[After exams are done on the 20th, there's a buzz as every PDA on the network simultaneously has something pop up on their screens: one of a variety of cute ASCII cats.
There's some text underneath them: 'Press 9'. Doing so changes the cat you have, although they'll start to repeat after a while, there's only so many of these.
The network can still be accessed, because this would be a very bad time for people to not be able to swap notes, but it's possible there's some relatively harmless glitches that didn't get ironed out.]
