fresh alien meat
WHO: OPEN
WHAT: Tali is new and very confused
WHEN: mid to late August
WHERE: VARIOUS
a:
[Tali's head was spinning. She had just walked out of the fourth floor stairwell, and then... Her mind blanked. What was she doing again? She couldn't for the life of her remember. She knew it was going to drive her crazy until she remembered where her train of thought went, but as her mind cleared, she realized a few things.
She had no idea where she was. But she did know. Somehow? It was a school, a human school, but how did she get here? They had just stopped the Collectors, and Shepard was planning on turning the Normandy in to the Alliance, so how....?
And why did she feel like she knew this place?
Secondly, she felt....hot. Not unusual, for one that lived her life in a suit, but as she looked down, ready to adjust the internal cooling, she gasped.
She wasn't in her suit. ]
Keelah! My suit!
[If you see an alien in a school uniform running around in a panic, please help her?]
b:
[After finally discovering her suit in her locker, Tali spent far too long thoroughly decontaminating in theshower private secret nurses shower bathroom, only to head straight to the nurse's office. There was no way she wasn't going to sick out of this. She needed to start antibiotics and immune boosters, immediately.
And, sure enough, if you come into the nurses office anytime the second half of the month, you'll probably see the strange looking suited alien there, sneezing behind her mask and sounding congested.]
c:
[surprise me! Tali can be found exploring the school, getting the hang of things, and awkwardly trying to figure out human food.]
[ooc: here's my permissions post with a little more info on her appearance! feel free to ask questions!]

b, sorry i took 200 years to get back to this sobs
He lingers in the doorway while she rifles through drawers for medicine, watching in curious silence... well. Silent besides all the sneezing. But anyway, hmm. Her figure looks a bit familiar now that he's had some time to properly look at her. He's certain they've never met, though. That usually means one thing, in his experience.
Add frowns. This is serious... he can't have a gross, sick classmate.]
How much longer are you planning to be sick? I can't have contagions touching my experiments.
[like anyone "plans" to be sick... also he's just going to speak up suddenly after being quiet this whole time, so hopefully she won't be spooked too badly. not that Add cares.]
no worries! <3
I...don't really have a say but I'm hoping not much longer? [There's a hint of confusion in her voice, because, uh-- did he really think she could control a cold? If she had a say in the matter, she wouldn't be sick in the first place, let alone stuck in her suit.]
no subject
Unacceptable. Hydration and rest are essential for a quick recovery... lay down over there and I'll fetch what else is needed. You're just going to spread your germs everywhere if you do it yourself.
no subject
It's not contagious. It's more...like an allergic reaction to pathogens I've never been exposed to. The "cold" is my body adapting, but I'll be fine. Hopefully.
[With everyone being from all different places, there was no telling what weird things she got exposed to when she was outside of her suit.]
no subject
He folds his arms, looking her over for a moment longer before sighing. Alright, fine.]
Just keep your disgusting fluids to yourself. One person being sick is still bothersome...
Difficult to identify in that suit, but... hmm, there are some physical differences. [like the hands.] What are you, exactly?
no subject
I'm quarian. I take it you aren't familiar with my people either? [Seems to be the trend, here. It would be nice to find someone that knew about her kind, but she'll make do, all the same.]
no subject
Not familiar. But that's not overly surprising... most of the individuals here are human, but it's obvious that the majority are from vastly different dimensions. Different planets, languages, native species, technological proficiency...
[he trails off for a moment, staring at her again. He doesn't leave her hanging for long, though, a faint sparkle in his eyes as he asks,] A suit like yours... doesn't appear magical in nature. Another type of technology?
no subject
So I've noticed. That most here are human, I mean. Where I'm from, different planets and languages is nothing new, but the people here have no idea about anything that's happening in my galaxy. [It was hard to say if it was also because she was from a time and place where space travel was the norm and technology was much more advanced, or just entirely different universes.]
It's technology, yes. As I mentioned, my people have a weakened immune system. Because of this, we live in exo-suits like this. They're designed to keep us safe from the environment. It provides oxygen, regulates temperature, and filters everything going into and out of my body. [She's...just casually not going to mention how it filters waste. The humans on Shepard's ship always found that weird.]
no subject
Suit that regulates conditions to make up for a weak physical body... yes, there's a similar technology developed by Nasods, though not quite to this extent. It's more effective to replace insufficient human parts for Nasod implants, but I've heard of external devices being used in the past as well. Of course, if the species as a whole shares the same issue, it makes sense that something easier to apply and produce like an external suit would be used. Implants require surgery, and there can be complications or parameters that need to be adjusted between individuals... easier to make changes to something that can be removed or replaced entirely...
[... he's, uh, mostly just rambling for his own interests, but at least he seems excited. he does eventually seem to remember she's there, though, staring up at where he assumes her face is.]
How does the filtration system work? Can I see it? Input, output—ah, what about waste? Does it recycle waste products as well? [good(?) news: Add doesn't think the poop thing is weird, that's just efficiency]
no subject
Sure. And yes, it does recycle waste products. What can't be recycled can be easily removed and disposed of. [Cue her taking the time to show him the different filtration systems and how she's able to change them. She doesn't leave any access to her suit open but for a second, just because she doesn't actually have to change anything at the moment and she doesn't want to risk a long exposure.
Ignore me being lazy and writing this out vaguely because the canon is SO VAGUE ABOUT IT TOO]The only problem is they have to be changed every so often, and I have limited supply here. I'll probably have to try to make my own, eventually. [Which... is going to be a pain but she'll figure something out. She's already been planning out how she's going to go about it.]
