Pda. un: m.megistus

It has come to my attention that some people within the school do not believe that Astrology is a real Science? Well. I am here to disprove of such theories, and instead prove to you that astrology is in fact. A real. Science.

Merely because YOU don't know how to correctly read the stars. Does not MEAN that such Science is fake. Astrology has mathematical values and derives of the essence that the gravitational pull constantly around us. Delegates that we are effected by the alignment of the celestial planets and bodies. Really?

Are you trying to say that space is not real or that the solar system has no effect on any of us? Maybe you should let real scientists speak on your behalf if you are uneducated on such matters. Understandably so, but I am willing to teach anyone if you are interested. You can find me at 3-C if you wish.

[Really, the whole tangent was pointless—but, well, if he was going to be stuck here he might as well enjoy something.]

Then you have managed to achieve the barest minimum of understanding of what a star actually is, while offering no insight at all into your own capacity to interpret and comprehend their motions.

The stars are distant and—save for the most talented of astrologians—offer exactly no insight or influence upon the lives of lesser beings. I am truly impressed at your arrogance, for it is no doubt your most well-practiced skill.

Sincerely,

I have forgotten more about the inner workings of existence than you shall ever know. If you are truly so eager to prattle on to an eager audience, then I shall take you up on your offer. It will certainly prove to be the closest to theatre that this school is capable of producing.

I look forward to examining if your talent as an actress exceeds your proclivity for pronouncing yourself an expert on matters you barely comprehend.

Sincerely,

Emet-Selch

[To the classroom, then. It's hardly worth the time, but it's this or lying face down in the quietest room he can find, and he's already got that penciled in for most of his time here.]

[He did exactly as she requested, walking with his characteristic stroll before sitting down, elbows resting on his knees and hands clasped before him. The small smile on his face must be maddening—the indulgent, amused expression akin to something you'd give a child.]

Oh, do regale me. Without my powers, you may think of me as merely a regular person just like yourself—with the caveat that I am, of course, unfathomably older, wiser, and have altered the course of several worlds with a few words and deeds.

[He raises his hand with the fingers curled slightly, as though somehow inspecting his nails through his glove.]

But aside from that, I'm simply one of you, as far as you're concerned.

[He chuckles, he can't help it. The idea is laughable, but more than that, it's a reminder of just how small these people are. Even stuck in his Garlean husk, even separated from his power, it was yet another reminder of what had been lost to the Sundering.]

A god? No. I'd even be somewhat insulted, if it wasn't for that endearing sincerity of yours putting in quite a lot of work. No, girl, I am not a god. I have crafted gods through nothing more than my whim and my will.

[He looked at her and smiled, and in his eyes there was a coldness, a distance. He saw her, but it wasn't as a person saw another person, or even as a person saw an ant. He saw something twisted and broken where she stood, and he was unafraid of letting it show.]

I am the first sorcerer of my world. Emet-Selch. A pleasure to meet you.
