August Event

Please let August be better than July I'm begging

✽ Due to 10+ classes raising their ranks last month, ALL characters have access to the courtyard via the door in the locker area and the windows facing the courtyard.
✽ Characters with 1-10 tallies are not able to get any further past the end of the courtyard before they fall unconscious; characters with 10-20 can get halfway to the pool building before the same happens to them; characters with 20+ tallies can reach the pool building but unfortunately, the door is on the other side. There are no windows on the walls, but from the clocktower, characters can see that it has a glass ceiling, though they are unable to see inside.
✽ Outside, there is no breeze, and it occasionally rains ash.
✽ Characters going up to the 4th floor will feel that the door is warm to the touch, and will occasionally open (see: missions)
✽ The student store opens, with the door propped open with a doorstopper. The npc running the store is currently not interested in conversation, but may be available for threading in the future and is available for threading in the toplevel below. Please see the updated bonus activity page for more information.
✽ Posted on the bulletin board and also handed to each club president before break is the notice that proof of club activity is due at the end of break. Please submit these proofs in the toplevel below.
✽ There is another ad on the bulletin board advertising an exchange student program for the month of October. Applications will be taken until the end of August, and there is a 300 merit point fee. Sister cities include Death City, Devildom, Ishigami Village, Lanling, LazyTown, and Maiami City.

Okay, so, to answer your questions in order:

1. Tali is probably from a different Earth than mine and this one.
2. Dwarf planet is a term for a smaller celestial body that orbits the sun, has enough mass to assume a nearly round shape, has not cleared the neighborhood around its orbit and is not considered a moon. People say Pluto is a dwarf planet, but also the people who said that weren't even qualified to, so Pluto is a planet to me still. Anyways...
3. The United States of America is a country on Earth. An American is a person that is a citizen of the United States. It's not a particular race, merely a nationality. For instance, my nationality is Japanese, because I'm from the country of Japan. Most humans look the same in the sense of round ears. None of us have tails or any particular magic qualities.

[Writing all that down... StuCo is gonna be so proud to know that Noah has learnt what an American is!]

Oh... Tali is from a parallel universe or something? [Add knows all about those.] That makes sense. I mean, kind of... as much sense as something like that can make?

[And dwarf planets are small and not inhabited by dwarves... okay. Got it. Sheesh, where Senku comes from sounds boring.]

...so it's a nationality. [Oooooooh. That... makes sense.] Got that, too. That makes this easier, I guess.

...

Going back to the moon real quick, [because Noah has learnt so much today, we're done with Americans,] if you can land on it, [gestures with his hands like, both hands are cupped around a theoretical sphere,] does it... I mean, do things live on it? Like they would here, or on your Earth?

[Are THINGS living on THE GODDESS.]

Well, we can send people to the Moon temporarily, but we have to wear suits specifically designed for the job. The Moon actually doesn't have an atmosphere or breathable air on it, so we can't stay on it for long. However, we do have technology on the moon that helps us gather data and research- like moon or lunar rovers! They're small vehicles that space stations on Earth control.

[ It's fine the goddess has neat cars driving around on her now. ]

[:00000000 god lice]

Suits... [Oh! Tali has a suit on! It must be like that, except hers is to prevent illnesses because her immune system sucks.] So, you can't breathe on the moon, but you can send Nasods there to do research for you?

[Nods like yes... that makes sense. Clearly Add needs to know about this next. He's going to lose his fucking mind.]

...have they found anything cool?

[All jokes aside here, Noah actually finds this fascinating. Senku's always been fun to talk to, even if half the shit he says makes not a lick of sense.]

...I'm assuming Nasods are some sort of technology. We don't have anything by that name here, but we do have robots!

[ He shrugs. ]

So far, they've studied the surface of the moon and found volcanic glass! So there was volcanic activity on the moon ages ago. Water has also been found, and also traces of deep caverns on the moon. Humans could eventually make more stations on the moon within those caverns, so it's a pretty big step in learning more about the solar system.

[Robots... that's right, that's what Turing was.]

Um... from what I'm understanding, Nasods are a type of robotic... sentient race, I guess. Add knows a lot about them. [Add would therefore be better at explaining Nasods, who Noah's only heard of secondarily just from adventures and books he's read.] But... There's volcanoes on the moon? Or were volcanoes, I guess?

[Writing that down immediately.]

So... [Give him a sec, he's imagining a volcano like the ones at Lanox going off on the fucking moon.] Can caverns on the moon maybe have been caused by volcanoes from ages ago? Because there's clearly nothing there to dig caves, right?
