August Event
Please let August be better than July I'm begging
✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the storeis currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

[Who's dumb enough to spend that many points and fall for this? People who want out more than to be rational, he supposes, but still. The worst part is that Lucifer doesn't know where this came from or what the endpoint is, and that frustrates him beyond belief.
He turns to Meng Yao, arms folded over his chest.]
Don't tell me that there's a city you recognize on this list as well.

[ Meng Yao wonders more and more what would happen to those who take part in it.
Likely nothing good. But if he can get a glimpse somehow...well. He'll think about it. ]
...Lanling. [ ... ] I suppose some congratulations are in order to them. What with them not lacking in their mind games.
[ He sounds a little bitter right now. ]

[Lucifer gives pause and then shakes his head. He has no idea if Meng Yao is familiar at all, if the young man found himself on the elevator ride into hell or not, so:]
I'm assuming you know what I'm referring to?
no subject
[ He believes he can imagine how it would look.
Decimated by the Wen Clan, and the few he's ever cared about dead. ]
It is likely to be as you said. Though, I must wonder why they are trying to have every single one of us view an alternate version of our worlds.

[He breathes a sigh. A demon is a demon, and Lucifer will never be morally upstanding, but even he can admit this situation is fucked up. And thanks to a certain someone from back home, he has a soft spot for humans now.]
...reprehensible, honestly. That being said, I do not believe a single person within the confines of this prison know how to get home. Another likely explanation for feeling the need to show us alternate realities of our homeworlds is, perhaps, to convince us that staying here is better somehow? It's a poor theory at best, but I have no other explanations.

[ Meng Yao would love to have a nice conversations with whomever is in charge of this place and then divorce their head from their shoulders. Physically and spiritually, so that they cannot cause him any grief. Or to the few he's come to care about... ]
Unfortunately it appears all we have for the most part are theories.
But this form of torture seems more insistent than their last methods. I imagine they must have also concluded that it has been relatively...effective.

...I would be inclined to agree with you there. I cannot think of a better method of torture other than reminding those that you've trapped in an abhorrent environment like this one that they are, in fact, stuck for the foreseeable future.
It would be nice to have something more concrete other than theories. For what reason are all of us here, from different worlds, even parallel universes? Is there a selection process, or are we all just horribly unlucky? It bothers me, to be frank. And... looking at the board here, I'm going to guess that some cities that other students hail from aren't on here. This list seems far too sparse for the number of trapped students we have.

[ Ever since that Nurse told him how people are 'brought' here, he thinks that it's certainly more of a concrete theory than most of the ones he's thought of.
At the very least he hopes it also gave other people similar thoughts when he brought it up at that meeting...if only to help them not go crazy at not having much they can do with the situation.
His thoughts then come to a screeching halt as Lucifer brings up a rather good point. ]
I wonder ... why that is, then? Why are we among the few that have places in our world as available to visit? It can't be random, for certain. And it isn't like we're more special than anyone else...
[ But he's looking at his hands, feeling slightly uncomfortable, and so he'll just cross his arms, looking back at the bulletin board. Maybe to keep them from shaking, or just because he doesn't like the feeling. To be honest, it's rare that he ever has a good 'feeling' about anything here... ]
