Where: Dorm Common Room
Warnings: A ridiculous amount of Fluff, probably
( it starts out small. a need for comfort food, and a need for something heartfelt but silly and fun, something genuine and kind. ... and, well, she did find a weird. bootleg vhs set of her favorite movie series, hamster space wars. but the dorm is only barely furnished- and it's not like they can just go out and buy a tv or anything. honestly she completely doubts there's even anything beyond the woods. but she remembers a teacher playing the thing and other stuff in the first month of all of this.
it's so long ago...
but there's a television and a vhs player in the school. and nene... nene's tired and sad and is currently out of fucks to give, so at some point in the day, after everyone else has left, nene has returned to the school and, uh. "borrowed" both things. it's fine. they just have to get it back in by sunday evening. don't worry about it. like, it's definitely heavy but she's a tough cookie who tills soil and everything, and also sara and noah both witnessed everything and are accomplices by default, so they had to help carry things too.
(they were completely happy to help on both accounts, she asked very nicely.)
so the "borrowed" television is set up across from one of the larger couches, and the vhs on top of it. she had cookies in the oven, donuts and hot chocolate made and popcorn popped. the common room paintings are covered with sheets of cloth. all that was left was something cozy- but at this point, nene's made so many little cushions and blankets and even cozy pjs that that's super easy. all that was left was letting anyone who wanted to come know too. so at some point in the halls, nene walks down calling out: )
Cartoons in the common room! Bring blankets and stuff!
( and, so everyone knows what their characters are getting into: hamster space wars is a movie series about different factions of hamsters that have been trying for cross planetary peace for ages now, with a villainous faction having sabotaged the final negotiations so they can control the war from the shadows to make the most money and also get the most seeds (Very Decadent). the first movie follows the main hamster and his little group trying to escape the villains after having witnessed the sabotage, and are trying to avoid assassination and end the war for good. the sequels follow allied factions, with hamster galactic wars being the Thrilling Conclusion.
it's heartfelt. it's silly. it's very cute. nene loves it. )

I'm not really good at parties. I mean... there's too many people. But it's Nene, so... I wanted to show up. The last time we had a big party like this, it was pretty good.
[Clamor was there last time... he's not this time, Noah supposes. Probably hanging out with his boyfriends. How even the Fuck did that happen anyway... he doesn't know.]

I wasn't allowed out of the house when I was growing up, so I never got to do this sort of stuff. The neighbours were pretty spaced out too, so it wasn't like I could go sneak off to someone else's house.

Yeah, I was homeschooled... we had a lot of money, but that wasn't really important. It wasn't for partying. I definitely don't think of myself as a prince, with how my parents treated me.

Her own family was pretty rich...but not excessively so. She just knew her Dad had and important job...and apparently enough money to hire her a secret bodyguard. Maybe if her father had been more overprotective...he'd have homeschooled her too. Having a scary overbearing parent...at least she knew her father loved her. Was that not the case for Noah? ]

...my parents only cared about my older brother, Harque, because he was in line to become one of the El Masters... er... that's someone who guards the El, which is the crystal responsible for maintaining life where I come from, so it's an important job. Specifically, he was supposed to be the master of the Moon element.
[Sara might have picked up on this, but even as far removed from his family as Noah is, he still is a liiiittle bit obsessed with the moon — even his tie has a moon clip on it.]
So, their efforts went into training and working with the eldest so that he could perform his role appropriately and also take over House Ebalon in the future. I meant nothing to them, so they neglected me. I was pretty much raised by Harque for a time, and... then Harque was assassinated when I was five, by the cult I wound up being raised by instead in the end. Someone took on his form and erased my memories of it, but I managed to get them all back... last year, I guess. [Before coming here, he means.] So, that's how I came to be raised by a cult.
...I'm pretty sure my parents were complicit in it, but that's just a theory. Harque couldn't do one half of the magic to become an El Master, which was magic I've always been proficient in, so they were always disappointed in him too. The cultist could. But even then, I'm not sure if their memories were messed with either, and to be honest I don't care, because they still paid me no mind at all.
And! [Noah's venting, sorry,] They let me be experimented on by the cult!

She never had an older sibling...but maybe if she imagined someone replacing Keiji, and leading her astray with the trust she put in him. It would be too much, to make all that for nothing. ] Toying with you like that. It's not right. Nobody deserves to be treated like that, by a cult or their parents. I'm sorry that happened to you.

I may not...understand everything you've But...I suppose I can relate. I'm not sure how..or why...but the organization who tormented me and so many other people. They had to start planning the killing game we were in long before I was born. [ They even said it...she was "born to win". It's a surprise she's even talking about it, she's kept quiet about the game for most of her time here.] You...me...we were just trying to live ordinary lives. Why would they crush that, for such pointless reasons? It's not right. I hate them for it, but its not like I even know why.
