It's time for another FAMILY MEETING!!
[There's a sign posted on 3-C on the 27th the future is now indicating that it's that time of month! That's right, it's time for the family meeting!
Lucifer is in charge this time and he is holding a whip, so please behave yourselves or you might get a warning crack near your head. Or don't behave yourselves. He's not your dad. He will, however, try his hardest to keep you all on track.
As Lucifer is also one of the TeamMoms Dads, he's also made everybody lunch as he is wont to do. The rather fancy-looking food is set up on a couple of desks at the front of the classroom to peruse at your leisure. There are cookies and muffins as well, but please try to eat a real lunch instead of subsisting off of sweets entirely.
On the whiteboard, Lucifer has written the following topics & talking points that he'd like to discuss with everybody, and has requested that you all raise your hands so that this can be done in an orderly fashion...Good luck, Luci.
Last but not least, the final bullet is one hundred percent something that Lucifer clearly wants to do, and it reads simply:
So that's... fun.]
Let's try to keep this more orderly than the last one, shall we?
[And yes, the cardboard baby jail is set up in the back of the classroom! Naughty children go to cardboard baby jail. Naughtier children get a whip cracked at them. Have fun, everyone!]
[[OOC: The usual rules of the family meeting posts apply, which means threadjacking/general mingling is allowed and encouraged! Please remember to only share information your character discovered ICly to avoid metagaming. Also no Lucifer will not actually cause physical harm to anyone's characters with the whip unless player permission is granted, I'm not as psychotic as he is, don't worry about it.]]

- Who is missing? Who is confirmed deceased?
- The gladiatorial battle — is it possible that those who died previously may come back to inflict further harm? Any guesses?
- What the Hell was going on last weekend?
- The void in the auditorium is infinite
- Results of last month's investigations that we agreed on doing
- The imps plaguing the school have been removed (thank you to Clamor for his assistance)
- Have we discovered anything new?
Last but not least, the final bullet is one hundred percent something that Lucifer clearly wants to do, and it reads simply:
- Instating a chore chart
So that's... fun.]

( okay, mood as hell, komaeda's not all with it himself, but he's not in the mood to talk about the location of his arm. )
no subject
[... but he does stop whatever bullshit he was up to a minute ago in favour of sitting next to Komaeda, like he might want to check on the stump where his arm would normally be connected to... purely because he's concerned about the mechanical arm's condition, of course, and not because he's at all worried about Komaeda. That would be ridiculous.]
Explain, or I'll go looking for it myself. I won't forgive you if it's been damaged.
no subject
( the workings of komaeda's arm is hidden within his sleeve, but he does flinch when he notices add sit next to him, and if he tries to reach out for the fabric... he will "cross" his arms so that he's unable to do so. komaeda's a nuisance, which is a fact, but that doesn't mean he lets anyone do anything to him. )
Is it that (arm)important?
( he sighs, tiredly, he should have known add would be so picky about the whereabouts, keep it up and komaeda will lead add to izumi's arm, i'm sniffling. )
no subject
Not the rest of this conversation, though. He wouldn't have bothered to ask at all if he was going to give up on it that easily. His eyes flick up to Komaeda's face instead. It's true that he doesn't know him all that well, but... something just doesn't seem right. It's unpleasant.]
... Wasteful. If you're going to treat your limb so poorly, give it to me instead.
You're moping.
no subject
( it's part of him anyway, that means it'll cause a problem anyway, though komaeda's aware that people are a lost cause around him — he should be used to that. he could give add his arm, and he could wait for some stroke of luck to work against him that he dies. though, that's not the problem, instead it's that his emotions are even leaking — )
...When I retrieve it, you may attach it back properly to me.
( he could do it alone, but he'll allow add to mess around with it since he's so concerned. lifting his eyes from the table (finally), he looks towards add. )
I didn't expect you to have the emotional capacity to understand that, you know.
no subject
You're being obvious... It doesn't take a genius to figure that much out.
Don't misunderstand my intentions. I'm just... pointing out a fact. That's all.
[Komaeda is moping. It's the obvious, obnoxious kind of moping, where you almost have to wonder if they're doing it for the attention... where even when they say they're fine and want to be alone, you can tell that it's not true at all. A familiar display of listlessness, wanting for something you refuse to ask for.
Familiar... yes. It's something he's very familiar with.
He never learned how to comfort people, never figured out why he should. But he's still here, fidgeting with some lint in his pocket, and he doesn't care about whatever the rest of the room is talking about. He sighs to break the silence again.]
It's annoying. You were more interesting before... I don't care what your problem is, so go back to that.
no subject
Don't worry, I understand, I really am lame right now...
( for reasons known to him, for the thoughts that settle in his mind, and he feels completely stupid for even letting this wash over him. it makes him uncomfortable that add sits next to him, wanting to even touch him, and komaeda only knows to keep his distance — remain unlikable. for add too, yes. )
Some would beg to differ, but... ( he contemplates whether he should speak about anything, confess to what's making it difficult for him to go back to normal — that's not caring for the consequences, living his life as free while ignoring the problems that he has. that's how he usually proceeds, and instead, he doesn't want his person to be the concern on add's mind. komaeda doesn't smile, but with pursed lips, he's thinking back to a few days earlier. )
Have you had your fill of it? ( sounds questionable. ) Roaming your hands over the body... slipping your fingers inside to see how it'd react....
( he's missed club since the 23rd, and even skipped classes, so he believes that talking about something add holds interest in will change the topic for the better. he really did want it when it became available to them. anyway, he's talking about ball monokuma, help. )
Were the results to your liking? Or did you make a mess...
no subject
But Komaeda keeps talking, and...
okay no he has no idea what they're talking about now
Add is still stubbornly looking away, but rest assured that his expression is one of bafflement at this sudden shift in topic. Roaming hands? Slipping fingers?? A mess...]
... I don't know what you're trying to imply, but the only one I've seen making a mess of any bodies is you. Keep me out of your necrotic fantasies.
[does this count as komaeda's "normal".........]
no subject
( he doesn't even know what komaeda is talking about when he requested komaeda's assistance with legion to take the remains of ball monokuma to their club room. it's fine, he doesn't have to remember those technicalities because they make no difference. what he does know is the way add looks at machines and robots, and the joy that comes from him as he's able to put his hands all over them. to be honest, komaeda doesn't even know if he can call it joy, maybe... it's a sort of lust, a desire that burns through his veins? )
What I do to my body is fine... it's unwanted anyway, and I understand that.
( hence why he doesn't make a fuss over his lack of arm, or sawing the limb, and finger form izumi. )
...I was talking about your new toy, you've been alone with it... haven't you? Even if you're loud while messing around inside, I doubt anyone will care to listen...
( he sighs, stating this almost matter-of-fact as if add should understand. )
no subject
[The direction of this conversation still makes no sense... actually, no. Komaeda is deflecting. He knows this trick well.
... but that's fine, actually. He sighs, slouching back into his chair to stare at the ceiling for a change. He wouldn't know what to say if he got Komaeda to talk about his problem anyway... so it's better if they just avoid the topic. Think about anything else but their problems. This is fine.]
The core must've been damaged when it was struck the killing blow... I haven't been able to get it active again, so it's just a pile of scraps. [he's only a little bummed about it. if only there was another monokuma he could study now...] At least they're interesting scraps... might be able to reuse the frame and components to create a superior machine... the main body is still in good shape, too.
no subject
There's no might to it, you can... it's pretty simple as long as you understand how it works...
( the eye is an important piece, it's... what makes a monokuma unit, a monokuma unit, but he doesn't know if that information is what he should pass along. instead, he stares into add's eyes, remembering how he said the others appearance reminded him of that one thing — but it's not like he's despair, but rather hope that's trying to find a place where to play his seed. if his roots don't make home in the place he chooses, he'll be lost to the dirt, a thought no one cares for until he acts on his own accord. )
Where was it stabbed, Add-kun...
no subject
Where was it stabbed? i checked and the thread doesnt rly say nms you tell me its your robot son we're autopsying with our minds over here]
... the main body is completely spherical, so you could say "head" or "body" and it would mean the same thing. A Nasod's core is usually located on the head... but there wasn't anything I recognized in that machine, so its core-equivalent could be somewhere else, I suppose.
no subject
If you take its eye, that should be enough... that's the iconic piece that makes a Monokuma unit... a Monokuma, aside from the two sides that it shares with its counterparts.
( he sighs heavily, looking towards add as he points at his own eye, the one with the blackened sclera. )
...What happened?
no subject
He blinks, briefly confused by Komaeda's gesture... but ah, yeah, it is just the one eye right now, isn't it? He doesn't look upset about the question, but it's still a bit... awkward is the word, perhaps. He's grown accustomed to everyone being too polite to ask, or to not have anyone around to ask. It's been a hot minute since he's fielded any "what's up with the eye" questions.
Add pauses, considering what answer would be acceptable in this scenario—what explanation he's willing to give, if any, if he should just lie, or if he should give a vague non-answer and leave it at that... but perhaps it's because Komaeda has been useful to him thus far, and he did just give Add a tip about an interesting machine. He's absolutely going to extract that Mono-eye later and see what interesting secrets it might hold, but for now...
He hums thoughtfully, tilting his head further to make the blackened eye more visible.]
What do you think of it? Does it disturb you? Frighten you...? I used to hide it, but that was a long time ago... back then, I only knew it as a symptom of an unknown illness. Something humans were never meant to undergo, let alone survive...
Living things should stay away from the abyss. But if you're willing to make the sacrifice... even humans can have the powers of gods.
no subject
Are you human?
( komaeda thinks of add as a human, sure, but people with talents are humans as well — it's jut that they were gifted with talent that makes them different among the rest. what he wants to know is that if such an illness is so potent, was add a lucky human only to survive? or rather, was he unlucky enough to suffer just like komaeda has to with his own diseases — two that plague him to give him his unhealthy appearance.
he can answer a question with a question, and he thinks of keeping it like that, but being asked what he thinks is different. someone asking for komaeda's point of view is only to be met with a response that they don't want to hear. rather than figuring how he should answer to that, he smiles slow, laughing softly to him as he keeps his eyes trained on that sole eye. )
I'm not afraid... it makes you appear pretty eccentric...
( he lifts one of his hands, reaching out to add before he stops, it's situations like these that komaeda wants to touch it. just hold add's face still, brush his finger along his eye to see if it hurts, or if it feels any different. (un)fortunately, komaeda's doesn't have enough energy to do anything like that, so his hand drops onto the table, and then slides back to laying in his lap. as he thinks, he doesn't know better when he speaks of the abyss, and so... ) If you mean the void in the auditorium... I didn't feel anything different while we were there.
no subject
Surprisingly, he holds still as Komaeda reaches for him... and even if he ultimately decides against it, he wouldn't have been fully opposed to the touch. It's... unusual, to meet someone who doesn't flinch at his appearance. No look of pity, or disgust, or fear, but...
Add is the one who ends up looking away. Komaeda isn't afraid... but that's what scares him, deep down. Add doesn't want to think about what it could mean, what it might not.
Let's think about the other questions for now.]
I gave up my humanity... but I used to be human, once. An ordinary human with no special abilities, who relied on machines to compare to the strength of others. [which is downplaying his bullshit, really, because inventing telepathic attack drones isn't exactly an ordinary human level of talent... but to be fair, his world runs on magic space rocks and half his friends are lv99 sorcerers or whatever.] And as for the void... what you saw there, it's barely the surface. You can think of it like... stepping into the water at the beach, compared to the vast depths of the ocean beyond. You think you know what it's like, but you don't. You've only seen the surface. A small piece still close enough to be connected to the physical world... but the deeper and deeper you go, the less those laws of reality apply, and you begin to see the true shape of the universe.
You can go to the beach if you want, just don't blame me if you get washed out to sea and drown.

( that's how he sees it, those mundane days where worthless people walk about with nothing to do for their lives, and they inhabit the world more than those who can make a change. if this world wasn't full of weaklings, then perhaps more exciting things would come from it. the less there are of them, the better: )
...Living in a world where there's no hope and no despair, it sounds boring.
( despite komaeda's lack of interest lately, he does seem pretty engaging on add's part. he has no reason to reject his claim, but he does feel like there's something more considering his personality, how well-versed he is in machinery, because what was the purpose, did he have something too that gave him reason to live, and solely for that? it's the type of hope komaeda tries to learn about others, what makes him move forward — that brings everyone together in his eyes? )
A death that easily obtainable... is hopeless, there's too much that needs to be done.
( of course, this isn't about him dying. )
Have you figured out how this universe is shaped, I suspect you've already took a dive in it?
( how komaeda would make a flat earth joke, but add has his attention... he's listening. )
