THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE A BLANKET FORT SLUMBER PARTY
Who: OPEN to anyone and everyone!
When: May 22nd (Saturday) after 6pm and the following morning
Where: Class 3-D
What: it's time to heal from all the chaos and murder with a blanket fort slumber party, hell yeah hell yeah
Sometime after school has fully closed for the day and everyone else has gone home, a sign is put up on the door to 3-D. In rounded letters and surrounded by drawings of flowers and a couple cartoon cats, it reads:
BLANKET FORT CONSTRUCTION ZONE
slumber party @ 8pm
all are welcome!
(rule breakers will be sent to JAIL)
... if you show up early, everything might still be in the process of being set up, but by 8pm most of the desks and chairs in the room have either been pushed to the sides or stacked strategically in the middle to form mighty fortress walls. These are, of course, topped with blankets for cover, because it wouldn't be a blanket fort without blankets. Blankets are a limited resource at the school, so it's recommended to bring your own if you don't want to share a fort with someone else. Or maybe just steal a big scrap of fabric from the art room. Close enough, right?
Aside from the obvious arrangements at the centre, there is an un-blanketed pair of desks set aside for snacks. Nene made cookies, and Clamor has put out a bowl of healthy nuts and fruit (as if anyone would actually take those over the cookies). For drinks, there are a few bottles of juice and one pot of (thoroughly filtered) tea and a few cups to use. A small folded sign at the table politely reads "Don't be greedy."
If you are greedy, or if you harass anyone else just trying to have a good time, you risk being sent to...gay baby jail™. It is, as always, a cardboard box situated in the farthest corner of the room, and guarded diligently by only the most fearsome of dads and buff teenagers. You have been warned.
There is also a second cardboard jail cell on the opposite corner of the room, which is not labelled (yet). The inside is absolutely covered in scratch marks, since it's the same box that was used to catch the cat earlier in the month... but now it's jail 2: jail harder. It is reserved for criminals who cannot be allowed to collaborate during jail time, and you know who you are, please just behave yourselves.
This is meant to be a slumber party, so eventually, an amount of slumber will be expected. Luckily it's the weekend, so everyone is welcome to sleep in for as long as they want... just don't sleep in too late, unless you want to get stuck helping with clean up.
((OOC: It's another mingle!!! Feel free to make your own toplevels and comment around, start some party games, bring some extra snacks, hijack Nene's nerf gun to lay siege to your neighbour's fort... w/e!
This is meant to be something of a break from the usual death and despair of murderschool, so please don't do any actual murders in this log that is literally the lowest bar i can ask of y'all. Put warnings in your threads as needed! General chaos is fine, but characters that cause too much of a disturbance will be manhandled and sent togay baby jail™. You have been warned... twice!!
ICly the fort construction and party is being arranged by Clamor, Noah, Sidney and Nene, but basically anyone who wants to pop in and help out is welcome to, and CR may have been asked to join/help out in advance. If you need an excuse for your character to come, someone else could've dragged them there to chill—just ask!
anyway that's all pls have fun, go nuts))

( they're probably better during a celebration, or a holiday, but komaeda just wants to see them actually — more so, use them to blow up something in the school, but that requires a few more items. instead, if he's to get what he wants, he might as well make it seem like a good time if they're bringing rokkun into it. now, there's something about what she says which stands out to him, and with his hands up like he's been caught — )
Ahah, you must be the kouhai he spoils. ( whether that conversation was about rika or not, it's out in the open, but he drops his hands down after by his side. so they're both familiar with him, what a surprise, but he watches wilbur chew away, enjoying himself as komaeda tries to figure out the answer to rika's question. he holds up one finger, finally looking in her direction. )
Our connection is through hope, you could say I'm just a stepping stone in seeing how beautiful he can become... ( he says he has hope, he's told komaeda many times, and of course in turn the ultimate perceives his actions to see if they'll be the foundation of the others here. give them reason to keep going, but there's something selfish about him at times. is komaeda worried? well... ) You want to see him blossom as well, right?
no subject
( why are they even talking about sparklers? she'll follow komaeda if he says it'll be fun, but Skeptically... also, please don't blow shit up for no reason, she doesn't wanna get flooded with blood water again. )
Hmm... ( she hums, absentmindedly. does he spoil her? with his affections, maybe, which is terrible and embarrassing and she does Not want to discuss it. still, there's... something off about him, regardless of her pink-tinted glasses that she views him with; she's a teenage girl with a crush, but, listen, when the boy you like says very questionable stuff, you have to be Smarter than that.
mostly, she's just on guard because of hyde, though... )
You're saying weird stuff again. ( she complains, staring at him thoughtfully. blossom? in what way? ) I guess... I just want him to be okay. He's a weirdo and people seem to stay away from him, and he says stuff like, "if you're close to me you're in danger," so... I just wanna know he's not doing something super dumb.

...
( she's thinking, putting a lot of thought into it compared to where she'd say anything without shame. would he say this is the girl he's seen around who's good at running her mouth? no, there's more to the way she falls silent wondering if that could be her. it doesn't have to matter, and she could easily dismiss it, and yet she allows it to be about her. as she worries about him, his sickly, pale eyes watch the expression on her face, before offering a flash of a carefree smile to reassure her. )
You're considerate of him.
( he speaks, finally looking away as he starts to fiddle with his hands, index fingers guiding along the lifelines slowly. there's someone worried about him, whereas komaeda can hardly understand the sentiment, but it can be appreciated from someone else's point of view. it's a good thing, that sort of bond between two people is what's needed to grow hope, and lead to a world that lacks any sort of despair. he wants to see which hope combats another, and what will come out of it at the end. ) Simple, ordinary people only understand the most simplest, and ordinary things... but his mind is a broader horizon. ( he starts, now looking at naughty wilbur clean his pawsies of crumb. )
Do you think his actions are done selfishly or selflessly, even if it meant he might aspire to his own hope?

is she being considerate of him? maybe. the girl who normally runs her mouth without much rhyme or reason, hesitating: she's so easy to read, when she actually gives a shit, and the thought alone pisses her off. she doesn't want to be seen — she doesn't want to be read, either, or understood, or perceived, or anything — so she scoffs, shoulders rising in a shrug, as she leans back on the bench and waves her hand absentmindedly. )
You say that, but there's no way he's being selfless. It's all selfish, as most men are. ( but is there anything wrong with having one? a selfish wish, she means. in the end, everyone has thought of something similar at some point in time — the difference is between those who hesitate and those who pursue it, no matter the cost.
she doesn't know what rokuro's dream is. she doesn't think he himself really knows, either. somewhere along the line, he's lost sight of what really mattered. that's what she thinks. now it's all just about fulfilling selfish desires, following stupid thrills, maybe impressing people like komaeda on the way, too.
boys are dumb. she just doesn't know this one's murderous, too. )
You know something, don't you? About Rocchi.

he's blinded by one simple thing which is hope, and as long as the other acts in a way that raises his own, even if it means to battle against others — then komaeda will watch that hope, along with others, until they're walled, and are need into a push. if rokkun's hope combats rika's hope, then he'll watch to see the outcome, which one will shine a bright light within the darkness of the school. so he watches the female like he's seeing through her, and what he sees is a normal, ordinary girl who plays a normal, ordinary role in the scheme of things. )
Ahah, sucks to be a guy in your eyes, huh?
( instead of being down about the comment, he laughs about it instead with a grin like there's some joy to be taken from it. ) You don't trust him, is what you want to say... ( so they're that close for rika to have thoughts like that, for her mind to be infiltrated with rokkun brainworms that she worries for his well-being, and that's not a bad thing. it's about coming together with everyone, and if by his methods causes others to swarm around him — protect him like a wall from all sides as he said — then it's doing something in his favor. )
He knows something about us, as does everyone else here.
( he tilts his head to the side, moving one arm to rest against the width of his stomach. )
Isn't it normal to learn about the people you're around... so that a new hope can be born together with that?
no subject
( guys are scummy, sure, but so are women. she doesn't think there's any particular difference between the two, as far as lying and deceiving people goes — actually, women might be more adept at that in the first place. still... she needs something to grab onto, if she wants to pull off her uncaring act correctly — though it might be too late for that, anyway. )
... ( so she sighs, staring firmly at some point across the corridor. ) It's hard to trust anyone around here. ( and she's not wrong, because people are sketchy as hell, and rokkun is... well. he says some weird stuff, but he still somehow broke through her initial walls — which is worrisome, because she knows her mind's likely to make stuff up just to cover for him, like the dumb teenage girl with a crush that she is.
here's to hoping there's nothing to cover for, right? )
That's such a cop-out answer, Koma-kyun. If you're gonna lie, at least be good at it. ( "people know people." dumbest shit she's ever heard? ) If you don't wanna rat him out ( haha wilbur ) that's fine — but now I know there's something to rat about in the first place.
( can you say... outplayed? )

( they have to do these things together, be here for each other so that they'll be able to pick up the slack of something terrible happens. those sort of bonds is what helps them have courage, why they protect one another, and be able to get through anything. he understands that's part of hope, and if they don't have that, everything between them will disappear just like that — they'll fight amongst each other, stop trying to learn, or help from one another. )
There will be people here you count on, even if you don't want to... because things can't be done alone.
( he says that, but he's the biggest hypocrite of them all. the way he stays from people, distancing them from himself because of his own concerns regarding his luck — people he cares for will die, so it's best to keep them at arm's length right. as he thinks about it, he can't help how his eyes widen just a moment from her statement, and it makes sense that she would think so. she's worried about him after all, and it's not the most direct answer komaeda could have given. ) Ahaha, it's a cop-out because it's not the answer you want?
( is it really being outplayed, or is rika just stressed because she's not finding the information she wants? either way, komaeda shakes his head as he lifts a finger, and points at her. )
It's about hope. ( what is rokkun's hope...? well... ) The reason why you want to live, and matters like that... if someone tried to stop you from gaining it, what would you do? ( is komaeda budging? maybe he's budging. )
