THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE A BLANKET FORT SLUMBER PARTY

When: May 22nd (Saturday) after 6pm and the following morning
Where: Class 3-D
What: it's time to heal from all the chaos and murder with a blanket fort slumber party, hell yeah hell yeah

Sometime after school has fully closed for the day and everyone else has gone home, a sign is put up on the door to 3-D. In rounded letters and surrounded by drawings of flowers and a couple cartoon cats, it reads:

BLANKET FORT CONSTRUCTION ZONE
slumber party @ 8pm
all are welcome!
(rule breakers will be sent to JAIL)
... if you show up early, everything might still be in the process of being set up, but by 8pm most of the desks and chairs in the room have either been pushed to the sides or stacked strategically in the middle to form mighty fortress walls. These are, of course, topped with blankets for cover, because it wouldn't be a blanket fort without blankets. Blankets are a limited resource at the school, so it's recommended to bring your own if you don't want to share a fort with someone else. Or maybe just steal a big scrap of fabric from the art room. Close enough, right?

Aside from the obvious arrangements at the centre, there is an un-blanketed pair of desks set aside for snacks. Nene made cookies, and Clamor has put out a bowl of healthy nuts and fruit (as if anyone would actually take those over the cookies). For drinks, there are a few bottles of juice and one pot of (thoroughly filtered) tea and a few cups to use. A small folded sign at the table politely reads "Don't be greedy."

If you are greedy, or if you harass anyone else just trying to have a good time, you risk being sent to... gay baby jail™. It is, as always, a cardboard box situated in the farthest corner of the room, and guarded diligently by only the most fearsome of dads and buff teenagers. You have been warned.

There is also a second cardboard jail cell on the opposite corner of the room, which is not labelled (yet). The inside is absolutely covered in scratch marks, since it's the same box that was used to catch the cat earlier in the month... but now it's jail 2: jail harder. It is reserved for criminals who cannot be allowed to collaborate during jail time, and you know who you are, please just behave yourselves.

This is meant to be a slumber party, so eventually, an amount of slumber will be expected. Luckily it's the weekend, so everyone is welcome to sleep in for as long as they want... just don't sleep in too late, unless you want to get stuck helping with clean up.

This is meant to be something of a break from the usual death and despair of murderschool, so please don't do any actual murders in this log that is literally the lowest bar i can ask of y'all. Put warnings in your threads as needed! General chaos is fine, but characters that cause too much of a disturbance will be manhandled and sent to gay baby jail™. You have been warned... twice!!

ICly the fort construction and party is being arranged by Clamor, Noah, Sidney and Nene, but basically anyone who wants to pop in and help out is welcome to, and CR may have been asked to join/help out in advance. If you need an excuse for your character to come, someone else could've dragged them there to chill—just ask!

[ He takes Rika's hand in his so he can hold the rock steady in her hand, and takes her other hand to curl her fingers so only the pointer one is left straight out, helping her guide it around the rock, tracing that white band. ]

she wants to say something, anything, about the nail, but he's grabbing her hands and doing something with the rock, and —

It's a wishing stone. You make a wish, trace that line all the way around with your finger, give the stone to somebody else...

[ clasps her hands around the stone, clasps his around hers, ]

And the wish is to come true. Mine did.

Huh... ( she blinks, a little surprised, glancing down at the stone, her hands still in his. a wishing stone, huh?

it'd be nice if it was that easy.

looking back up, she tips her head to the side, now curious. )

What was your wish, Senpai? ( if it's already been fulfilled, he can say it, right? )

To get to hold your hands. [ ... ] Just kidding. [ He doesn't let go, though ]

It's not as straightforward a wish as that. I'm kind of embarrassed to talk about it...

[ Hmm... okay. Blanket forts are a tight squeeze, though, so he goes ahead and crawls in first, turning around so he sits with his back to the wall and legs out stretched and arms open. Come here. There's lap space. ]

in the other hand, it's literally nothing she's ever felt before, considering how close together they were pressed the other day, so, um. FINE. she will Very Not Stiffly take a seat on his lap, with her side to his chest, leaning against it.

[ Warm and cozy (: Especially when Rokkun puts his arms around her again, not really in a hug but just sort of with his hands clasped and arms loose around her, because there's nowhere else to put his arms that wouldn't be awkward. ]

( she's like, 2 seconds away from shaking like a chihuaua, because it's okay for her to cling to people but under her rules, okay? also, this feels like a scene from some romantic drama she'd probably watch and sigh about? and still, she can't deny that this feels nice and cozy, and that having his attention is satisfying, so she sits there. stiff. unmoving.

( if she were plopping down in his lap specifically to tease him, it'd be a different story, okay? but where she excels in being verbal and forward, she hates showing people that when push comes to shove, actual affection is... strange. vulnerable. she doesn't feel like she has the upper hand, and yet she doesn't wanna leave, either, curled up against his chest.

Hm... I guess it's because I've never done anything like this before, and it's making me a little anxious. A little scared. Can you hear my heart beating? I try not to think about it too much.

[ He breathes on the top of Rika's head, and one of the good things about sitting like this is not having to look at the person you're talking to, you're talking to darkness under the covers and it's a lot like talking to yourself in your own room, unable to fall asleep at night. ]

"Can I do it?" "Will I be able to stop?" "Will I be forgiven?" It's those sorts of thoughts.

she can, in fact, hear his heartbeat this way — a little faster than it probably should be, the steady rhythm falling in with her own. her heart's beating faster, too — nervous, flustered, she wraps her arms around her knees and listens to him, staring off into the darkness. )

[ That seems to be the extent of how much he's willing to say, for now, looking down at Rika and then back out into the distance/the blanket wall like two feet from his face. ]
