THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE A BLANKET FORT SLUMBER PARTY
Who: OPEN to anyone and everyone!
When: May 22nd (Saturday) after 6pm and the following morning
Where: Class 3-D
What: it's time to heal from all the chaos and murder with a blanket fort slumber party, hell yeah hell yeah
Sometime after school has fully closed for the day and everyone else has gone home, a sign is put up on the door to 3-D. In rounded letters and surrounded by drawings of flowers and a couple cartoon cats, it reads:
BLANKET FORT CONSTRUCTION ZONE
slumber party @ 8pm
all are welcome!
(rule breakers will be sent to JAIL)
... if you show up early, everything might still be in the process of being set up, but by 8pm most of the desks and chairs in the room have either been pushed to the sides or stacked strategically in the middle to form mighty fortress walls. These are, of course, topped with blankets for cover, because it wouldn't be a blanket fort without blankets. Blankets are a limited resource at the school, so it's recommended to bring your own if you don't want to share a fort with someone else. Or maybe just steal a big scrap of fabric from the art room. Close enough, right?
Aside from the obvious arrangements at the centre, there is an un-blanketed pair of desks set aside for snacks. Nene made cookies, and Clamor has put out a bowl of healthy nuts and fruit (as if anyone would actually take those over the cookies). For drinks, there are a few bottles of juice and one pot of (thoroughly filtered) tea and a few cups to use. A small folded sign at the table politely reads "Don't be greedy."
If you are greedy, or if you harass anyone else just trying to have a good time, you risk being sent to...gay baby jail™. It is, as always, a cardboard box situated in the farthest corner of the room, and guarded diligently by only the most fearsome of dads and buff teenagers. You have been warned.
There is also a second cardboard jail cell on the opposite corner of the room, which is not labelled (yet). The inside is absolutely covered in scratch marks, since it's the same box that was used to catch the cat earlier in the month... but now it's jail 2: jail harder. It is reserved for criminals who cannot be allowed to collaborate during jail time, and you know who you are, please just behave yourselves.
This is meant to be a slumber party, so eventually, an amount of slumber will be expected. Luckily it's the weekend, so everyone is welcome to sleep in for as long as they want... just don't sleep in too late, unless you want to get stuck helping with clean up.
((OOC: It's another mingle!!! Feel free to make your own toplevels and comment around, start some party games, bring some extra snacks, hijack Nene's nerf gun to lay siege to your neighbour's fort... w/e!
This is meant to be something of a break from the usual death and despair of murderschool, so please don't do any actual murders in this log that is literally the lowest bar i can ask of y'all. Put warnings in your threads as needed! General chaos is fine, but characters that cause too much of a disturbance will be manhandled and sent togay baby jail™. You have been warned... twice!!
ICly the fort construction and party is being arranged by Clamor, Noah, Sidney and Nene, but basically anyone who wants to pop in and help out is welcome to, and CR may have been asked to join/help out in advance. If you need an excuse for your character to come, someone else could've dragged them there to chill—just ask!
anyway that's all pls have fun, go nuts))

There's a dramatic sigh before he leaves the party and enters the room, kneeling down next to his errant weirdo.]
....And what, exactly, did you do to deserve this?
no subject
( yeah, he's tied up... for what? no reason at all. )
...I was King in the King's game! It was pretty fun, but no one wanted to do anything... for adults... risk is something they're scared to take.
( sigh. )
no subject
And knowing Komaeda, that 'risk' was probably something incredibly dangerous or outlandish. Potentially both at the same time.]
Well, a part of being an adult is learning when to not 'leap forward', so to speak. You can't blame them for being a bit cross or leery, and many are not ready for your brand of...exuberance.
[Batshit insanity is the words he meant there, but hey.]
no subject
I don't mind it at all, I do think their bond must have grown stronger by getting rid of me. ( you know, if they all decided on it so they could enjoy themselves better, then it's a win for him. ) I can be happy from that... they were having fun, and I thought my ideas could bring them closer.
( it was all about trust, but maybe they were all too afraid of one another to put each other in danger. it's hard considering komaeda would put himself in danger for everyone, but the sentiment isn't the same. it's insane, not completely correct, but he speaks like it is. )
Shouldn't you join them?
no subject
[He says, having zero idea what the hell komaeda said.]
And yes, I suppose I should...But I will admit, it will be a bit boring without you there.
[He says with a gentle smile, as he undoes the last of the ropes so the boy can at least be free while he waits.]
You do bring a certain...liveliness, to many proceedings that I find delightful.
no subject
( it was for hope! none of them can see it that way, but he sure can. )
...You should take care of everyone while I'm away, I can count on you for that because if anyone understands... you do.
( you know, about hope and how much that means to him. how they have to do certain things even if it's against what they think is right to see everyone work together. komaeda's efforts were a little... different, but he thinks something came together. ) When my time is up, I'll try to continue what we believe in.
no subject
...
Well, it was something he could certainly understand.]
I am honored you think so highly of me, Komaeda. I shall take care of them in your place, in my own way.
[He doesn't miss what that means - or what he thinks it means, anyway.]
Is that so? Well then, I will leave you to it - for I also can count on you.
[Even if Komaeda's methods were drastic, and he often wished for death...he could, at least, count on him to bring joy and chaos to the situation. And that alone was more than worth it.]
no subject
that's kind of unfair, but they're things he doesn't hear on a regular, and part of him wonders if he's imagining it all. it's almost like he wants to ignore it on purpose, because nothing good comes from hearing things you want to hear. those are strokes of good luck that ultimately shows the bad luck, and if he continues to reject them... nothing too horrible will happen to the people around him. that's how he'd feel deep inside, but on the outside, in his brain as he knows the world — he's aware that he doesn't deserve it, people disappear, they change their minds, but he shouldn't do this to someone who understands the madness in his methods. )
...
( the worst part is komaeda can't even refute properly, rather, his words are caught in his throat, and instead he can only muster a wave of his hand, a smile. )
Good luck, Moriarty-san.
no subject
[He clasps a hand on Komaeda's shoulder, in a fatherly fashion.]
After all, I am Ja - ouch?!
[There's a yelp of surprise, as he looks down...and sees a black widow perched on his hand, letting go and scurrying off the moment he's laid eyes on it. With a pained laugh, he lifts his hand and massages the area a bit.]
Aha....it seems I'll just have to wash this out to prevent infection. How enbarassing!
no subject
What?
( he asks, and luckily komaeda touches whoever he wants, because as he gets up, he's grabbing at the other's hand trying to see — he doesn't have to know, but curiosity works on komaeda. the room is too dark, so he'll never know the truth when it comes to it, but his head tilts to the side as he squints, and still nothing. )
That's pretty unlucky... ( and when he told him good luck??? has he failed him, hello. ) ...I brought a bucket of water to the group next door, you might be able to wash it out.
( but it's not good water, though is that the actual bad luck... even he's unable to tell properly. )
no subject
[He tells it as he remembers seeing it - and spiders truly were nothing to worry about, honestly. Staph infections would be worse in this environment, and he nods at the mention of the bucket of water.]
Yes, I see - if it's all the same, I might run down and purchase a bit of bottled water to wash this out with.
[HE DOESN'T REALLY WANT HEPATITIS....]
Still, it happens. Be careful though, would you? There might be more about.
no subject
That's different.
( the bite on him, how it just sits there without a sign of something dangerous. it looks normal, and he looks up to moriarty's face to confirm that. )
I always forget you haven't been here long. ( that's because moriarty fits in perfectly. ) That room I was in... is infested, and maybe it's when you opened the door.
( that would make sense, there's no way it was a spider on him that didn't do anything... )
