• open — 08/27-31, around the school
( it's true that, the morning after he opens his eyes in the courtyard once more, amami doesn't waste any time on checking up on the people he feels like he needs to speak to. at the same time, it's a pretty short list, and half of them are gone. how much of a difference does it really make if he comes back one week or the next anyway? if he doesn't go out of his way to find someone though, it's still entirely possible to see him around the school — borrowing a sketchbook from the art room, taking some notes in the music room, or moving what seems to be an obscene amount of money into his locker. noticing the presence of anyone he hasn't seen in a while, he'll offer a wave and a warm smile in the midst of whatever he's doing.02.) and shines at the sound of your laugh
on the 27th in particular, he can be found rummaging through a locker that some might recognize is clearly not his. the first twenty minutes or so are spent haphazardly scribbling notes down from a series of stickies pinned up against the locker door. the remainder of the time is spent picking out belongings from the locker one-by-one to take a look at before he decides whether he should drop them into a backpack that's half-slung over his shoulder. to his credit, he doesn't seem to be interested in too much of it, putting the majority back in after a cursory glance, but it's entirely possible that it could stand out to someone familiar with locker 097. )

( have an idea? feel free to throw anything else my way, or if you're unsure, you can hit me up via pm or atkagehira! )

Oh, and you must've met Elizabeth. She's a little off-beat, but it can be nice when she surprises you like that.
( high opinion of her ever since befriending rika and saving saihara's life, you know. now hinata's just been added to the list. maybe he should look into getting her another thesaurus... oh, but in the meantime! questions. he gets it, the feeling of not being in the know, so it's the least he can do to help fill in some of the blanks. )
Anyway, if you're talking about the club, I'm pretty sure most of our members are just around for the free sleeping bags to tell you the truth. They're a lot more comfortable than the floors here.
( or, like, at least moderately so. )

[He's still, honestly, kind of shell-shocked by it... But it's hardly the first thing that's disrupted Hinata's firm sense of logic since he woke up
He can't help it though; it's so unexpected that Amami's description coaxes a snort out of him.]
Seriously, what a lax club... They actually let us get away with that? [As someone constantly overworked, Hinata never would have seen himself joining that sort of club... But maybe that's precisely why Past Hinata had something right.] With a name like "survival club", I would've thought we'd do the exact opposite, like getting out into the wilderness for a few days or something.

I mean, hey, if we could've gone outside when I first got here, I'd have been up for it. But nah, we could barely get into the courtyard, never mind the woods off-campus. I guess you could say we were "surviving" with what we could scrounge up from inside the school — including the sleeping bags.
( he shrugs, clearly pretty amused with the critical take, and not too bothered; not like he's the one who set it up. )
It'd be helpful if you could share something to prove we've done some "club activities" too though, or they really will shut us down.
( not that they'll? really need sleeping bags once the dorms finish up, but it's fine. maybe he's just sentimental as a person who actually has interest in the topic of this club. )

[Hinata rubs at his arms, feels a chill run up them. He doesn't want to have amnesia at all, but... He honestly can't help but be a little glad. He isn't sure he'd want to remember that, being trapped without a way to even get any fresh air.]
...Anyway, sorry. [Hinata shakes his head. Even if it happens to him sometimes, it's better not to get caught up on things that are already past.] I'll try to do what I can, but... I'm not even sure what I joined a club like this for. I haven't been outdoors since I was... in elementary school, I think? I don't remember it very well, aside from the vague feeling that I had fun.
[It's sad, almost bittersweet - except Hinata has no way to know it's bittersweet. No way to know he's said these words before he passed on a very important thing.]
Ah, but- I don't want us to get closed down or anything, so... [Hinata's expression is full of uncertainty, but there's still determination in the set of his jaw.] Even if I don't know much about it, I'll try and do my best to learn.

Well for me, I know I joined for the sleeping bag and the toothbrush, so no need to take it too seriously.
( noticing that determination — because more and more, hinata-kun's seeming like the type who isn't able to go into things half-heartedly if he wanted to. as far as amami's concerned, it's a school club, so it's really not so life-or-death now that they've got dorms. if they get shut down, they'll live. )
If you're willing to do some club activities though, I know a little bit about this kind of thing. Helena was also practicing with tying knots, and Komaeda-kun's been pretty into catching dragonflies too. If nothing else, it's been a pretty good way to fill the time between classes.
