THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE A BLANKET FORT SLUMBER PARTY
Who: OPEN to anyone and everyone!
When: May 22nd (Saturday) after 6pm and the following morning
Where: Class 3-D
What: it's time to heal from all the chaos and murder with a blanket fort slumber party, hell yeah hell yeah
Sometime after school has fully closed for the day and everyone else has gone home, a sign is put up on the door to 3-D. In rounded letters and surrounded by drawings of flowers and a couple cartoon cats, it reads:
BLANKET FORT CONSTRUCTION ZONE
slumber party @ 8pm
all are welcome!
(rule breakers will be sent to JAIL)
... if you show up early, everything might still be in the process of being set up, but by 8pm most of the desks and chairs in the room have either been pushed to the sides or stacked strategically in the middle to form mighty fortress walls. These are, of course, topped with blankets for cover, because it wouldn't be a blanket fort without blankets. Blankets are a limited resource at the school, so it's recommended to bring your own if you don't want to share a fort with someone else. Or maybe just steal a big scrap of fabric from the art room. Close enough, right?
Aside from the obvious arrangements at the centre, there is an un-blanketed pair of desks set aside for snacks. Nene made cookies, and Clamor has put out a bowl of healthy nuts and fruit (as if anyone would actually take those over the cookies). For drinks, there are a few bottles of juice and one pot of (thoroughly filtered) tea and a few cups to use. A small folded sign at the table politely reads "Don't be greedy."
If you are greedy, or if you harass anyone else just trying to have a good time, you risk being sent to...gay baby jail™. It is, as always, a cardboard box situated in the farthest corner of the room, and guarded diligently by only the most fearsome of dads and buff teenagers. You have been warned.
There is also a second cardboard jail cell on the opposite corner of the room, which is not labelled (yet). The inside is absolutely covered in scratch marks, since it's the same box that was used to catch the cat earlier in the month... but now it's jail 2: jail harder. It is reserved for criminals who cannot be allowed to collaborate during jail time, and you know who you are, please just behave yourselves.
This is meant to be a slumber party, so eventually, an amount of slumber will be expected. Luckily it's the weekend, so everyone is welcome to sleep in for as long as they want... just don't sleep in too late, unless you want to get stuck helping with clean up.
((OOC: It's another mingle!!! Feel free to make your own toplevels and comment around, start some party games, bring some extra snacks, hijack Nene's nerf gun to lay siege to your neighbour's fort... w/e!
This is meant to be something of a break from the usual death and despair of murderschool, so please don't do any actual murders in this log that is literally the lowest bar i can ask of y'all. Put warnings in your threads as needed! General chaos is fine, but characters that cause too much of a disturbance will be manhandled and sent togay baby jail™. You have been warned... twice!!
ICly the fort construction and party is being arranged by Clamor, Noah, Sidney and Nene, but basically anyone who wants to pop in and help out is welcome to, and CR may have been asked to join/help out in advance. If you need an excuse for your character to come, someone else could've dragged them there to chill—just ask!
anyway that's all pls have fun, go nuts))

Hi, Rika-chan. Are you having fun?
no subject
Uh-huh, it's been a while since I've done anything like this. ( she nods, flopping down next to the other. ) Though all that socializing can tire you out, too... ~
no subject
Yeah... you can stay as long as you need, okay? I'm kinda tired too... but. ( sideeyes outside... ) Not enough to let my guard down juuuust yet.
no subject
What, think someone's gonna pull something again? Well... there's plenty of party poopers this time around, so I wouldn't be too worried. ~
no subject
no, komaeda was dropping things on them earlier. )
It's just... Everyone's a lot livelier than what I'm used to! It's a lot sometimes. But... it can be really fun, too.

Hmmm... it's livelier than I'm used to, too. Normally, I'm the one and only life of the party ~ It's not bad, though. Kind of a given when you put so many different people together, y'know?
( it might get a little better when they're finally let out of the school... )
no subject
... I've never been part of a big sleepover like this, before.
no subject
( she's used to being around a lot of people — not friends, just people, back from her idol days. fan gatherings, concerts... all of them required her to put on a brave face for everyone, and she's always been good at acting the part.
whether she actually is or not, well. that's still up in the air. she's been discovering a lot of things about herself lately. )
Me neither, but I doubt any of us really was. I guess I'm kinda fine with a lot of people being around, but... I can see how easy it is to get overwhelming. So it's fine — you're doing your best, and all.
no subject
( who wants the weird kid who daydreams audibly and makes ghostly bentos around for a sleepover, after all? )
You always seem like you're exactly where you wanna be. Even in a place like this.
no subject
It's 'cause anywhere's better than where I don't wanna be the most. ( which is home. ) I just learned to adapt, y'know?
( and when you're a cursed extrovert, blending in is easy. )
no subject
I think I get it. ( only through an outsider's perspective, however. ) But, um, you don't have to be anything with me, okay? I know it can get tiring.
no subject
I don't really know how to not be anything, honestly. ( she admits, shoulders rising in a shrug. it's always something — everything's a performance to keep people at a comfortable distance. ) But all things considered, maybe this place will make me learn. Not much time for theatrics, huh?
nene hug for rika...................
Maybe. But for now... I've got you!
( is it a reassurance? or is it an open invitation to make a fuss, chasing away whatever feelings she may have unburied for rika's sake?
it's both, easily. )
nene... cute
so she falls into the fluffy pile alongside the other girl, huffing out a short laugh. )
Huh, guess it's all good, then! Nenecchi's got me covered!
rika cute too!!!
( and regardless of overwhelming shenanigans, teasing about ghost boys or komaeda dropping tiles on people, nene just giggles, soft and innocent, and continues to hug rika. )
