A new pink arrival
Who: Yuzu Hiiragi and You!
What: June Catch-All + Arrival
When: June
Where: Class 3-D | generally just around
Warnings: None rn ill add if it comes up
Where...?
[ She knows the answer to that. She shouldn't know the answer to that. She doesn't know enough... what the heck is Yogen? A high school, obviously... but where is Yogen? Where is home? How did she end up here? The last thing she remembers is returning to the Pendulum Dimension after everything with Zarc, but... even that's hazy right now.
She's a pretty eye-catching sight in the classroom, honestly. Bright pink hair in two different tones of pink, done up in pigtails by two large blue hairclips... she definitely wasn't in this class before, that's for sure. ]
Still, it's probably a bit strange to see someone trying to open the doors and windows at this point that isn't someone still figuring things out. ]
Well, she doesn't have her pajamas, but she does have her tracksuit from home, and it was better than nothing!
Still, just because she's ready to sleep, that doesn't mean she's actually able to. Right now she's just... found a corner for herself to keep to herself, curling up into a ball by bringing her legs up to her chest and hiding her face. She's definitely not sleeping like that, but she's still got too many thoughts going on in her head to sleep right now... even if she is tired. ]
This is real, isn't it...
[ Lord knows she's trying to be positive, but it's very hard right now. ]
OddEyes! Or just put a prompt down here and I'll roll with it. I'll also put closed prompts in the comments as well if you need one. ]

[1] Welcome (Homeroom 3-D)
[ It's around lunchtime when Yuzu wakes up, holding her head silently to herself as she sorts through her memories, her eyes wide. What the heck is Yogen...? Why is it so familiar? It's not the school she goes to, and it's definitely not anything she's ever heard of, but at the same time her memories tell her that she's been here for years. ]Where...?

[2] Stuck
[ Regardless of anything, she has to at least try to leave, right? It's uncanny how easy it is for her to navigate this place, but... as she tugs fruitlessly on one of the locked doors, she ends up confirming it herself. Every freaking exit in this place is locked, and she's stuck here with three weird marks on her wrist and memories that aren't hers. Well, she managed to find her bracelet and clothes from home in her locker, so it wasn't all bad...Still, it's probably a bit strange to see someone trying to open the doors and windows at this point that isn't someone still figuring things out. ]
[3] Nighttime
[ Yuzu doesn't know what she was expecting when the lights went out... but needing to sleep on the floor (or whatever else can be found) was not it. It just felt a bit anticlimactic to her, you know? Lights go out and you just... sleep here at the school. Beds? Nope, apparently not...Well, she doesn't have her pajamas, but she does have her tracksuit from home, and it was better than nothing!
Still, just because she's ready to sleep, that doesn't mean she's actually able to. ...A blanket?]
Unfortunately, yes. However, if you'd like - you may use this, as I've no need of it.
no subject
[ She takes the blanket, albeit a little hesitantly considering that the old man is a stranger. Still, it's better than just sleeping with nothing but the clothes on her back to keep her warm... even if it was just room temperature here. ]
Thank you... will you be alright without this, though?
no subject
No, no need to worry - I do not require sleep, you see. And I have some other blankets for when I do have a need to lay down and take a rest.
no subject
[ Yeah, dropping something like that is bound to raise some questions no matter how casually it gets dropped. Still, she's glad for the blanket and wraps it around herself, though she was still sitting up to talk. ]
no subject
[He pauses, not sure about how much to explain, before just sighing.]
I suppose you could consider me a bit like a...living ghost, of sorts. It's complicated, and I'm not sure if I should bother you with such things at such a late hour.
no subject
[ It... definitely sounds complicated, and not something that she should be thinking about at this hour. As crazy as it is, she assumes that 'school' is still happening... so she'd best try and get as much sleep as she can, even if it's just with a blanket on the floor. ]
You're right... I'm Yuzu by the way, Yuzu Hiiragi...
no subject
[He winks at her - but it's intended to be a friendly, almost fatherly wink.]
Ah, but where are my manners? My name is James Moriarty.
[And he'll give her a gentleman's bow, of course.]
no subject
[ James Moriarty... James Moriarty... she could've sworn she's heard that name somewhere. Unfortunately, while 'Sherlock Holmes' is something you could never go without hearing, unless you've actually read the books, it's pretty easy to end up not really hearing about James Moriarty.
In any case, it does look like some cogs are turning in Yuzu's head, but it's pointless since she's never really read any of the Sherlock novels. Moriarty sounds familiar, but she's drawing blanks. ]
Well, thank you for the blanket...
1 also hello homeroom buddy :')
He turns around in his desk seat to face her, voice quiet, not that it's usually too loud in the first place. The other students lingering in the classroom for lunch shouldn't overhear if they stay quiet.]
H...hey, uh... welcome to... high school, I guess.
[Is it obvious that he's shy and can't communicate to save his life? If not, that will soon be apparent.]
no subject
H-High School?
[ Yeah, that's right... she's in high school, but at the same time that feels incorrect in and of itself. I mean, she knows that she'd be attending High School soon, but she's only in Junior High right now... at least, that's how it was back home. ]
Are... are you also...?
no subject
[There's really no better response, sadly; if Noah could formulate one, he would. She looks younger than him by a little bit, but then again Noah's never been great at parsing people's ages.]
...uh, I'm... Noah. Er, Ebalon... is my last name.
[Can't just say the full name without stuttering, nope, that's not how we do things around here. But regardless of his timidness, he's still the least bit worried about this practical stranger, and so he sits backwards in his chair and folds his arms over the back of it and then rests his chin atop his crossed wrists as he asks,]
...is your head okay? I mean, uh... are your memories intact or...?
no subject
Yeah, I'm fine... I'm Yuzu, Yuzu Hiiragi.
[ She'd say that it's nice to meet him, and it is! She's just... still very confused right now. ]
What is this place...? It can't just be a normal high school...
no subject
[Should he give her a rude awakening, or let her find out herself? Noah steals a glance around the classroom, slowly gauging whether or not to say anything. He's pretty sure he and Yuzu aren't being watched or listened to, speaking as lowly as they are amidst the louder voices of another group of students in the far corner of the room... yeah, fine, he'll do it.
He's sorry in advance.]
People... Where do I even begin... People here have been dying left and right — being murdered or turned into lunch meat or worse. It's been...
[Bad, he wants to say, or something worse than that since bad is an understatement — but Noah ends that note on a huff, like he's reluctant to admit there's an actual problem going on even though he knows it to be true. Where he comes from, death and murder and all that isn't all that uncommon, but being used to it doesn't mean he likes it.]
no subject
[ Well, she's immediately out of her seat and shouting... which is an improvement from clutching her head in memory stress? Well, maybe, but have fun with the next problem now. ]
L-Lunch meat!? Worse!?
[ Her eyes are wide now. ]
Y-You can't be serious, right...?
no subject
...yeah, on second thought, no. He looks mildly panicked for a second before attempting to shush Yuzu as eyes turn to them, and then attempts to cover his ass with a loud,]
Yeah, it was in the newspaper this morning, didn't you read it? My mom was talking about it.
[...and once eyes are off of them, he puts his finger to his lips in a shushing motion and shakes his head, resuming his quiet tone.]
Keep quiet about it. There was a public murder here that the non-transfer students know about, but the lunch meat thing... and what happened on the 31st... I'm pretty sure only the transfers know about it, with very few exceptions if any.
[Noah has a lot to explain, and he plans to explain it — better that she's prepared to face the hell in this school than just walk into it unexpectedly like he did. He rolls up the sleeves of his uniform and shows her his forearm, marred not only with battle scars (because Elrios, where he hails from, is extremely unsafe at the best of times) but his wrist marked up with nineteen tally marks.]
All the transfer students have these tallies on their wrists. I... don't know why, but it makes us easy to distinguish from one another, I... I guess. And for some reason, we've been... [He feels sick all of a sudden.] ...we've been the ones going missing and turning up dead some way or another.
no subject
[ She quiets down like Noah wants, but... her eyes are wide and she's visibly trembling. Murder? Tally marks? Her memories do tell her that she's a transfer student... and transfer students are going missing or turning up dead...!?
Not only that, but whatever these tally marks meant... Yuzu having three herself, she had a dead giveaway to the fact that she was a 'transfer student' and therefore viable to turn up dead.
She suddenly feels dizzy, stumbling a bit and leaning against the desk she just stood up from. ]
W-What happened on the 31st...?
[ She's going to regret asking this, isn't she? ]
no subject
Noah, an anxious kid himself, is literally useless at comforting words — but in his opinion it's unfair for people who just woke up to stumble into this shit. He feels bad because he knows that look of panic. Hells, he wears it himself all the time. But feeling bad absolutely doesn't stop him from continuing, because one way or another she's going to find out and he'd honestly it not come from someone like Komaeda.]
...it was when elections for new student council members were being held. I'm pretty sure that isn't how they're done, though. I mean, I was homeschooled, so this is my first time seeing a student council... The current student council president, Maya Arisu, basically made the electives fight to the death in the school courtyard.
[He's tearing up recalling it, clearly out of anger, hands clenching into fists.]
You probably haven't noticed yet, but the transfers can't leave the school... most of us can't, anyway. I can't. The point is, we were powerless to stop what was happening, and one of my, uh... my friends here, I guess... he was forced to kill someone to save himself.
[Noah shakes his head, defeated.]
I don't get what's going on here. I don't get how non-transfers don't know about all of this — I'm assuming they don't. I don't know how there's not, I don't know, city guards around or something that can stop this.
["Police officers" is more akin to what he means, but Noah doesn't have the verbiage for that, given that he doesn't come from anything close to this world at all.]
no subject
Y-You can't be... t-this is... you're kidding, right!?
[ She doesn't realize that she's short of breath, or that she's backing herself up against the wall. ]
no subject
I wish. I wish I was kidding. I'm not sadistic enough to want to participate in this.
[Most people aren't. Some people, though...]
There's... a lot more that's going on, but...
[But she's backing away, and Noah's at least smart enough to figure out that he should stop now. He's got that much going for him.]
no subject
She wishes it felt like a lie, like something she could blow off and ignore.
Sorry, Noah, you may have stopped but Yuzu’s already at the point where tears start to stream down her face. Why is she here? Why did she have to end up here right after making it back home? She hates this... ]
6/25 - probably sometime after school has ended.
[ There's a polite but firm knock on the door of 3-D. Sara ducks her head in without further ado, pushing back her bang as she stared down Yuzu. ]
I have some papers I was supposed to run to your homeroom teacher here, but I ended up busy with something else? Do you think I can leave them with you this evening? I'll treat you to something as payment.
no subject
[ Yuzu... hasn't interacted much. She's not been a total recluse, but even after almost a month it still feels surreal that she's even in this situation, so it does surprise her a bit whenever someone starts to suddenly talk to her.
In any case, she'll get up from her seat, where she was just... staring out of one of the windows and come over. ]
no subject
I can wait while you put them away, Hiiragi-san. You're a high schooler as well, aren't you? I'm trying to find all the people here who are actually my age.
no subject
[ Wow that is a lot, isn't it? Still, she takes them despite their weight and holds them firmly to her chest. This is nothing, it's fine! Just surprised her a bit. ]
Ah, well... Junior High, actually, but I guess while I'm here I'm a high schooler. I'm 14, you see.
[ Put simply, she's in the 9th grade, which is the last year of Junior High School... but also the first grade of High School in the US, so that can be taken as you will. ]
no subject
[ She gives Yuzu a friendly smile. ]
Oh wow, junior high? I was way off. [ Fourteen, so three years younger then her, the same age as Kanna - Don't think about that. That doesn't matter here. - She seems like a nice kid. ]
Are you doing okay with the workload then, Hiiragi-san? Or should I call you Hiiragi-chan?
no subject
[ She smiles back. Carrying a stack of papers is nothing to her, really. As for what to call her... well, she does look older, so... ]
Hiiragi-chan is fine! What's your name?
no subject
[ She turns away for a second to push the door back open with her foot and then stretch out a hand to hold it open for Yuzu. She needs to look cool for the underclassman after all! ]
I'm Sara Chidouin. I'm a second year, so I guess I would be Sara-sempai normally, but since we're in the same grade here, I don't mind Sara.
no subject
Nice to meet you, Sara! It is kind of strange how we're in the same grade here, isn't it?
[ 'Crazy in general that we're here at all...' is something that Yuzu refrains from adding. ]
no subject
I agree! It's so weird, half our class is adults! Isn't that blatantly unfair...? [ Both in that they'd already done high school and dragging them back to some sick twisted version of it was cruel...and also that Sara felt like she had to compete against a bunch of people older then her for a good class ranking. Hip-hop idols! College students! Fantasy scientists! It was just too much!! It bothers her a lot more then she cares to admit, and it shows in her flustered scowl. ]
And there's a good few kids too. So strange. You're not struggling to much with a high schoolers workload, I hope? I'm already bugging Noah about his work, so if you ever have questions, sometimes I sneak into his classroom an ambush him there.
no subject
[ Cough cough, MORIARTY. Still, he did give her the blanket that she's still using today when she sleeps, so... he's alright. ]
Well, you'd think I would, but I'm keeping up pretty well... [ As per whatever strange magics were going on, it was like she'd already been studying at this level... which she definitely wasn't, but she was definitely a diligent student, so that must have carried over in whatever weird double-life memories she woke up here with. In any case, she'll let out a small sigh. ] Just what kind of nightmare have I ended up in...
[ With everything that's happened in this month alone... it's kind of understandable that Yuzu's sort of just isolated herself without realizing it. She never really interacted with anybody outside of her friend group back home because of reputation issues outside of her control. That friend group isn't here, and she's been... really mostly miserable ever since arriving, so she still hasn't gone out of her way to talk to anyone. The most she's done is play some games with Chiaki and join the gardening club... and even then, she's not as social as she would be normally. Fortunately, all of the things she has done so far has been good breaks from the miserable feelings. ]
no subject
[ Which might be never! ]
I'm glad your keeping up. Really. Thing's are hard enough to have school on top of them. [ At this point, they've reached the vending machines towards the bottom of the school. Sara swipes first, plucking in the number for some green tea and then staring at Yuzu expectantly. ]
It is a nightmare. At least its one where I can still have tea. [ Yuzu had seemed sort of isolated. It was half the reason Sara had dropped the papers off with her rather then some other classmate. She wasn't very good at making a ton of friends...but talking to someone in need had been something - er- someone's favorite thing to do. The fuzzy outline of him leaning over her desk and asking her name still lingers. ]
no subject
[ Lord knows it's something that Yuzu is good at... and something she has to get much better at if she's stuck here. Still, she appreciates the company coming to her instead of her going to it, at least right now. Yuzu will go to swipe next, grabbing some lemon iced tea (fitting, considering her name) herself. ]
How... long have you been here?
no subject
Well, up until a few weeks ago it seems I was just wandering around in a dream. At least I was getting okay grades...but it still feels strange. The girl who was walking around wasn't really me, you know? If your memories are uncertain like that, its hard to know how long you've been anywhere...
[She shakes her head. ]
But worrisome stuff like that isn't important! I know who I am now! I'm sure you feel the same, right?
no subject
[ She holds up her own drink to Sara's and takes a sip of her own. Honestly, after all of the stress with Zarc and getting combined with your three dimensional counterparts... this was the last thing she needed. Speaking of which... ]
My memories cleared up pretty quickly, fortunately... most of them were pretty crazy, after all. I just...
[ She tilts her head back and sighs. ]
I've... spent too much time just sitting around being depressed. If I wanna go home, I've gotta do something, right?
no subject
Its fine...if you need someones shoulder to lean on for a bit, okay? You can take your time. I don't think anyone knows any answers yet..
[ She couldn't escape from one killing game, and this one somehow felt even more hopeless. Forget AI's and being trapped underground, how was anyone supposed to figure out how to escape from a magic hell school. ]
You know, join a club or something. Nene seems pretty nice, I'm sure she'd love to have you.
