What: Movie Night + Slumber Party

Where: Dorm Common Room
Warnings: A ridiculous amount of Fluff, probably
( it starts out small. a need for comfort food, and a need for something heartfelt but silly and fun, something genuine and kind. ... and, well, she did find a weird. bootleg vhs set of her favorite movie series, hamster space wars. but the dorm is only barely furnished- and it's not like they can just go out and buy a tv or anything. honestly she completely doubts there's even anything beyond the woods. but she remembers a teacher playing the thing and other stuff in the first month of all of this.
it's so long ago...
but there's a television and a vhs player in the school. and nene... nene's tired and sad and is currently out of fucks to give, so at some point in the day, after everyone else has left, nene has returned to the school and, uh. "borrowed" both things. it's fine. they just have to get it back in by sunday evening. don't worry about it. like, it's definitely heavy but she's a tough cookie who tills soil and everything, and also sara and noah both witnessed everything and are accomplices by default, so they had to help carry things too.
(they were completely happy to help on both accounts, she asked very nicely.)
so the "borrowed" television is set up across from one of the larger couches, and the vhs on top of it. she had cookies in the oven, donuts and hot chocolate made and popcorn popped. the common room paintings are covered with sheets of cloth. all that was left was something cozy- but at this point, nene's made so many little cushions and blankets and even cozy pjs that that's super easy. all that was left was letting anyone who wanted to come know too. so at some point in the halls, nene walks down calling out: )
Cartoons in the common room! Bring blankets and stuff!
( and, so everyone knows what their characters are getting into: hamster space wars is a movie series about different factions of hamsters that have been trying for cross planetary peace for ages now, with a villainous faction having sabotaged the final negotiations so they can control the war from the shadows to make the most money and also get the most seeds (Very Decadent). the first movie follows the main hamster and his little group trying to escape the villains after having witnessed the sabotage, and are trying to avoid assassination and end the war for good. the sequels follow allied factions, with hamster galactic wars being the Thrilling Conclusion.
it's heartfelt. it's silly. it's very cute. nene loves it. )

Once they take the pen, they do set on writing their name on the paper with terrible handwriting.]
But he already lost all the seeds...uu. Everyone is mad at him. Dealing with something like that is impossible!

That is not impossible at all. [Ishimaru shakes his head softly.] He has a chance to atone for his mistakes and redeem himself. He can still make things right!

I don't know, Ishimaru. I'm working a lot harder these days like you said, but sometimes I think there are mistakes I can't fix.

[Well, that's some kind of report at least. ...And now, well, it really feels like they're not talking about the movie anymore.]
The sad truth is that there are some mistakes that cannot be fixed. But it can be hard the difference for sure. That is why you should still try your best at making things better! And if it is truly impossible to correct some mistakes... than it is simply time to move on and find a different ones to fix instead.

[ At least they're not saying they can't deal with it... They scribble something by the hamster drawing. ] I should ask you things more, because I don't have good answers for anything. Focusing on something else, I haven't really thought about that. What's the difference between that and running away?
I mean...if I wanted to deal with something, when do I even know if its ok to not deal with it anymore?

I- I see. Well, these are somewhat complex questions, but I want to do my best to guide you. The difference is that running away involves abandoning and trying to forget your problem entirely. But the alternative is to try your best at facing the initial problem, and to focus on a different problem instead if it seems insurmountable. That may make things easier on you!
And, well... The concept of giving up on something is very difficult and hard to accept. But I suppose it would be when... no matter what you try, nothing seems to work. And it brings you only pain and further hardship. Those would be... considerable factors.

Oh...sorry I didn't mean to ask something hard. Usually, I don' know things and sometimes they're actually really simple. But this one is actually hard...
[ It's a lot like what they've believe all their life, that if you don't know how to deal with someone you should avoid it till you have to...but its different somehow. They're not smart enough to pinpoint how, but they nod slowly, trying to digest everything he's saying. ]
Dealing with hardship...um. I'm sorry I still don't really get the difference between hard things and pointless things. I guess I'll be as bad at giving up as I am at being determined. But I'll try and remember this, Ishimaru. I want to focus on what's important.

My thoughts? Well, it may seem quite outlandish and unrealistic, but this film has a strong emotional core! I am very invested in their struggles, and I am hoping that this will all lead up to a peaceful ending!

You've met talking cats...? I suppose that is not too surprising, considering that a talking dog went to this school as well. But typically, animals talking and flying spaceships is certainly an outlandish concept!

No, that is not necessarily true. While it's always possible that disagreements over the seeds can lead to further conflict, it is also possible that the seeds can be distributed fairly, and that all factions can maintain peace with each other. We have to believe that such things are possible!
