hmmm...the hospitality leaves a lot to be desired. it's such a shame -- i have a bad back and there's simply nothing to be done with the way things are now.
[please...]
someone should at least tell me a bedtime story so i'll have some sweet dreams tonight. tell me a story about something that's happened to you in this place.
alternatively: what's your reason for living? or what does life mean to you?
[what better way to get to know his fellow students than to ask deep questions in the middle of the night because why not]

i might take you up on that. i hadn't really looked at the selection in the vending machine yet...i suppose at this point beggars can't be choosers.

The vending machines have a pretty crazy assortment of food. Even the most picky eater would be able to find something, Kiryu-san.

[gaslighting someone about their own murder isn't polite, josh]
i am a picky eater -- or, i guess, i just have a high bar as far as my money's involved.

Well, your money is safe while you're here... I guess I should explain. You earn merit points here by going to class [ And other things she has no intention of mentioning. ] You can spend those at the vending machine. That's all the food we can get unless you want the meat in the fridge...which you really shouldn't touch.

i'm touched.
thank you for the information! you've been very helpful. i'd rather not have to eat out of a vending machine, but desperate times...am i right?

Its a bit late now, but maybe in the fall someone can make a cooking club?
And its nothing. It's hard when you're new and nobody's explained anything yet. Do you know not to spill blood in the school yet? That's the other big one.

[josh...............................]
oh? what happens if you do?
[now he's interested.]

[ Grants a lot of advantages though! ..Right up until you're to blame for everything that goes wrong. ]
You get sent to the void.
Which is to say a dark version of this school full of angry shadows. You can break a mirror to get back. Its weird.

[smh this liar right here]
really? that's very interesting...especially considering how much murder everyone told me goes on here.
no subject
[ So he's not even afraid of taking responsibility, he's just lazy... ]
It...ugh. Yes. It's an issue. Welcome to Yogen, Kiryu-san.
no subject
[yeah............he's lazy af]
everyone's acting like murder is some sort of pandemic, but isn't murder and death a natural course in life?
no subject
[ Jotchua.........]
Er...murder? I guess I could agree dying is natural, but nobody really wants to be killed right? But I guess that was sort of the issue, with poor Natsume-san...
Um, a teacher once told me something like: "Everyone has survival instinct's that kick in during bad situations and make us do whatever we can to live." So I guess I can agree with you a little...still we should all try and work together and not kill!
no subject
that teacher would be right. most would do anything for the chance to live.
[he would know.]
considering that this isn't news for some people, working together might not have gotten you far yet, hm?

[ Past tense. ]
Working with people is the only option... I don't care how far it gets me, there's no benefit to facing a situation like this alone.
[ If you don't have allies, you have no one to use, or care about, or to shoulder a burden. You'll have no one to escape with, and you'll probably be crushed under your own selfishness.
She's not exactly a good person, in her desire to work with people. But still, she really doesn't want to see anyone die. ]
