Please let August be better than July I'm begging

✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the store is currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

It's either that or hiding something...

[He's not going to rule it out. He leans over a little in his customary slouch to get a better look at the surprisingly intact petal. He has... no idea why someone might bury or dig it up, but he knows where he's seen something like it.]

Strange... that's from the tree in the courtyard. Doesn't make sense for it to be underground, though. [It's no ordinary tree given he's seen it glow at night sometimes but there's a lot of petals, after all.]

It was likely just on the ground, not under the dirt.

[Why would a petal be buried? That doesn't explain why Atsushi would pick it up, though, but maybe it just got stuck to his dirty hands and deposited in his pocket somehow.]

I-it's probably not important.

[It doesn't go back in this pocket, even so. With a little bit of a resigned sigh, he turns to his locker to open it, with a combination he knows but shouldn't.]

Um, so... what were you saying about washing clothes?

[Small chunks and flakes of dirt keep falling on the floor while he looks through the open locker for anything useful, leaving the petal on the top shelf near the back.]

[Best to hang onto it anyway, Shin thinks, but Atsushi is already lockering it. Good.]

R-right. You should probably brush off as much as you can first. There's a broom near the end of the hallway...

[At least Atsushi hasn't poured a metric ton of dirt into his locker, so the spare uniforms inside are probably clean.]

Sad to say it's just bathroom sinks and soap after that. The water's a little pinkish... but don't worry about it, ahaha. It doesn't stain.

[He's seen it used and drunk... and it's been enough time for him to conclude it's probably not poison. Probably. Nobody has told him about the potential dead body in the water tank bleeding into it :' )]

[He glances down the hallway. It's a solution, and it's fine with him. He's washed his clothes in cold dingy water in a bucket many times, sometimes without soap. Bathroom sinks with a questionable water source aren't too bad.]
