With much reGRET, the death of one person will not bring anyone BACK, nor will it do anything but make those hurt feel better for a short time as they revel in their moral superoriTY, while another family mourns another's LIFE. We've left such barbaric times behind in the days of YORE, Gawain-san, for better or for WORSE.

As optimistic as it may BE, I believe that most people can be redeemed - and redemption begins with an commitment to do betTER, not by being SLAIN. It's ridiculous to think that everyone who commits a crime will feel bad about it of COURSE, but that's on THEM. The grand majority of people do feel a level of guilt about doing something that hurts or put others at RISK, even if they perceived their act to be necessaRY.

If they're unremorseFUL, then FINE. But considering the perpetrator has a high chance of being someone my AGE, I doubt they're completely okay with what they've DONE, premeditated or NOT.
