i don't want to survive, i want to live
Who: Yes
What: Movie Night + Slumber Party
When: 9/11, Saturday Evening
Where: Dorm Common Room
Warnings: A ridiculous amount of Fluff, probably
( it starts out small. a need for comfort food, and a need for something heartfelt but silly and fun, something genuine and kind. ... and, well, she did find a weird. bootleg vhs set of her favorite movie series, hamster space wars. but the dorm is only barely furnished- and it's not like they can just go out and buy a tv or anything. honestly she completely doubts there's even anything beyond the woods. but she remembers a teacher playing the thing and other stuff in the first month of all of this.
it's so long ago...
but there's a television and a vhs player in the school. and nene... nene's tired and sad and is currently out of fucks to give, so at some point in the day, after everyone else has left, nene has returned to the school and, uh. "borrowed" both things. it's fine. they just have to get it back in by sunday evening. don't worry about it. like, it's definitely heavy but she's a tough cookie who tills soil and everything, and also sara and noah both witnessed everything and are accomplices by default, so they had to help carry things too.
(they were completely happy to help on both accounts, she asked very nicely.)
so the "borrowed" television is set up across from one of the larger couches, and the vhs on top of it. she had cookies in the oven, donuts and hot chocolate made and popcorn popped. the common room paintings are covered with sheets of cloth. all that was left was something cozy- but at this point, nene's made so many little cushions and blankets and even cozy pjs that that's super easy. all that was left was letting anyone who wanted to come know too. so at some point in the halls, nene walks down calling out: )
Cartoons in the common room! Bring blankets and stuff!
( and, so everyone knows what their characters are getting into: hamster space wars is a movie series about different factions of hamsters that have been trying for cross planetary peace for ages now, with a villainous faction having sabotaged the final negotiations so they can control the war from the shadows to make the most money and also get the most seeds (Very Decadent). the first movie follows the main hamster and his little group trying to escape the villains after having witnessed the sabotage, and are trying to avoid assassination and end the war for good. the sequels follow allied factions, with hamster galactic wars being the Thrilling Conclusion.
it's heartfelt. it's silly. it's very cute. nene loves it. )

( "my" authentication? "our" authentication, komaeda thinks. his organic hand holds onto dynamo, making sure not to drop it at all, keeping it secured in his grasp as he holds out his arm for the other to see. )
I should thank you for fixing my arm awhile back, I understand I shouldn't be so rough... is there a way you could make it more durable, just in case I'm placed in that position again.
( he hums, bending his fingers as the machine whirrs loudly, something that komaeda could live without as well... it gives away his location, but it's something that can't be helped. ) I know you're committed to an Ultimate's talents in this... so I wouldn't want you to lose that chance from my mishandling.

... and then Add goes right back to his internal monologuing, give him a minute to sort out his thoughts. can he install Nasod tech in Komaeda...? it's finicky technology when it comes to human hybridization, there's a good reason why King Nasod opted to clone their successful experiment instead of seeking out more humans to work on... but he already has a mechanical implant, so all Add really needs to do is make that compatible with Nasod tech, not necessarily Komaeda's human body. hmmmmmmm...
...
...
...
he reaches out to hold Komaeda's metal hand... and then brusquely pulls up his sleeve to show the whole arm, staring at it intently.]
Measurements... I'd like to check the weight as well. Hmm, how much additional weight can it handle? Five, ten more kilograms? I can shave some off if needed, but thicker blades are more effective.

his skin clipped into the machine, a little past his elbow, but the metal material doesn't hang heavy when it's operational, it feels lightweight to him, so the idea of adding more interests him, though there's this attachment to the original. crafted by ultimates, one that is basically god of their world, one imbued with hope, and so he hums in thought. )
Would you be able to hold the original data that this was made of both the Ultimate Hope and the Ultimate Mechanic's intelligence... I'm sure it would have been different if it was just him, but...
( ultimate hope was kind in his own way, and counted on them being together, so komaeda can imagine that he would allow the ultimate mechanic his own chance to add and remove certain things that came to komaeda's arm. )
Unless the idea of mixing Nasod technology with the work of an Ultimate appeals to you, but keeping them separate may work in our favor, and gives you the chance of having two different designs to tamper with.
( his fingers open, digits lightly scratching against add's sleeve, like he's trying to move it out the way a bit too, isn't he also void dusting? )

Upgrading, improving machines is no different from how organic beings grow over time... however, I acknowledge the skill of the original inventor. Design like this is top-notch. We don't have to remove anything, it's actually easier if we make it more modular...
[keeping the base design, but modifying it so parts can be swapped. Raven always struggled with that claw... but Add thought it was a shame that he chose not to keep it at all. ah well. that's his loss, apparently. now it's Add's claw to do with as he pleases.]
Hmmm... yes, certain parts won't fit but I recall there being some unused space... if we make it a bit wider, the generator should still fit here... [flipping the hand over to look at Komaeda's palm] Might need to reduce its energy usage, however... Raven has much more extensive modifications, aside from the arm, and keeps himself in peak physical condition. So the same level of output might be too much of a strain on a body like yours. Smaller blackhole should still have uses, though...

he feels like he understands add enough, or rather, should he save believe despite their odds at hope — it's because it's him that komaeda is reassured enough to undo the prosthetic from his arm, allowing it to slip free from his body right into add's clutches. perhaps that immediate trust is a weakness, offering the part of him that was made by hope, and having cut off the original due to despair. it's all that he has left that serves as a reminder to both his happiness and his mistakes, and he allows that to be in add's possession, watching him as he does what he pleases. )
I could introduce you to them, one day, not right now... but when the time comes, you could pick apart their brain and perhaps collaborate with their hope.
( a forbidden word, but important all the same when the person who took part in making this arm is actually around in yogen, not here at the party per se, but they exist regardless. yet, he pauses, his words sharp as he observes the other, watching intently while listening to him speak on nasod technology, and how it uses the life forcer to operate that it almost sounds like more than he can chew. the worst part is that he'll bite. )
When it comes to your work, I trust your methods, I'm sure it won't be game breaking... as opposed to other things. That said... wouldn't a child lock limit it's capabilities... I'm not against the idea of seeing how much is takes from me, though... you don't have to fret for my safety at all... if I happen to drop dead, you'd be the first to know, and can remove your hard work before anyone else has the chance to even think about it... aren't you interested in seeing how far it can go without any needless restrictions?
( his hand settles on top of the head of the other's dynamo, patting softly as his arm nub hangs, and those same phantom movements are something he can notice even more with the arm gone. nerves still active, uncomfortable, but he greets add with a smile as their conversation goes further. isn't using someone for science what this is all about? )
