August Event
Please let August be better than July I'm begging
✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the storeis currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

Mm. I guess I have a little experience in this department.
[ We'll call this department "costumes and disguises" and not "cat girls" because he hasn't actually been a cat girl before, just Watson-kun. Anyway, moving on.
He hasn't had a chance to so much as ask this guy his name, he's just playing the role of his shopping buddy to carry all the bags; and Akira plays it well, though he's taking a bit of time to flick his gaze back and forth to the items in his arms. And maybe sizing the mystery shopper up a bit too. He's at least sure he saw something that might work for the guy's last request; he pauses from where he was originally following and takes a couple steps backwards, looking towards the front of the shop's shelves where he remembers seeing a medium-sized file box - likely intended to keep school work in. ]
There's one up here, though I don't imagine it suits the rest of the look... [ You know, since it's a file box it probably looks pretty boring, and all the rest of these items are... so cutesy. ] ... are these a gift for someone?
[ Because what else would you need the box for other than to present them? Even more questionable... he wonders what kind of person is going to receive this assortment of things... ]

( trying to say he doesn't have eyes, komaeda? well, you'll take it back when you see watson-kun, and then everything will make sense — he'll NEVER judge this man's sense of style ever again. it's like a fashion model giving their critique on a competitor's design to let them know if it's IT or if it's SHIT. komaeda may have a few low marks for now, but everything will become loud and clear as he helps put the items within the box, but a gift...

[ Despite all the warning bells when a guy like this is coming for your glasses without any shame, call it Akira's fearlessness but he's actually not moving back; his shoulders might scrunch a bit but otherwise he holds his ground, making no move to stop those grabby hands if they wanted to make an attempt at his accessory. It's not like he needs them anyway, and he's sure he could steal them back somehow after... most important of all it'll feel like he's lost some sort of challenge if he stands down, so he's just going to stare down that hand with only slight bewilderment. ]
'Someones', then... I'm going to say I haven't yet. [ Since he's guessing by the way this guy is talking, it would be obvious to him if he had... but what's that even supposed to mean with this strange assortment of items. Cat girl cult? Cosplay model club?? Only one way to find out! ] ... But I'm open to making new connections, if you could introduce me.
[ Way too serious about this, but you think he knows how this school works? He's not taking any chances and would rather be on the good side of... the cat girls and whoever this weird man is, so he's game. ]

[ Sure making this sound more and more like a black market deal by the second... but he's looking at the gifts the guy is bringing and he wonders if he needs to do the same. ]

( within the box, he'll hold up a few to show that the other did do their job wonderfully, the texture of it doesn't seem like it'd be too bad on either of the feline's teeth, so that's a win. the way he rubs it between his fingers is kind of odd, especially if it's meant for a person. )
We should check for feathers, and miniature flashlights... that might be enough for now, oh—- ( one last look at his companion ) I'll also add you to the order.

Ah - that's not to say the last comment doesn't draw a reaction, however small. ]

[ A side glance at the shopkeep and he doesn't think it's that far-fetched that he might sell a person if given the chance, but anyway maybe Akira wasn't expecting to end up on the menu himself. But it's too late for him to back down now so he just nods back to the guy. He doesn't mind playing whatever this weird game is, it probably isn't even the strangest thing he's done... though the guy's observations on the box, and the additional items added to the order have Akira's brain spinning trying to piece it all together. ]

[ Not why me! because Akira already knows he's too involved to step himself out of it; even as he asks, he's turned himself back to the shelves to find the last of what's been requested. Flashlights are at least a plausible item - he's sure a student store might stock them for an emergency - but feathers? What's going to have feathers... Maybe stuffed inside something they could rip out... ]

[ He could at least make sense of the feathers in an outfit, but what would a cosplay idol use a flashlight for?? ]

( he says this like it's obvious, and the cats are still here within the school lurking around, minding their business. who knows when one of them might have slipped past akira out the corner of his peripheral, thinking that they're playing with him or something simple as that. if that's true, this is what komaeda thinks since he's talking to the other, and he doesn't seem to know where these are going that they must really want something to do. it's like he's validated, in a way, thanks akira.
honestly, komaeda should have been more hopeful and explain that they're cats. there's nothing saying that they aren't human, but there's nothing saying that they are — instead, he leaves it open for discussion, one that akira can have to himself if he wants. besides, the only one who will be confused is himself when he learns the lore. what it comes down to is that names are important, and the other can probably guess with those names of who they're probably pandering to. )
Lily May has white hair, gold eyes, about... yay high.

Bev has black hair, gold eyes, a little aloof compared to Lily who has a much vibrant personality. They stand out to the crowd because they're different, but we shouldn't judge a book by their cover... ( he sighs, picking up one of the charms in a box nearby to look them over — they look like this. i spent like 30 mins looking for this link, i'm in tears. ) I have a feeling Lily May would like you, even if Bev's a bit shy.

As his eyes absently drift back to the shelves, he finally spots a pack of those cheaply coloured feathers that are often used in art projects; it's a two-for-one with some brightly coloured pipe cleaners, so he figures he'll swipe that for his new weirdo-in-crime and add it to the pile. Again no idea what they're going to do with them, but he's given up on guessing for now and is just going with the flow. ]
Should that do it? [ He asks because he's eager to meet them and put a face to this mystery once and for all. Thinks he will probably regret this in the morning, but he's in for the long haul now. ]

( praise, even as he reaches for the feathers and pipe cleaners, komaeda feels like they're making more progress than they were before. he's identifying the feathers to make sure they're in mint condition, and that they're not too hard for when lily may and bev go to attack their new toys. they're perfect, purrfect as one would say. looking at the box for all they purchased, and then towards the counter where npc-kun is probably eagerly awaiting their cash — )
I'll pay for it, but I need everything to be kept with you... if we work together, this can be a surprise for them.

( his words sound uncertain, unsure if he should carry on or not, and the dramatic shift of the air might be troubling to those who witness it. luckily for them that the shopkeeper could care less — as for komaeda who appears a cold, and broken waluigi, his attitude remains the same for a few soundless moments. after bracing himself, he's quick to smile, throwing away that more depressed mask he wore, and a hearty chuckle follows right after. )

( he lifts his hand, reminding himself this is how he acts normal with others. one arm out, palm shown face up, or was it to the side... how does he go about a normal handshake, but he wouldn't really see his companion as just that... hopefully the change in personality doesn't phase him, because komaeda carries on in stride. he's too used to this, comfortable as he continues to show his excitement towards their interaction. )

( clearly he's joking, only adding with the humor that they've shared so far. he doesn't know the other's name either, so this would be a good chance to learn it... how else will he introduce this fine, young gentleman to two classy felines? )
