[He comes up closer to the screen, being so far away feels... wrong, somehow. Like it's not in his sprite set. It's easier to render this way. He feels bad for being relieved... Maple's scary when she's mad, but Hiyori is scarier... but he shouldn't think that way about a friend, should he?]
He must be working on something really important, ehehe...
[Wonder what it is... he can be good at keeping questions to himself and not pestering people. He'll find out when Hiyori wants to talk about it... for better or worse. Right now... it's nice to see somewhere new that's not the inside of the security room, the cushions and windows and colours. He stays facing forward, closed and waiting smile on his face, but he's drinking in the details of the camera and saving them away. It's different knowing he's here, right now, resting on top of something, as opposed to a live feed from somewhere entirely else in the building. It's like a little holiday!
Unease is so constant a companion as to fade into normality. He has memory of being other places, having limbs and hands and a heartbeat... but he's an AI now. If he thinks it's cool then there's no record of anything else.]
( it is a nice view—scenic even if perhaps not entirely true to life. the icing that lines the corners, where ceiling meets wall meets floor, and dripping down here and there as if melted. sprinkles adorn the furniture here and there, but the vibe at least, remains the same; saccharine and sweet, and perfectly suited to a girl like maple. it's not the environment, but the words he says that bring a troubled expression to cross her face. )
Well, it is coming up soon, after all. So scary...
( she says it matter-of-factly, but of course a participant—an obstructor—would need to know the rules in order to fulfil her role. it's different for shin, but her anxieties are clear either way... it seems that at the very least, whatever work approaches for him, it must be dangerous to warrant such concern.
there's a moment of thought, and maple's eyes lift to the screen, expectant worry furrowing her brows. )
[He's hoping none of that gets in his keyboard... well it's not his, technically, but since he's currently in it... that basically makes it his body, right? It's just gross to think about. Not to mention if anything stuffs up the fans it'll be so hard to think in general... he'll have to turn off or overheat otherwise and he kind of wants to stay here and running for as long as possible.
There's not really anything he can do about it, so he should stop worrying... Maple's speaking, it's not good to ignore a friend. There's only one thing she could be talking about...]
A-ah... I'm sure you'll do fine! And Hiyori too... he's clever. He probably has all sorts of plans... He's been looking forward to this for so long, hasn't he?
[He thinks about the times when Hiyori is sweeping around the room, eyes sparkling. He doesn't think about other times. He doesn't think about the people who are definitely not going to be fine... there's nothing he can do about that either.]
I-it does sound scary, though...
[He tries to reach up to adjust his scarf and it... feels strange, like a motion he shouldn't be used to doing. There's nothing stopping him, he's got a sophisticated enough model for it, but... it feels like more should be happening, that a response should be happening that isn't, and it's a little discombobulating. On the outside, those aforementioned fans pick up a little, whirring. He's not glitching, is he?]

Do you think things will turn out okay, Shin?
