August Event

Please let August be better than July I'm begging

✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the store is currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

[he makes a bit of a face at his precious candy being stolen, but he also doesn't care enough to fight for it, so. fine. enjoy the wide selection of flavours.]

I'll expect a detailed report upon your return. And if you don't... either you escaped or died trying, the outcome doesn't matter to me. [but maybe he'd prefer it if Senku came back... not that he cares or anything...]

... What sort of place is it?

[ He's going to make a slight face at the blood konpeito if he manages to get one. But, knowing his luck, he probably does. ]

Mmhm, sure. [ B-Baka!!!!!! ]

It's a village that's settled on two islets in the middle of a lake. There are bridges connecting it to the rest of the land on one side. It's... my village- literally. I became the chief of it by winning a tournament- it's a long story. [ He shrugs. You forgot to include the part where you were married for like three minutes, Senku- ]

But, in a manner of a few years, it's evolved so much more than how it used to be- you could definitely call it a Kingdom of Science with all the work and effort and put into it. For what we could do in an age where not many modern resources are available, it's pretty impressive.

A Kingdom of Science, huh... I wouldn't mind seeing another one. Even if primitive resources can't compare to the beauty of Elysion, kukuku...

[but he can imagine it. even if it probably doesn't have giant robots, floating islands or centuries of lost technological advancements... if it's a kingdom built on the principals of scientific freedom, what isn't there to appreciate?]

In Elrios, there was a time when advanced technology was forbidden. Anyone connected to that knowledge, and those who tried to pursue it... would be swiftly eliminated. And after centuries had passed the technology of old had become nothing more than a myth, lost to the ocean of time.

If I had to choose between going back to that, or a primitive world of scientific freedom... kek, the choice is obvious, isn't it? [technology is, in the end, nothing more than physical matter. easily replaceable. knowledge and freedom are far more valuable in his mind. this is a very roundabout way of him saying Ishigami Village sounds cool.]

...You know, you and I are even more alike than I thought.

[ He chuckles a bit, realizing the similarities between their situations. ]

I didn't start out at the Village, truth be told. My world was hit by an apocalyptic event where most everyone turned to stone for 3700 years. I managed to break out, but after that it took months of survival on my own until I figured out how to free people from stone. When that happened, I met a man named Shishio Tsukasa, whos ideal world was one without technology or science, and just letting nature guide him and the people he gathered. I was almost killed by him because I stood in the way of that dream. But eventually, I found the village, and the Kingdom of Science and the Kingdom of Might had a standoff. Thankfully, I managed to prevent any losses.

The point is, there's always going to be people out there who try to get rid of those who want to pursue more knowledge of technology and the sciences. However, there will always be people who are curious enough to fight back and figure out what happens when they mess with different minerals and chemicals.

[ He chuckles. ]

You're welcome to check the Village out, though I don't know what's going to happen if this school has anything to do with it.

[ Probably something bad. ]

[There's something strangely inspiring about the way Senku speaks, how he describes his struggles and success... but it makes Add smile, and it's a genuine one, not just his usual conceitedness. A tale of knowledge and freedom prevailing over arrogant might...

It's like Elysion, and like how Eve survived hundreds of years in order to revive her people. The geniuses of the world, like the Debrians and like Senku, will always find a way to push back against ignorance and rebuild their kingdoms. The pursuit of knowledge is an inevitability.]

... Kekekeke. It's better if I don't. [him being a harbinger of destruction... he'd rather not taint a world like that with his presence.] Besides, it's as you said. If it's a corrupt version of that world, I'd only want to destroy it.
