( it starts out small. a need for comfort food, and a need for something heartfelt but silly and fun, something genuine and kind. ... and, well, she did find a weird. bootleg vhs set of her favorite movie series, hamster space wars. but the dorm is only barely furnished- and it's not like they can just go out and buy a tv or anything. honestly she completely doubts there's even anything beyond the woods. but she remembers a teacher playing the thing and other stuff in the first month of all of this. 

it's so long ago...

but there's a television and a vhs player in the school. and nene... nene's tired and sad and is currently out of fucks to give, so at some point in the day, after everyone else has left, nene has returned to the school and, uh. "borrowed" both things. it's fine. they just have to get it back in by sunday evening. don't worry about it. like, it's definitely heavy but she's a tough cookie who tills soil and everything, and also sara and noah both witnessed everything and are accomplices by default, so they had to help carry things too. 

(they were completely happy to help on both accounts, she asked very nicely.) 

so the "borrowed" television is set up across from one of the larger couches, and the vhs on top of it. she had cookies in the oven, donuts and hot chocolate made and popcorn popped. the common room paintings are covered with sheets of cloth. all that was left was something cozy- but at this point, nene's made so many little cushions and blankets and even cozy pjs that that's super easy. all that was left was letting anyone who wanted to come know too. so at some point in the halls, nene walks down calling out: )

Cartoons in the common room! Bring blankets and stuff! 

( and, so everyone knows what their characters are getting into: hamster space wars is a movie series about different factions of hamsters that have been trying for cross planetary peace for ages now, with a villainous faction having sabotaged the final negotiations so they can control the war from the shadows to make the most money and also get the most seeds (Very Decadent). the first movie follows the main hamster and his little group trying to escape the villains after having witnessed the sabotage, and are trying to avoid assassination and end the war for good. the sequels follow allied factions, with hamster galactic wars being the Thrilling Conclusion. 

it's heartfelt. it's silly. it's very cute. nene loves it. )

Going door to door's not a bad idea, but we're actually in the middle of a sleepover! I don't mind helping out though, you know I'd do anything for you~. [because. theyre friends.] It'll be easy to show 'em off the everyone and make a fun game out of selling them!

[he'll give all profits to npc-kun once it's done ofc the "game" is winnings enough for him]

Oh, um. I can show you my prettiest rocks, but it'd be better if I hold onto them, just in case somebody tries to steal them.

100,000 yen is a fair starting price, right?

'Kay. But I don't think anyone has 100,000 yen as a starting price here... We're pretty broke and living in a school, you know?

[they're in the same boat, npc-kun and the transfers.]

We could shoot for... like... maybe 1,000 yen as a start? 5,000 for the reaaaally pretty ones? I can hype 'em up pretty good on top of that.

[ sighs, why is everybody broke, why is it that their first two customers were filthy rich Ultimates and got npc-kun's hopes up for no reason. ]

I guess that'll be fine... As long as you hype them up really really good! The harder you work, the closer you'll be to that hundred million yen lunch!

[they Are nervous... it's okay. subaru's here, and so are several of npc-kun's other friends. they can take it slow to the common room.]

Nene, by faaar. She's so sweet, as long as you're good to her she'll be good to you! And she likes hugs. Aira's pretty easy to get to know too; he's a little shy and nervous, but he's a good guy I'd totally rec as a target!

Actually, I've got a small list of people who're total no sales if that's easier. ☆ People who won't let you get close no matter what, or are suuuuper difficult in figuring out how to pitch a sale to. I think that's pretty useful too, y'know? So you don't waste your time. ☆

Oh, no problem! But I'll bet a couple of 'em have already come by, 'cause they're the type of people who like sticking their noses places.

[they're just... people he doesn't want npckun to be interacting with too much, really...

like komaeda. and rika. they're total wildcards. dangerous wildcards. little does subaru know for one of them at least............]

I guess... if you pitch it to people like them purely on a weapon standpoint, they'd be willing to buy your stock. They're that sort.

I don't either! They're a lot nice just to hold and look at, especially the polished ones... but they'd think they're boring unless they had a purpose that suited their needs, so that's why it's a total bust to try and seriously peddle anything off on them.

But they have lots of purpose! Like being nice to hold and look at!!

And you can make simple necklaces and stuff with them too! There's a lotta good a rock can do without it being used to totally brain someone!

You've bought a couple rocks, right? Maybe people just don't know how to use them— have everybody bring theirs out and we can show people how to make necklaces and stuff, and the people who don't have rocks will have to buy rocks, and the people who do will run out of rocks and will have to buy rocks!

We need string or, ideally, thin chains for the necklace.

[ That's the necklace part down, at least. But the rocks, hmm hmmmm ]

There's something called a bell cap— the dangly bit on normal necklaces— that you can glue rocks to after you bend the clasps to fit the shape of the rock. If you don't have that, a thin wire will also work, to wrap around the rock and make a loop to string the necklace through.

Then we should totally make some! It sounds easy enough, we just need the materials for it! Then people'll really wanna buy 'em up, the necklaces and rocks both!

Well... I dunno, actually. Some of the more studious of us might have some they wouldn't miss, but I feel like a lecture from Steph and Lena wouldn't be worth getting caught.
