August Event
Please let August be better than July I'm begging
✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the storeis currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

good bc i want a shuichi for every room in my house
[ He almost can't believe his year as a delinquent criminal at Shujin Academy was more generous than this. Akira sighs again - it's depressing - before turning to Shuichi with a mischievous twinkle behind the subtle smile he gives back. ]
Well, the company's not bad at least.
[ He knows what Shuichi is referencing - not just the situation as a whole but that time, their first meeting on the elevator, which he'd been lucky to have the detective guide him through it... and also see some pretty personal stuff of Akira's, yet he's unbothered when Shuichi asks. He nods - the upwards turn of his lips is faintly confident. He's had time to come to terms with everything. ]
.. Yeah. Thanks for checking. [ His fingers come up to push up the bridge of his glasses; with closed eyes, he chuckles. ] It's not the first time I've gotten to see what things could have been. I'd already made the choice to focus on my future... so, I can take on anything this place wants to throw at me.
[ Anyway, Akira's condition is good, so he's curious about... whatever Shuichi has going on over there, he's leaning slightly to peer past him at the crumpled piece of fabric and can't quite make sense of it. Nor that this place makes a lot of sense, but from his experience Shuichi usually does, so... ]
... What are you up to?

At least that's not the only thing he's reflecting on. ]
...Most of the people here sound like they've been through a lot, so I suppose it makes sense you can also handle yourself... but, I still think it's a little impressive. Even after all of that, you can stay this calm.
[ Every day, he feels like this place just saps at his already meager strength and he'd crumble if other people weren't around him. People who, like Akira, are able to keep a more confident edge to their demeanor. But, at the question, Shuichi snaps out of his thoughts and looks sheepish again. ]
Ah, um... I was trying to build this tent since I need it for club activities... But it's a little more difficult in practice than just reading the instructions from a book.
[ Or to put it plainly, as evidenced by the mess of fabric on the ground... he sucked at it. ]

To the compliments, Akira simply smiles securely - the glance he gives back wants to say you're stronger than you look too, you know. Akira feels like he's qualified to make that judgement, after Shuichi helped him out when they met that first time. But those words remain silent in his gaze, before he turns his gaze back up to the... mess the detective has left. Ah well, we can't all be strong at everything, and it's not like Akira's a tent expert either (he's a city kid, save them both) so he shouldn't be qualified to comment on it. As if that's going to stop him. ]
... Huh. Outdoor Survival, right? [ His hand finds his chin, inspecting Shuichi's work. ] Here I thought you'd be a survival expert.
[ Hasn't Shuichi been surviving this school for a while now? Well, outdoor survival is different than just surviving on itself... but it can't be that hard, he imagines the two of them together should be able to figure it out. So his idea of helping is to drop himself onto the ground - first to his knees, but then rolling onto his back like some animal, and just... shimmies himself into the crumpled fabric's... entrance, it's an entrance right? Anyway he's just legs sticking out of the mess, batting around the insides with his arms as if to try and stretch them out. Who needs tent poles when you can just hold up the tent yourself... or something. ]
Are all the parts in here? [ - he asks, as if he has any idea what he's doing, but they can both fail spectacularly at it together. ]
