two. [ near the student council room / april 26 / after school ]
- [After hearing everything that has to be said with the whole murders and such, Inaba knew what she had to do.
Seeing is believing, after all, and well...
Trusting others never came easy. The problem is that she doesn't have the key to the student council room, and she's not the type of person to actually ask, out of potential suspicion, but she might have to at some point.
But for now, she just lurks in a corner, wondering if anybody else will make the attempt to go in.]
↳ option wildcard.

Inaba-san, what's wrong?

[Her words don't come out, even as her hands are trembling, still holding the bloody pendant in her hands before trying to smile it off.]
It's nothing. I'm fine.
[It's fine.
She just quickly puts the pendant behind her. No blood here!!]
no subject
I'm quite fine, thank you very much.
no subject
Okay. ( not really, but she has a plan. ) Oh, but it looks like somethings all smudged- let's get you washed up.
( with an authority nene might not actually have, she gently tugs inaba up and towards the bathroom. if a mess remains when she's done, she'll clean it up herself. for now, she's going to try and navigate this without drawing attention, or pressing in a hard way. )
no subject
Although she finds herself looking a little awkward as she's tugged a bit, although she keeps her expression even, in spite of her hands slightly shaking but not wanting to let go of the pendant.]
...
[She sighs.]
Alright.
[To the bathrooms it is!!]

[Her voice is rather dry as her eyes narrow ever so slightly.]

If nothing is the matter, than you can mind my nosy regard of being just that. However, if something has bothered you. I understand we are not on good terms, but there is always a starting point into building something more.
no subject
No one else is in here, Inaba-san, you're okay now. ... Can... you tell me what happened?
no subject
You're okay, she says.
...No, she's not okay. Not in the slightest bit. But she doesn't say that, instead smiling it off because like always, she has to lie to protect herself.
She can't have people worry, or be concerned over her problems. She can't be seen as weak. Not in a place like this.]
I'll be fine. [It's a weak answer, ignoring the question.] It's not important, anyway.
no subject
[Her voice is immediate, clipped and absolutely direct.]
So there's nothing to build.
no subject
( she perceived it, sorry inaba. )

I don't know what you're talking about.
2, this takes on a whole new context after the kouji stabbing
Except instead of throwing her body weight at the door or taking out improvised lockpicks, she pops the cork on a vial of sand... which takes fluid shape and flies into the keyhole, trying to fit the mold of the lock to turn it.
While it struggles in vain, Ritsuka startles, then turns at the lurking Haibara.]
Oh, hey.
Um.
You're not going to snitch, right?
no subject
[ She answers calmly, shifting awkwardly from one foot to the other. ]
And yes - I should get going. My classes are on the third floor, after all.
no subject
Inaba-san, I know we don't know each other well, but you're clearly shaken up. I want to help.
no subject
"I want to help," she says.
... since when did she get so weak that she's basically transparent...? Even as her fingers tremble she grips the pendant tightly behind her back, shaking her head as she stares into the bathroom mirrors. ]
And how exactly would you do that? A person like me - [ There's the implications there, of something nasty underneath the surface. Disgust. Self-loathing. Hatred, directed inwards. She shakes her head. ] No. It really doesn't matter. Whatever you saw, just forget about it. "Help" isn't necessary for me. You should be giving that to someone who really deserves it and can actually use it.
no subject
I can listen. I can talk and distract- We're all here together, Inaba-san. I can't sit idly by and let you just... shoulder this on your own. We have to support each other.
( but then... she really can't force inaba to accept her or her help regardless, can she? )
no subject
[ She snaps, almost instinctively out of frustration as her fingers grip even tighter at the still bloodied pendant behind her back, almost too tightly. As if her nails could bleed into the skin.
But then she sighs, shaking her head. ]
Sorry... I know. I know that we have to help each other, but... distracting isn't going to cut it. Distracting is just running away from any problems, and I'm not...
[...]
Maybe I should go. Classes are going to start soon anyway.
[ As if she actually needs them.
She doesn't. ]
