mise picked for me

This post serves as a place for me to gather all of Amami's closed threads, starters, and miscellany through the month. If you want to set something up, I can be reached by PM or at

the stairs aren't in great shape either, especially once the the heavy weight of amami hits against the steps, and it's almost cliche how a crack appears under him. it slithers down the center of the steps, shifting one by one until it stops at the end, but the loud cracking is audible due to the wood coming apart. it's safe for now, the balusters finally coming to a stop as some of them fall down on the side, smacking against something once they hit the bottom. the vibrations however also help the pebbles that had stopped rolling, and causes one (1) to move once again until it rolls on the final step before the next flight right on the crack.
everything's silent, everything's still... that's until there's the sound of something cracking around amami's weight, and an abrupt shake of his body going down that sends him down a bit, and then another —
the step, and the one in front of him is caving in. )

he's no fool, he can tell what that sound means — can see what that shake is trying to tell him. even as the steps are beginning to crack under the weight, he's already turning, trying to pull himself up off his ass (where he's fallen, which is kind of sore from hitting the corner of a step, but not nearly as sore as he's gonna be if he doesn't get out of here,) and scramble back up the staircase. and you know what? for a moment or so he looks almost like he might be successful. the stairs behind him begin to crack and fall uneven, but he's able to outrace the structural weakness for a moment.
too bad a moment is all it is.
unfortunately, he's not able to make it to the upper landing where komaeda is lying before it catches up to him. he steps up, one foot in front of the other, left in front of right — and it's really only about two or three of those steps before his shoe punches right through the already compromised wood, cracks already having begun pulling it apart from the below the surface where he couldn't have seen. with that? it's all over. from the hole that's already been crashed through in the step, the cracks that were spreading begin to give way. before long, he's falling through an entire person-sized hole in the staircase. not all the way down, though. maybe it's luck? that he didn't let go of the railing in his hand, clutched tightly in his fist as he had turned to retreat up the stairs — now, as he falls fingers still curled tightly around it, he jolts to a stop as the length of it catches against the edges of the hole.
safe... for now. how long is now? amami isn't about to wait and find out. )
K-Komaeda-kun!?
( can he, like, get a hand here? scrambling to try and pull himself back up; it isn't as though he isn't athletic, but it's still a struggle to manage alone. )

a tired exhale, he reaches out with one arm, and it's practically shaking (while being nowhere close to grab him). his fingers twitch faintly as he attempts to help the other... )
Hope...
( but then komaeda just instantly loses consciousness, his hand and head connecting with the ground yet again. goodbye amami. )

and then he falls.
the wooden railing splits in half, following him down as he finally loses the last thing holding him up in the hole, and below? just more staircase, honestly, being a spiral and all. so when he lands, the sound is loud and ugly. his body hits against the corner of another step, and from there, the pain has him curling up to try and protect himself from further injury as he tumbles down to the next landing. well, that's what he tries to do. the reality of the matter is that after impact, it's a feeling more like he's blinked, and when his eyes open, he's already in a pile on that landing. his entire body aches, the sharpest of the pain piercing through his chest, and vision that feels hard to focus in on as he gauges the situation.
ow... )
