THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE A BLANKET FORT SLUMBER PARTY

When: May 22nd (Saturday) after 6pm and the following morning
Where: Class 3-D
What: it's time to heal from all the chaos and murder with a blanket fort slumber party, hell yeah hell yeah

Sometime after school has fully closed for the day and everyone else has gone home, a sign is put up on the door to 3-D. In rounded letters and surrounded by drawings of flowers and a couple cartoon cats, it reads:

BLANKET FORT CONSTRUCTION ZONE
slumber party @ 8pm
all are welcome!
(rule breakers will be sent to JAIL)
... if you show up early, everything might still be in the process of being set up, but by 8pm most of the desks and chairs in the room have either been pushed to the sides or stacked strategically in the middle to form mighty fortress walls. These are, of course, topped with blankets for cover, because it wouldn't be a blanket fort without blankets. Blankets are a limited resource at the school, so it's recommended to bring your own if you don't want to share a fort with someone else. Or maybe just steal a big scrap of fabric from the art room. Close enough, right?

Aside from the obvious arrangements at the centre, there is an un-blanketed pair of desks set aside for snacks. Nene made cookies, and Clamor has put out a bowl of healthy nuts and fruit (as if anyone would actually take those over the cookies). For drinks, there are a few bottles of juice and one pot of (thoroughly filtered) tea and a few cups to use. A small folded sign at the table politely reads "Don't be greedy."

If you are greedy, or if you harass anyone else just trying to have a good time, you risk being sent to... gay baby jail™. It is, as always, a cardboard box situated in the farthest corner of the room, and guarded diligently by only the most fearsome of dads and buff teenagers. You have been warned.

There is also a second cardboard jail cell on the opposite corner of the room, which is not labelled (yet). The inside is absolutely covered in scratch marks, since it's the same box that was used to catch the cat earlier in the month... but now it's jail 2: jail harder. It is reserved for criminals who cannot be allowed to collaborate during jail time, and you know who you are, please just behave yourselves.

This is meant to be a slumber party, so eventually, an amount of slumber will be expected. Luckily it's the weekend, so everyone is welcome to sleep in for as long as they want... just don't sleep in too late, unless you want to get stuck helping with clean up.

This is meant to be something of a break from the usual death and despair of murderschool, so please don't do any actual murders in this log that is literally the lowest bar i can ask of y'all. Put warnings in your threads as needed! General chaos is fine, but characters that cause too much of a disturbance will be manhandled and sent to gay baby jail™. You have been warned... twice!!

ICly the fort construction and party is being arranged by Clamor, Noah, Sidney and Nene, but basically anyone who wants to pop in and help out is welcome to, and CR may have been asked to join/help out in advance. If you need an excuse for your character to come, someone else could've dragged them there to chill—just ask!

Ah... me?

[ He stares at the stick in disbelief, like there's some part of him that's so deeply steeped in low self-esteem he can't even believe he pulled an RNG thing in his own favor. But despite how he looks... he's actually given some background thought to this, in the midst of all the chaos from the other rounds.

He isn't confident about it... of course, when is he? But it just has to be something that includes everyone, right? Something that can suit the broad range of personalities in the group... ]

Alright. Then... I thought about it after talking to Nanami-san, but we could all play a game together for this round. I'd like number 4 to cover their eyes and ears -- I suppose someone else can watch that they don't cheat, if you want to. Number 1 should take one of Yashiro-san's cookies and hide it somewhere in this room. Everyone else isn't allowed to show their numbers until the game is over.

[ He runs a thoughtful gaze across the group, seeming more confident now that he's in the middle of actually explaining something. ]

After the cookie is hidden, number 4 can open their eyes and start looking for it. The other participants are supposed to give hints... but there's a catch. Everyone with an odd number should always lie, and everyone with an even number should always tell the truth. The hints are allowed to refer to any topic you'd like... but they shouldn't be too direct, either.

[ There... that doesn't leave anyone out, correct? ]

There'll be a time limit of 10 minutes. If the cookie isn't found, it belongs to number 1. But if number 4 finds it, they get to keep it.

She'll take up point a few feet away, hands folded in front of her like she's a NPC. Or a statue. She's really good at this... She did it for [time doesn't exist in the velvet room] after all. )

[ i'm just commenting to say he's gonna stand next to her to observe from there, because... listen after getting paired for two rounds and being her subject for another, he just kinda got used to being there.

W-We're not playing that round anymore...

[ But she already knows that, doesn't she? She's probably just teasing him... What kind of impression is she going to have of him from now on? He's kind of worried, but for some reason can't find it in himself to stress too much about it. ]

Still... a lot might have happened, but doing this... I think everyone was able to get some things off their mind for a while. Thank you, Elizabeth-san.

Is that so...? I merely recalled that mixers such as these had party games, with the King's game... well, king among them.

( so it hadn't been her intention, but it's nice her whimsy helped. it feels nice. she returns the smile too, a genuine if small one. )

...Humans live such ephemeral yet full lives. While there will doubtlessly be sorrow and hardships, I believe it is important to have fun, too. ( she laughs a little, glancing at him. ) If only my elder sister and younger brother could also believe in that, perhaps they would not hold back so much, even as long-lived as we are.

You were prepared for this, huh? I should've expected as much from you, Saihara-kun.

( okay, he's not going to call out the whole ultimate detective thing here and now, because he still doesn't know the whole context of everything he's walked into and what's been shared, and that sounds like a target on his back if he's ever heard one, but! with the look he offers when he meets the other's eyes? it's kind of, y'know, implied. either way, this sort of game lines up exactly with what amami thinks a detective would come up with. it feels kinda cool, actually. "it's a cookie." cool...... )

Still, this'll be pretty rough on me as number four. I'll see what I can do.

[ Amami isn't wrong... he was prepared, but having it spelled out by someone else is a little embarrassing and if he still had his hat he'd probably be pulling it lower over his eyes. As it stands though, the most he can do is run a few fingers through his hair, rubbing some of the strands between them as he's put on the spot. It's... not entirely a bad feeling, though.

From behind his own sleeve, he tries a little smile -- just the tiniest trace, in response. At least if this is who number four was... they probably don't have to worry too much about cheating. ]

So he leans over while the cookie is being hidden and Rantaro's covering his eyes and ears, whispering.]

Hey, hey! Don't give him any useful hints, but contradict anything I say, okay?

[He quickly flashes her his number just to prove there's no manipulation from the other team at play here.]

Oh, and look super annoyed at whatever I tell him. That shouldn't be too hard, right? Since I'm gonna be lying to poor Amami-chan and all.

[A two-pronged attack; even if Amami doesn't fall for Kokichi's lies, then Nene is set up to seem so much more believable in comparison.]
