Their goal is to attain infinite power and knowledge from Henir, not to trap people in illusions. If they wanted living sacrifices, they'd just take them by force. Also, if you're an enemy of the cult and they were able to capture you, why not just kill you? Why capture entities of the void only to place them in the same illusion as ordinary humans? It makes no sense.
