let out a sigh for another day ( OPEN TO ALL )
WHO: Nene and You !
WHAT: Nene Yashiro explores a bit !
WHEN: Over Spring Break
[ This isn't the first time Nene has found herself in a strange place. But even that had been at Kamome, with school grounds she was familiar with, knew all too well even before she met Hanako-kun... and she had everyone she knew and loved at hand. Things were strange, yes, but she wasn't alone in unfamiliar territory. She didn't know anything about this school, save for scraps that made almost no sense.
But she's here. She's here, and she can't call on Hanako-kun to save her. ... She never did like being the princess in the tower, though. So throughout the break you may find her various places.
You might find her at Class 1-B, examining her own desk- or what she remembers to be her desk?- or other things. Maybe the teacher left something at their own desk! Or maybe she's glaring at spring break homework that has the audacity to exist. She's been working on it, she just is mad that it's there.
You may find her in the home economics room... or rather, rooms. If she's not going over sewing supplies- and stumbling over an odd coin hidden in a pin cushion?- then she's in the cooking room, looking over leftover ingredients and recipes. ]
Oh- I thought that I might be able to make something for us to eat... we can't just live on vending machine snacks.
[ There's only basic ingredients... but it's definitely workable!
Other times, you may find her in the Clock Tower. Admittedly, there's nothing to do there, not really. But she can see the outside. The sky feels wistfully far away, and the boarded up building and broken fencing are... suspicious. But there's not much she can do about it. All she can do is watch the outside world go by.
Between any of these moments, Nene is exploring less conventional places. Maybe it looks like she's just looking around... and technically, she is! But in her defense, she's been watching the hidden supernatural world for months now. The fact that it's suddenly gone... it can't be, right? The mokke have to just be hiding. They're probably scared too. Right? ]

[ Though his desperate conversation with himself is a tad concerning. ]
... Is your workplace okay?
[ It really doesn't sound like it. At least Hanako-kun would give her a heads up when it was time for something... aside from the Confession Tree incident. Or rather, she was the one bringing the problem to him, and they would go off to deal with it together.
What would he have made of this...? ]
no subject
[ and since that insinuates she likes sweet things and strawberries, he might keep an eye out for anything fitting the bill to bring to her, too...? hm hm, he'll have to see what he can get his hands on going forward...
--ah, he's waving his hand in dismissal at her concern, ]
Oh, not at all~! My boss overworks us all to the point of death, and I haven't had a vacation in a good three years, Miss Nene, can you believe it?! Not even a single blessed Christmas! I-it's really terrible, I have to admit, but what can you do...? Some men get all the luck in life... [ yet this is delivered with great cheer, despite it. ]
--But enough about me, no one wants to hear the sordid details of a touring priest's woes... so you're a student back at home, too, isn't that right? What year are you in? I bet you're quite popular, hm?
(she loves aoi so much and so do i)
I never thought that priests might need to unionize... [ And she says it with utmost seriousness, bless her- ] Maybe you should look into that.
Oh- yes. I went to Kamome High... I was just a first year, but it was really nice! I was in the gardening club there. [ She pauses at the idea of her, being popular. Hah. That's a funny joke. ] Ah... no. My best friend Aoi-chan was the popular one. But she works really hard and is really nice and pretty, she deserves it!
(what a cutie patootie...)
It sounds like the two of you are close, then? [ just two girls livin' in a crazy world... ] --Ah, but you like gardening! Do you have a green thumb, would you say? Maybe they'd let us outside for a gardening club, or something of the like...?
(yeah!!!)
That's what I'm hoping for too, but Aoi-chan and I also tended to indoor plants. Kamome had a small plot for growing vegetables, and we had a shelf of potted plants and flowers in our classroom... so maybe we could make something like that, too. A bit of greenery might really help with the mood here.
[ While she talks, she shifts out of her stool again to wash and dry her hands thoroughly- she ate, after all- and then... well. She was making riceballs. She's gonna continue with that. ]

--focus focus!! ]
You know what...? I don't think that would be a terrible idea at all, actually. I wonder if we could get our hands on some...?
[ plants, seeds, any of that ilk -- oh, she has a good idea there. he's going to go trot to wash up, too... and then sheepishly, from the sink: ]
Um-- Miss Nene, do you want a hand? Could I help...?
no subject
[ At his question she blinks for a moment before smiling brightly. ] Of course!! I was able to get some fillings, so we can have a good variety. A-and my hands are really warm so the rice sticks to me a lot, so...
[ It hasn't gotten in the way of actually making the food though! It's just inconvenient. ]
no subject
I suppose I ought to admit I've never made these before...
[ and is terrible at cooking in general, but this... should be simple enough, r-right... ]
Would you, um-- could you show me what to do? I'll do my best not to get in your hair!
[ sensei nene... ]
no subject
That's okay. These are really easy! And if your first ones don't turn out so great, it just means you get to eat those first.
[ As she talks, she's sure to show him how to roll and shape the rice, how to get the filling in and more- different ways to decorate with the nori or seasonings, for example. Everyone's first attempts can be rather clumsy though and she's prepared! With paper towels. ]
no subject
ahhh, he’s clearly endeared and is doing his diligent best to avoid being too terribly clumsy - food is a precious resource, so he’ll restrain himself from the usual shenanigans he would have otherwise gladly started. (small blessings.) he’s watching her, and he’s noticing something as they go... ]
Hey, Miss Nene... do you have any siblings? You’re quite a patient teacher...
[ is she used to wrangling and hand holding younger siblings, maybe..? ]
no subject
[ And that was for the best, really. She did love her parents, very much- but she was a latchkey kid for certain, and sometimes it'd be days between when they got to see each other. ]
I taught myself how to cook though. [ It was to impress a guy, initially, but. Well. Gestures to homelife. ] I can be kinda clumsy, so it was hard- but I think it's important to be patient with yourself.
no subject
Really! So you learned on your own? Ah, I'm quite clumsy too, so-- you're in good company, don't worry! Two left hands and all that.
[ but that's impressive, self-taught, huh? not a small feat, especially considering she's so young! ]
Hm, in that case... is there something in particular you really like to cook?
no subject
[ She can't help but giggle at the thought, but his question gives her pause. It's... hard, not thinking about home in a dwarf hamster, in a blue haired princess eagerly telling her the newest rumors and a blonde exorcist bringing enthusiasm into everything he touched and a pink haired boy with a camera, in a cold ghost boy who gave the best hugs and loved donuts so much it was embarrassing. ]
... Homemade donuts. I like to make those.
no subject
ah, but the soft look on her face as her mind wanders as his softening in turn. ]
Donuts...! A girl after my very heart. I quite love donuts... --hey, do you think we could make some here, sometime? I'd love to try them...?
no subject
[ So yeah, she'll nod along with the request. She can make donuts. ]
We can try to make those later, I think. I've been here for a while. [ she's so sleepy, dad, she just wants to make sure everyone can get at least a fresh snack- ]
If you can think of anything else we might have ingredients for, let me know, okay?
no subject
Abel’s nodding along, ]
Perfect...! Something to look forward to. [ this girl is precious and he already decided he will die for her ] Then next time you’re bored and feel up to it, you let me know, okay? —But no rush! I’m not exactly going anywhere for now, it seems, so...
no subject
[ Oh! That's... huh. Not the most chipper thing to say. But it makes sense- it's... it's been a few days, and everyone's struggling. ]
... We'll find a way out soon, but... It's a lot.
B-but. Yeah! It's nice to have ideas for later days! We'll have plenty of time.
no subject
...This might seem a little out of the blue, but.
[ Abel angles his head a bit to try and catch her gaze, and there's something a bit more serious, a bit imploring in them. ]
If you need anything - even just someone to talk to while we're here, you can come and find me anytime. Alright...? I'll listen, no matter what.
[ and he will move mountains to help her if he can. ]
no subject
So if she's surprised, it's not for long as a mix of relief and reassurance grace her features instead. ]
Okay. Thank you.
no subject
Abel's gently bumping her shoulder with his own before moving to the sink to wash his hands. ]
Ah, but-- thank you for the cooking lesson, Miss Nene~! I really owe you one. A snack and a how-to; I'm feeling much better already...
[ he should probably get out of her hair, hm? but... ]
Let me return the favor one of these days, okay? --I'll have something good for you to express my thanks!
i think we're reaching a good wrap up ?
[ There's a lot of people to look out for, after all. But he's a good person, if not dramatic, so clearly she doesn't have to worry too much! ]
Oh... you don't have to do that. But if you come up with something, I'm sure it'll be fun.
yes!! :>
[ Abel might be a bottomless black hole, and he might pretend he's reluctant about not devouring all of the goodies she'll prepare, but... a keen eye might notice come future snack-times, he wouldn't take any himself until everyone else was fed, even if that means he doesn't get some at all. look, he has a reputation as an idiot to maintain but he's a softie let's not talk about it, ]
--Don't you worry! I'm already cooking up something special, [ he taps his temple as he begins meandering toward the door, before offering her another broad smile as he waves his farewells. ] so it'll be good. Real good, so wait on the edge of your seat for me until then, got it?!
