give your friends a surprise
Who: EVERYONE
What: FAMILY MEETING
When: 8/4, right after school closes.
Where: Student council room
Warnings: Eventually, probably.
["If my friends back home were acting like this, I would've already locked them in a room and forced them to figure out their feelings."
the job puts all of her considerable superspy skills to the test. she knows where every normal kid's locker is; it's easy enough to slip the note into each that morning. if it's someone who she knows would be unable to read the note, she tells them its contents, but keeps her own involvement out of it. lies of omission don't count.
the note reads:]
I have very important information about this place. Please come to the student council room after school ends today.
- Nao Sato
[and if the text looks just a bit girlier than you'd think she'd write, hey, you don't know her. she's got layers.
either way, it's a pretty interesting proposition: the student council room door is, for the first time in seemingly ever, wide open. anyone can walk inside - and, hopefully, most everyone should. because it's only when Stephanie thinks that she's got enough of them inside that she actually enters the room, shutting the door behind her.
click.
it locks. she grins, spins the key on her finger, and slips it into her pocket.
"How are you supposed to do that with grownups?"
the exact same way, she's decided.]
We haven't had any meetings since, um. Well. The last one. But, I'm pretty sure nobody has no more murders to report, so it shouldn't be too bad, and we can all just focus on the most important task: Getting along! All of us are on the same team, but most of us barely even know each other; some of us even hate some of the others! [SHE SAYS, LIKE SHE DOESN'T ACTIVELY DESPISE KOKICHI] So, I figured we could spend the evening fixing that problem. Play some games, talk about stuff we've discovered since the last time...
And, maybe, if everybody does a really good job, I'll unlock the door!

( to him, he doesn't even think she's struggling, he thinks that she's just doing this on purpose, and that he's obviously not getting under her skin. it's true, he does take what she says and dig his fingers into it, finding someway to make her words bleed and seem different. he can't help it, she has to speak komaedanese to him so that he understand. )
We're all classmates, trust is what's needed between lowlifes like us. ( lowlifes, that's what they all are, but their hope however, is so beautiful that it means more than their person in general. ) No need to be personal, I'd kill someone collectively for you all. It's the hope that I want to help nurture, so there's no need to be selfish... think of everyone here, and not just yourself.
( he notices her use of untalented, and its true, she lacks talent compared to the ultimates, but komaeda plays by his own rules. which means he'll do what he can for hope, not just for her. she can understand that, right? )
Leave who alone?

[ She can't speak Komeadaese. She just can't. She's not that good with people, she's blunt, rude, and honestly pretty weird. Sara's own weird brand of charisma has always relied on her being herself. On just having the strength of will to be someone others look up too. So someone like Komeada, who talks in circles, switches his opinion on a dime, and thinks very little of her...its like an entire language barrier. She doesn't get him, so she doesn't like him. Being opaque with your intentions is almost worse then murdering someone. ]
And this is why nobody can trust you... [ Her glare drops for a second and she just looks tired. One hand reaches into her jacket to fiddle with something. ] For the good of the group...or the good of one person. Nobody can tell what you're going to do. So what should...
[ She shakes her head, indicating over to Shin with her free hand idly. ]
Sou Hiyori...or I guess Shin Tsukimi. He introduced himself as Sou to me. [ It does sting that he apperantly trusts Komeada more then her, but she tries not to let it show. ] He's gone through a lot and the way you act... [ Shes not astute enough to really put her finger on it but... ] Dragging him around isn't nice. He likes to be in control.

( he repeats, as if he's trying to understand her usage of it, and would he call her efforts efficient? no, he thinks that people can only avoid him if he allows it, he chooses to bother who piques his interest, and others are left on the backburner. between ultimates and the normal people, he likes one more than the other, but there was a time he counted on the efforts of an ordinary girl to bring hope to the masses.
that's why he's able to work with the people around him, why he counts sara's hope in the grand scheme of things. no one understands that though, that komaeda does this for them, and never for himself. he's not selfish, and he uses that to his advantage.
his eyes follow her hand, but he plays it off like he's glancing at the floor as he sighs. it's a perfect over up, and he scoots a little close to her. ) You're afraid of trying to understand me, but you don't need that to understand hope is all I want to help.
( even if it means killing her as a stepping stone for the group, or to feed into every ultimate's talent. as long as they manage to take a step forward, grow stronger from despairing situations then... it's perfect. )
...
( his arms cross as he listens about "sou hiyori", yes, the name he hears shin give everyone. the emotional difference between one and the other is quite funny, he seems... stiff sometimes when komaeda calls for him. )
Maybe calm wasn't the right choice, rather... he's afraid, too.
( he's looking around to find shin, watching as the pencil hits him... at least it wasn't the sharp end or was it, komaeda can't see, but he looks at sara with a small smile. ) Is that it, are you worried that his knack for control might falter, or do you think he'd be the one to properly use me, and there will be nothing you can do?
( someone controlling komaeda? he can put the thought into her mind, make her uncomfortable with the chance that things could get worse. that's because he doesn't care. he's said what he wanted to do, and that's the truth to him. )

[Her hand tightens around the gun in her jacket pocket. The one from Russian Roulette, all those weeks ago. Loaded with a mixture of fake and real bullets, but Sara's stared down the chamber enough to memorize the pattern of whats loaded currently. She'd need to fire two blanks before she got to a real bullet.
This is his last chance. Sara might talk about the good of the group, but what does she really care about? Herself... So she won't warn him outright. So she keeps talking, even as he steps closer and she grips the gun tighter.]
I...wasn't thinking about that. [ Honestly, could those two work together. Sou is hard to read but he hadn't seemed very happy...but he's been hanging around Komeada a lot. She doesn't get it at all. It does worry her.
He's an important...friend. That's all.
no subject
( a hand lifts, waving it in a friendly manner so that she doesn't have to be nervous around him. is that why she's fiddling with the inside of her jacket, but he doesn't care too much about it. they're all friends here, aren't they? it's where he stops in front of her, a hand on his waist as the other is held up like... how the gays stand, we all know the stand. there's nothing wrong with being protective over a friend, especially one that's important — nothing like how komaeda is about his ultimates, but those that lack talent are meant to stick together.
because komaeda's talent is also small and unimportant, that means he can stand by them as well. for the sake of those with stronger hope. )
Tsukimi-kun is an important friend, huh? Would an important friend isolate another from people? I think you're pretty selfish, or you're that concerned! I don't blame you, I'll watch after all my peers as much as I can, too. Their hope, that is.

[ She could probably walk over and blow the lock off, honestly, but when has doing what Komeada asked ever worked out for her? Even now he's mocking her, acting like he's someone who can actually be bargained with and not just someone dangerous and unhinged. ]
If you want to accuse me, then I'll take responsibility for being selfish.
[ Komeada is standing pretty close with his little stance, and its not much effort for Sara to grab his wrist, stopping that little wave in its tracks. She jerks his hand down, drags him down to her level long enough to whip out the gun and press it up against the bottom of his jaw. Two blank shots. Then a real bullet. She needs to shoot him three times if she actually wants him to die. ]
I won't pretend this is for the group. So just die.

Chidouin-san... you have the eyes of a killer.
( he eyes stare into hers, she doesn't seem scared, and with how quick she managed to pull out this weapon... it makes him wag his tail (if he had one), and like a child: )
Is that why you have this? It's pretty cool, hey... ( his voice grows softer ) hey... are you going to pull the trigger?
( in the words of the man, the myth, and the legend:
he leans into the gun, waiting!! shoot! shoot!! he's encouraging, but he doesn't seem too concerned, and his lips even raise into a smile, sickeningly sweet. )
STOOOOOOP OMG JUST TAKE OVER RPING SARA IF YOU'RE GOING TO WRITE OUT HER THOUGHTS IN UR POSTS
[ He's not doing himself any favors here. If you get off on having a gun pointed at you, you should probably just die. Maybe she'll feel guilty about this later, but right now her heart is roaring that he doesn't deserve the respect of her hesitation.
Blanks are actually pretty dangerous when you fire them up close, like Sara is planning, but just as she pulls down on the trigger and steps forward, her foot slips on a small scrap of paper on the floor, making her trip forward, stumbling towards Komeada and the barrel of the gun to slip away from his chin with the familiar crack of a gunshot, but no actual bullet. ]
??? [She pushes off him, letting go of his wrist to level the gun again. If Sara was the sort of person who swore she would be cursing gods name into the dirt right now. She needed to finish this fast before someone softhearted (or Sou, well actually probably not Sou) tried to stop her! ]
STILL NOT HERE
...he's just going to quietly get under a desk.]
hiyori kun........... :)

very lightly] You’re just giving him what he’s always wanted.
[she figures that’s the most viable argument.]
just shoot sou where he hides at and we hear stephanie out honestly
Fell for me so easily, well... isn't that nice?
( he guesses, he teases, but as he's ready to try and get up from the floor — leave open a blind spot for her to try again, he hears a familiar voice.
oh, stephanie. and he turns his head to look at her, his lips purse into a straight line. to say this is something he's always wanted...
... )
She wants to help herself, is that so bad... sometimes that's all ordinary humans like her can do.

Y'know, one of these days, someone will actually do it. Even your luck isn't good forever. And what if you reach that day and you finally figure out that living was always the better option?

Stephanie, come here!
( come, come. is he listening? probably not, but he wants her to come to him. )

[pauses, cocks head to the side.]
If you apologize to her [gestures at Sara] and if you can explain exactly why what you said wasn't very nice, I'll unlock the door for everybody.
