i don't want to survive, i want to live
Who: Yes
What: Movie Night + Slumber Party
When: 9/11, Saturday Evening
Where: Dorm Common Room
Warnings: A ridiculous amount of Fluff, probably
( it starts out small. a need for comfort food, and a need for something heartfelt but silly and fun, something genuine and kind. ... and, well, she did find a weird. bootleg vhs set of her favorite movie series, hamster space wars. but the dorm is only barely furnished- and it's not like they can just go out and buy a tv or anything. honestly she completely doubts there's even anything beyond the woods. but she remembers a teacher playing the thing and other stuff in the first month of all of this.
it's so long ago...
but there's a television and a vhs player in the school. and nene... nene's tired and sad and is currently out of fucks to give, so at some point in the day, after everyone else has left, nene has returned to the school and, uh. "borrowed" both things. it's fine. they just have to get it back in by sunday evening. don't worry about it. like, it's definitely heavy but she's a tough cookie who tills soil and everything, and also sara and noah both witnessed everything and are accomplices by default, so they had to help carry things too.
(they were completely happy to help on both accounts, she asked very nicely.)
so the "borrowed" television is set up across from one of the larger couches, and the vhs on top of it. she had cookies in the oven, donuts and hot chocolate made and popcorn popped. the common room paintings are covered with sheets of cloth. all that was left was something cozy- but at this point, nene's made so many little cushions and blankets and even cozy pjs that that's super easy. all that was left was letting anyone who wanted to come know too. so at some point in the halls, nene walks down calling out: )
Cartoons in the common room! Bring blankets and stuff!
( and, so everyone knows what their characters are getting into: hamster space wars is a movie series about different factions of hamsters that have been trying for cross planetary peace for ages now, with a villainous faction having sabotaged the final negotiations so they can control the war from the shadows to make the most money and also get the most seeds (Very Decadent). the first movie follows the main hamster and his little group trying to escape the villains after having witnessed the sabotage, and are trying to avoid assassination and end the war for good. the sequels follow allied factions, with hamster galactic wars being the Thrilling Conclusion.
it's heartfelt. it's silly. it's very cute. nene loves it. )

well the obvious answer would be to say that its the stranger she met at the funeral right
but i dont think thats it
i think the girl did it

but i'd love to hear your theory.

and it would be a really weird coincidence if, while she was looking for him, he killed her sister??
alot of murders are done by someone the murderer knows. i read it in a detective novel once
[obviously a detective novel would never lie to him. please don't call noah out for reading detective novels in murder school. the protagonists always remind him of shuichi.]
i mean i guess theres random premediated murder too so maybe thats a moot point. and i guess he couldve met the sister at the funeral and decided to kill her, but why the sister? why not the girl he seduced? thats an obvious trap, if you seduce someone and get their information and lure them away, so why would he target an unrelated party if he was looking to kill?
also who the fuck hits it off at their moms funeral, somethings up with that
so i think the girl did it. shes clearly got something wrong with her head.

one isn't though... the Ultimate Detective is probably the story i enjoy the most so far.
( yeah, he went there. )
let's go through all your questions, we can start with: it would be odd if he killed her sister while she was looking for him.
imagine bringing up how we met at future dinner parties, that would be... quite the discussion.
that's also true, he couldn't be the murderer if he didn't take the chance at such a perfect set up!
and while those are valid scenarios, i have to say you're halfway there! you're correct, the woman did kill her sister, now can you tell me what her reason was?

i just wanted to learn more about what he does!!
[HUFFS DEFENSIVELY]
my first instinct says that she killed her sister because the sister killed the mom but thats not really a good assumption to make and that wasnt brought up in the story at all
let me reread it.
[scrolls back up... hmm... scrolls back down...]
its really kind of weird that no one knew the guy at the funeral too, no one invited him or anything so they couldnt track him down, makes it seem like he just walked in or something, but thats not the point
ive decided that the guy is creepy though
she didnt... kill her own sister because she wanted to meet this creepy funeral-stalker man again, did she??
i mean okay so if no one knew this guy at all but he showed up at a random funeral to flirt with a girl, thats weird already. based on whats in the story he seems like he just goes to random funerals. so i guess her thought was that if she killed someone he would show up at some funeral again
but why her own sister though thats messed up

considering he's the Ultimate Detective, he can teach you so much! the hope that comes from his talent... he truly is amazing in that aspect.
ahaha, the guy is creepy enough? hm, do you believe in love at first sight? normally that takes precedence in all these scenarios. an unspoken rule as to why anyone does anything.
and yes, she did kill her own sister so that the guy could come back, and she could get his phone number this time. she believed that... if it was someone in her family, he would definitely show up.
the fact that it did happy means she can pursue her relationship...
sighs, to think that he was only interested to coming to her family's funeral... perhaps that was fate.

either way if i was at someones funeral falling in love at first sight would not even be a thing id be experiencing i think
both people in this story are insane
[nods to himself...]
