August Event
Please let August be better than July I'm begging
✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the storeis currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

[ Yeah, it... hadn't been the best way to start off her days here, was it? She's spent a long time just... being scared and barely talking to anyone.
Still, it's been a while, and she's gotten ahold of her thoughts again... and yeah, it was already clear to her that Noah completely lacked tact. ]

[And now he's interested, leaning forward a bit with his hands jammed into his coat pockets. Where he's from, there are a couple different "dimensions", but he wouldn't call them parallel dimensions.]
...what's it like? Was it much different from where you come from? Um... a few months ago, someone who's no longer here told me about her experiences with parallel dimensions. She said they were mostly the same but with small changes. That's why I'm curious.

Well, they were all mostly the same, just with different places. The dimension I'm from was called the Standard Dimension. The other three were the Fusion Dimension, the Synchro Dimension, and the Xyz Dimension. Ah, there's a reason why they're all called that, but it'd probably be really confusing to anyone not from my world...
[ There's definitely a reason why they're all named and separated by summoning methods. She'd explain this, but... there aren't a lot of people who know about Duel Monsters here, so she'd probably just sound confusing. ]

I get it. Um... where I'm from, we have other dimensions too. There's Elrios, where I'm from, and then there's the demon realm, and Henir — Henir is kind of like the void.
[Also the God of Darkness, and also there's a cult around Henir, so that's fun. If there are other dimensions, Noah doesn't know of them.]
But... you got to go to all of those other dimensions? Were you... [and then he waffles over if he should say this or not because it might make him sound weirder, but he goes for it anyway,] ...were you on an adventure or a quest of some sort when you went?
[Like, the world-saving type, but Noah hesitates to say that. Elrios is already so damn messed up...]

[ Literally none of her trips to other dimensional were consensual trips. The first one was a sudden and without-warning teleportation because of her bracelet, and then she ended up getting sucked into a wormhole after multiple kidnapping attempts, with at least two being successful. ]
Long story short, I was... important, even if I didn't know why. I didn't mean to get sucked into different dimensions, but it sort of just... happened. [ She sighs. ] Things just got crazier from there.
[ As for the dimensions she's been to... ]
Well, I've only actually been to Standard, Synchro, and Fusion... but I have memories of Xyz. It's... complicated.

As much as I hate to admit it... I was sort of forced into the role of a Damsel in Distress really. I wanted to fight, but... [ Things just didn't work out for her. ] But turns out I was actually one of four dimensional reincarnations of some person's daughter, which was why a whole war was started in the first place, and I got fused with my three facial lookalikes into that person's daughter who saved the world...
[ She sighs. Did you get all of that? Don't worry, she won't blame you if you didn't. ]

[He got it, on a surface level. Weirder things have happened on Elrios, unfortunately. Maybe not to the degree of fusing with facial lookalikes, but there's a bunch of mutants and cults and stuff, and also his own brother was impersonated by a doppelganger demon dude, so he... has an understanding of some stuff, at least.
Coming from a weird place isn't weird to him, is the point.]

[He pauses and thinks for a moment. Last time they had a hard talk, she got upset and then had a panic attack and, well, Noah doesn't want to keep pressing for information if it's going to hurt her feelings... so instead of asking more questions, he settles on,]
My... um, my brother told me once that when you deal with something hard, you should try to find the good in a situation too, even if it's difficult. So... maybe it sucks, but I'm sure you had some good memories somewhere along the lines, right?
