It's time for a FAMILY MEETING!

Who: Everyone!
When: May 11th, 6 PM
Where: Class 1-B (Gaming Club Items have been stored safely)
What: It's time for a family meeting! Because seriously some things need to be DISCUSSED.
WARNINGS: Death and murder, discussions of cannibalism

After a night of a feral cat losing it's goddamn mind, a day of half the adults and several students looking absolutely exhausted and more, and the end of the auction, clearly something is up. Plus, there'd been plans to investigate certain things after the last meeting that never had been elaborated on. So this time, Nene takes things into her own hands. So once again, transfer students will find a note in their lockers requesting their presence at Class 1-B at 6 PM, after everyone else has gone home.

Even if last time was... kind of a mess.

Is she desperate enough to enact a speaking ball? ... Not yet. But in her pockets is a brand new NERF gun and five darts.

So she unearths the cardboard jail, set up around some desks in the corner, but otherwise clears the board and sets out pieces of chalk... but hoo boy, does she look kind of miffed? And it doesn't even have anything to do with Hanako-kun cracking up at Gay Baby Jail. He'll understand soon enough.

On the board is several things in chalk- "LAST NIGHT", "NEW THINGS" and "FROM LAST TIME" with lines underneath, like she's perparing to take notes. Thankfully, there is more than one piece of chalk however.

[Not that Shoto wants a real leader here since he's thinking that making a leader would just invite murder of that person. This place was too much...]

Hmm... they're a lively bunch, aren't they?

( as if komaeda wasn't out there causing problems not too long ago, but he's long since cooled down and is acting like he hasn't done anything wrong. ) I'm not good with noisy, crowded places either... but if this shows me their hope, I'll do my best to take part.

( he looks at the other, nodding. )

[He will... not call you out just yet. Since calming down did happen.]

Hope? Why would you want to see their hope?

Because that's the only thing that matters, if they didn't have hope... nothing they do would have meaning.

( of course, that goes for the other too as komaeda points at him. )

I don't have any reason to lose hope. The world I came from was... worse than here.

[And getting worse each day. Can he go home now and save people?]

( wait, you got komaeda's attention. )

Tell me, what is your hope?

( hope is a very important aspect to him, and you know, if the other has information he's not saying. )

Your world must be overridden with despair... How terrible... but if you can grow strong through something like this...

My hope is defeating the villain's and restoring society.

[If that was at all possible.]

I don't know if it is despair. Everyone is willing to fight, there's just no unity.

You'd know if something rotten as despair had managed to sink its fangs into your life...

( he doesn't sound too pleased about it either, it's this bitter tone he carries as he speaks about it. )

If that's your hope... then I do wonder, if it'll help the one's here who are just as lost. ( because as komaeda keeps speaking, the other seems to have a general idea of how both hope and despair works. and it's actually surprising, that's a first outside of anyone that's not an ultimate. )

[He was close to despair at one point. Hope in the form of a green haired classmate kept that from being a thing. He does wish Midoriya was here sometimes.]

Without my quirks, I don't know how helpful I can be here.

Quirks? ( that's a little interesting, he's never actually heard the term used out of what it is generally. ) Is that a sort of talent?

( komaeda doesn't really say that term to most people, rather, he gauges how strong their hope is, and if they'd be useful to the cause. he does find the other to be different, but he's unable to tell why yet, but his hope does factor into this. )

There's plenty ways of being useful... to help those strive further along at the expense of your hope. ( he glances around the room, and then his eyes fall back on the other. ) I'm sure we can find that out together.

Quirks are a mutation that give people abilities.

[Seeing as how Bakugou is here, too, this can be easily corroborated if it sounds too outlandish.]

... I have to give up hope to help others? Should it be boosted if I help others?

Is that what you're concerned about? Yep, it'll do just that, but didn't you say you didn't know useful you'd be?

( he smiles, pressing an elbow into the table so he can rest his cheek into the palm of it. ) Why not sacrifice yourself for them? Unless... you're changing your mind.

.......... Is he for real? Shoto blinks and stares for a solid minute. How did they go from hope to this?]

That's not how hope works...

Why is that? Are you lying to me... you haven't even told me what type of quirk you have.

( komaeda prods again, not too rough, but enough to be annoying. it's his response that makes komaeda pause for a moment, staring at him, and then he chuckles softly. )

I know exactly how hope works! As long as you all can believe in it, down to the very core of your hearts... a path will open. ( retracting his hand, he points at a few people within the room. ) What you said moments ago, your hope isn't strong at all... it's rather weak, but if you can overcome what limits you, you'll be able to shine as bright!

( he nods. )

Besides, from what I said, it makes you want to prove me wrong, doesn't it? If you don't want to give your life, then live with them!

[Thank you for stopping. Shoto was about to get up and move away.]

I'm going to be a pro-hero. I'll give people hope by saving them, not dying for them. Dying can make people fall into despair faster than giving them hope.

[HASN'T HE BEEN LIVING WITH PEOPLE THIS WHOLE TIME??? This is a conversation that is turning into a nightmare.]

That sort of hope, I'd like to witness it... ( listen, now he really has komaeda's attention now. ) I've heard, that's why I can't be too judgmental... but I can feel that some hopes are stronger than others.

( he laughs though, staring at the other from his statement. while that is true... )

What if dying was the only way to give them hope? Sacrificing yourself for the sake of others... It's not wrong.

( believe him, he wouldn't want to feed into despair either. ) As long as you don't die a despair-filled death, as long as you know what you're doing for them is right...

There's something Shoto learned from TV once. It wracks his brain till it pops up like a lightbulb.]

[He'd like to not be part of that cult, please.]

Despair is meaningless. ( shaking his head, he returns back to what he was before. smiling, calm, as if that didn't bother him at all. )

I want to see the outcome between hope against hope, because hope will always destroy despair. If to see hope there needs to be despair, then so be it... because we already know what will win in the end!

( he thinks about it, and laughs it off. ) Simple as that. ( he must sound insane. )
