fresh alien meat
WHO: OPEN
WHAT: Tali is new and very confused
WHEN: mid to late August
WHERE: VARIOUS
a:
[Tali's head was spinning. She had just walked out of the fourth floor stairwell, and then... Her mind blanked. What was she doing again? She couldn't for the life of her remember. She knew it was going to drive her crazy until she remembered where her train of thought went, but as her mind cleared, she realized a few things.
She had no idea where she was. But she did know. Somehow? It was a school, a human school, but how did she get here? They had just stopped the Collectors, and Shepard was planning on turning the Normandy in to the Alliance, so how....?
And why did she feel like she knew this place?
Secondly, she felt....hot. Not unusual, for one that lived her life in a suit, but as she looked down, ready to adjust the internal cooling, she gasped.
She wasn't in her suit. ]
Keelah! My suit!
[If you see an alien in a school uniform running around in a panic, please help her?]
b:
[After finally discovering her suit in her locker, Tali spent far too long thoroughly decontaminating in theshower private secret nurses shower bathroom, only to head straight to the nurse's office. There was no way she wasn't going to sick out of this. She needed to start antibiotics and immune boosters, immediately.
And, sure enough, if you come into the nurses office anytime the second half of the month, you'll probably see the strange looking suited alien there, sneezing behind her mask and sounding congested.]
c:
[surprise me! Tali can be found exploring the school, getting the hang of things, and awkwardly trying to figure out human food.]
[ooc: here's my permissions post with a little more info on her appearance! feel free to ask questions!]

I--- I mean, rarely, but yes-- [Tali picks up the pace to try to keep up with him, even though it's a pain to walk in these shoes while trying not to touch anything.]
I appreciate the offer, but I don't think carrying me is a good idea. [No offense but she doesn't know what kind of human germs you might be carrying.]
no subject
Of course that would be a bad idea. If I got close to you... I could unknowingly infect you! I am so sorry about suggesting the idea, Miss! Please feel free to strike me as a punishment!
[Even though that requires getting closed too...
At least while he's saying that, he's advancing down the last set of stairs!]
no subject
Let's just focus on finding the lockers for now, alright? [Maybe she could get him to focus on that again and not freak out anymore. But it was a good distraction for her own freaking out, trying to keep him calm.]
no subject
Of course! That is the utmost priority. [Now he's reached the bottom of the stairs and waits by the hall to the stairs.] Come, we are almost there! The lockers will be just past this door!
no subject
She's going to race past him and keep going now, scanning her surroundings until she finally spots the lockers.
FINALLY! Only--
Shit. There were so many of them. And they all had locks on them.]
Oh no. They're locked! What do we do now?
no subject
Ah, well, of course they are locked. They are lockers, after all! But what you need should be in your own locker. [Then, it hits him.] Ah, have you checked your PSA? It should display your locker number and combination!
no subject
You mean this? [It was--- ancient. At least, in her standards of technology. All the same, it doesn't take her long to figure out how to unlock it and find the information he says she needs.]
We're looking for locker 094. [Even as she says it, she starts walking and searching for the one in question. She sees the combination is listed in her PDA as well, which is a relief. As...weirdly familiar this all was, the number had escaped her memory.]
no subject
[He watches frantically as she checks her PDA. And the moment she utters her locker number, he's moving again.]
This way please!!
[He'll lead her straight to Locker 094!]
no subject
When she finally spots locker 094 in question, she rushes forward, confirming again from the PDA that it's the correct one and double checking the combination, before she begins to fiddle with the lock. She has it open within a matter of seconds, and as door swings open, she can't help but let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding.
There was her suit.
Actually, there were two suits. Which was great, because if she needed replacement parts, she had a backup, but for now, she moves to grab the familiar purple fabric.]
Thank the ancestors, it's here. [She turns back to Ishimaru now.] I can't thank you enough, for your help. Is there anywhere I can go to decontaminate?
[Something tells her they don't have decontamination chambers like she's used to. Sighs. She's going to have to make due with what she can and hope for the best, huh?]
no subject
There it is! Thank goodness. I am so happy that you found it!
[But the rest of what she says... gets a blank look from him.]
Ah... do you mean a restroom? There is one by the end of each hall. [He points in both directions.] And that bathroom is right next to the nurse's office, which... may also be helpful? [Depending on what decontamination means!]
no subject
Umm. Are there showers? And soap? [Because she needs something antimicrobial, at the very least. It might not be as efficient as her cleaning processes back home, but if that's all she had, she'd make it work.
And it was good to take note that there was a nurse's office. She doubted they had the extent of Dr. Chakwas' stockpile of supplies, but it was a start.]
no subject
Ah... I am sorry to say that the resources here are quite limited. The good news is that the bathrooms are equipped with soap dispensers! ...The bad news would be that there are no showers in these halls.
no subject
But they always made a point to keep sanitation a priority. Then again, an entire ship's worth of people could be wiped out from a bad bug, so they had to be.
She takes a moment to gather her composure, before she nods.]
Right. At least there's soap. [Don't mind her as she starts to pull her things out, and the bag of snacks falls out.]
-- Really? They take away my suit, but give me fancy Turian chocolate??
no subject
In-indeed! Classic, dependable, cleansing soap! May it serve you well!
[He blinks as the bag of snacks falls and eyes it curiously. He almost attempts to pick it up for her, before he remembers that could be a bad idea to make that contact with how bad her immune system apparently is.]
Now that doesn't sound so bad! It might not be nutritious, but while the school is on summer break, our food is very limited! So consume what you have wisely.
no subject
Anyway, I should probably...go get cleaned up. [She shifts on her feet.] When I'm done, do you mind if I ask you questions about this place?
[If he had places to be, she would figure things out somehow, but since he had been so helpful so far, maybe she could learn about whatever the situation she found herself in from him too?]
no subject
Dextro...? [A soft shake of his head.] I... am afraid that I have never heard of that type of... amino acid, presumably?
[He frowns and then he nods along.]
Yes, of course! Go ahead and get yourself cleaned up! I will be waiting here for you when you're done, to address any questions you may have, to the best of my ability!
no subject
Thank you, really. [She nods, giving him a smile -- which is something he could consider himself lucky to witness, before she rushes off to one of the bathrooms he directed her too.
It took longer than she intended, and a lot of quarian curses that he's lucky to have missed out on, but she finally emerges from the bathroom, fully suited up and breathing so much easier.]
no subject
[It sounds like that bag of snacks she got will really come on handy!
He will treasure that smile and be sure to store it in his memory babks! Ishimaru salutes as she rushes off to the bathroom. Then he goes over to wait at a respectable distance from the restroom's door. When she resurfaces, he takes in her fully-suited appearance.]
Ah... You did it! Did it go well? How do you feel now?
no subject
A little better. I can breath easier, at least. I still feel... disgusting, but I did the best I could. [She was thinking she might break her suit down and clean again by sections, like she would if her suit was damaged or cracked. She just wanted to get to the bottom of where she was first.]
So what were you saying? About where we are?
no subject
Ishimaru looks relieved that she seems to be in a better condition now.]
I am glad that your suit is helping! I hope that you continue to feel better. [He frowns thoughtfully as he considers her question.]
Well, we are currently in a school called Yogen. It is, ah, a human school. Class is currently on break of the summer! [He pauses, thinking of the experiences everyone in this school seems to share.] Can you recall anything of this place?
no subject
As Ishimaru begins to explain, Tali can't help but tilt her head.] It...feels so familiar. Like I've been here before. But I've never been to an active school on a human territory before. [Well, besides the Cerberus school where Jack was tortured, but that place was run down and hadn't been used in years. And they blew it up.]
no subject
[He's all too happy to relay information! Even if he appears to be stern and serious rather than happy.]
Yes, that is normal. We 'transfer students' have actually been transferred from other worlds. But we all come here with some memory of having been here before. It is quite the strange mystery! But in your case, perhaps that familiarity can help you with adjusting to this strange place. [It's weird to even imagine the idea of a normal human school being alien!]
no subject
So everyone here are migrants? [Tali doesn't realize he means everyone was here involuntarily, even if she acknowledges she still doesn't know how she got here.] Are the memories because of a Prothean artifact?
[Because that isn't a stretch. It's known knowledge among her crew that Prothean beacons can do that. It's how Shepard saw the visions of the reapers. She even was able to use those visions to understand the language.]
no subject
I am afraid that I have never heard of a "Prothean", so I do not know! The cause of these memory changes are a mystery.
no subject
Interesting that he hasn't heard of Protheans, but he didn't know about the Reapers either. Was this just colony that was more off the grid?]
I still don't remember how I got here. Does that have something to do with the memory changes too? [Surely it was related? She's still thinking it had to be Prothean related. Shepard didn't remember what happened to her when she had the visions from the beacons, after all.]
