[ The following half-cryptic message goes up in the early morning before class, at the exact same time as two people are let into the faculty office to talk to the Vice Principal. ]

Sorry. I should have told everyone a lot sooner.
I know that.
But... if I did that, there was a chance it might have become about the merit points. And no matter what, I wanted to prevent that at any cost.

The person who did it might have been wrong... but they're still an important friend that we lived with.
That's something that shouldn't be reduced to a number.
The fact that it can be is what's messed up in the first place.
So maybe I wanted it to be a message. Not only for that person, but for the rest of us too.

[ There's no further explanation that follows, and any comments, no matter how important, will obviously not be answered for at least a few hours, depending on how things settle. ]

It's a bright and sunny day. The heat is unbearable, with sunlight reflecting off the whites of the outer walls of the school building and seeming to concentrate right in the middle of the courtyard where it comes off the concrete in waves. In desperation for a breeze, you open a window— or perhaps you can't, and simply rattle the window latch futilely— when something large and black falls from the sky and smacks into the pavement, black turned red turned nausea and vertigo and the consequential darkness of the school when a blood sacrifice has been observed.

Black shadows students start to converge upon the body in the courtyard, although their efforts to drag the body into the expanding void in the auditorium can be thwarted by breaking a mirror and returning to reality— just in time to see a second body hit the pavement in the courtyard and send you right back. Escape once more and... a third body hits the ground, bright blue eyes staring lifelessly up at the sky above.

The sky stares back, dark storm clouds gathering in the horizon. Tonight, and through the weekend, it will rain.

✽ Please use the toplevels below for investigations. For some semblance of organization, there will be a separate toplevel for body investigation, location investigation, and suspect investigation, as well as one for general questions.
✽ As a reminder, npc students can open/close any window; pc students in classes with at least one rank (3-A, 3-B, 2-C, 2-D, 2-E, and all of the first year classes) can open/close windows in 1-B, 1-D, and 2-C; and pc students in classes that gained at least one rank in the past month (3-A, 2-C, 2-D, 2-E, 1-B, 1-D, and 1-E) can exit through the courtyard-facing window in 1-D.
✽ Unless there's an ic reason to argue otherwise, npc faculty will remove all three bodies by the end of the day.

Assuming nobody finds it on the 19th, they will mention that somebody did find a flour sack on the 3rd floor and brought it to the home ec room to shove into one of the cupboards, where it may or may not have met its fate as a cake depending on if anybody goes to retrieve it.

There are no disturbed tiles on the ceiling in the third floor hallway or bathroom, and if he goes up into the crawlspaces he won't see that they've been particularly cleaned of dust like with the president's murder back in April.

There is nothing noteworthy in any of the desks on this floor either, but if he does this while there are npc students still around, he'll be getting a lot of "uh"s from the crowd, even if he puts it all back. At some point in his running around from classroom to classroom, Lily May comes trotting up to him to keep him company. She seems to be limping just a little.

He'd want to ask the person who brought it to home ec where they picked it up from, but after that he'll drop it — rest in piss flour baby, you will never grow legs for ouma to take away :( He also only checked the 2-D desks and only after the school's cleared out help... He kind of do care about people perceiving him as insane fljkgf...

When he's all finished with the desks though, he'll sit down for a bit to pet Lily May properly and actually notice her limp. What's wrong :( Who hurt her... they're gonna pay...! Is the injury something he can visibly see?

The flour bag was found in classroom 2-E, in a corner next to the door.

When he sits down with Lily May and checks her paws, he'll see that there's a sizeable splinter in the pad of one of her back paws, a little red and swollen like she'd tried to pull it out with her teeth but couldn't get a grip on it, and it seems to have happened recently. He'll be able to get it out with a pair of tweezers.

Noooo... He'll go to, like, the art room or something then. Grab some craft tweezers to pull the splinter out, then set her down to make sure she's not limping so much anymore and pet her a bunch. They're friends now.

Meow meow thank you, she will curl on top of somebody's sewing project, whatever seems to be made of black and will suffer the most if covered with long white cat fur, so probably like a maid outfit or something, and settle down there. They're friends now.

She seems content to stay here than where she was found before.

Thinking about Saihara chasing poor Bev halfway through the school... Amami asked about that and learned the clue lore from before so now he's kind of wondering. Does it mean something? Does it mean something? He'll consider it and then decide to look around the room for a bit. Eyes Lily May's hostage maid outfit...

Lily May's hostage maid outfit is very cute, but still a work in progress. There is nothing of note in the home ec room, but if Amami returns to the classroom side of the third floor where he originally found Lily May and looks around the hallway, he'll see more of the splinters at the end of the hallway towards the bathroom by 2-D. The wood looks splintered in some parts as if broken, but also shaved down and polished in other parts as if it were part of something constructed, and the pieces are few and can't be put together which suggests whatever it was a part of has been cleaned up.

Around this area, he will also find some strands of white hair.
