August Event

Please let August be better than July I'm begging

✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the store is currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

Yes, I understand. Unfortunately, many students take school breaks as excuses to slack off and fall behind on their studies. But they could stand to be more diligent, even when it's not required of them! [And even when trapped in a hell school?

Still, Senku's suggestions manage to get a curious smile out of him.]

A trivia challenge? Ah... Now that sounds like a promising idea! Those can always be fun, and they can encourage students to put their pedal to the medal regarding their studies...!

Heh, yeah! Maybe something along the lines of Jeopardy, perhaps! Of course, we might need to come up with some sort of incentive in order to get more people to participate, but I think trivia games could get more competitive students' attentions.

[ Sure they can come up with the questions in a snap, but finding the incentives for people to play for is the hard part since they're kind of limited in what they can get their hands on in the school. ]

Hm... I'm pretty handy at making things. I've been at it for long enough that with the right materials I could make different items for people. It just can't be too out there. And then there's always more snacks as an idea. [ He shrugs. ] Do you have any ideas?

Well said! Your logic is sound, Ishigami-kun. This should be a splendid way to stir up the competitive spirits of the student body, which should reflect keenly in their studying!

[He's also right, though, about the incentives being the hard part, given their limited resources.]

Thank you for sharing that with me! I will keep that information in mind if anything needs to be constructed. You did also raise the primary type of prize that we have access to, which would be snacks. Aside from that, the primary idea that I can think of would be merit points. I suppose we could also offer... our services as a prize? Similar to the types of things volunteered at the student auction some months ago, but this time they will go to the winner of a trivia contest instead! For example, I could offer to tutor a champion, or... given that talent you just shared, you could try to make something for a winner...

Oh, that's a good idea, Ishimaru-san! I didn't even think of merit points- that would be interesting. Do you think Maya or the VP could be talked into the idea of merit points being used for this? ...Honestly, if we want to take this farther, the winner could get enough merit points for one of those exchange program trips.

[ He chuckles a bit. It's kind of hard to get so many merit points if you're not actively trying to farm for them, so maybe this could be a really big incentive. ]

But if anything, I don't mind having our services being the prizes. Maybe there can be three winners. Grand prize winner gets an item made or tutoring sessions, and the merit points. The other two have to pick between us.

I do not know for sure what they will say, but I feel there is a chance that they could approve. I could propose the idea to them for sure! [A beat.] But... currently, we are the only students in these halls due to summer break. That does cause quite the conundrum. The purpose of this is to promote studying during summer break, but they will not be around until school is back in session...

[He frowns thoughtfully.]

We do have our services! There is that. I do my best to be a model student, and I can see that you clearly are as well, so the offer should be quite lucrative!
