MINI-EVENT DISCUSSION TIME [open]
WHO: Everyone!!
WHEN: April 25th, 6PM
WHAT: Who wants to talk about ~murder~?
[There's a strong part of Kokichi that wants to keep everything he's figured out to himself, especially knowing the "winner" of this mystery will gain a ton of bonus points that could throw a serious wrench into his plans. He tends to work alone, after all.
But fortunately, there's a louder, more pragmatic part that knows everyone needs to come together. Whatever the game is here, no rules have been given. It doesn't seem like they're gonna force everyone together to figure things out. And maybe that's the point – no forced teamwork this time around, a prize to discourage people from working together. This whole setup seems designed to have them all working against each other.
Well, fuck that. The status quo is just gonna get more people killed. It's time to herd some cats and get everyone on the same page. If nothing else, it's a way to learn anything others might have figured out, and a chance to see who here has a working brain.]
--–
[Every transfer student will find an unsigned note in their lockers that reads "transfer students meeting @ 6pm 4/25 in classroom 2-C".
When they arrive at the set location and time, they'll find extra desks have been shoved in from other classrooms so there's seating for everyone. On the chalkboard, written in big bubble letters, is "SUPER FUN MURDER DISCUSSION PARTY TIME!!" with some goofy doodles around the edges. This is very serious, guys. One corner of the room has a square taped off on the floor with a single desk situated inside it, a sign taped to it reading "Crazy Containment Zone". A piece of paper on the desk says "reserved for Komaeda".
No one takes credit for organizing everything. But regardless, it's time to have a discussion.]
((HOW THIS WORKS:
- This post is a free for all! Feel free to start your own threads to discuss any clue/topic/theory/random outburst you want. Jump into any thread anywhere, no need to keep things tidy and continuous. This is gonna be a big group crammed into a classroom all talking at once, so just embrace the chaos.
- Please let the people who discovered clues OOCly be the ones to reveal them ICly! You can assume things have already been explained for the sake of discussing other clues and proposing theories and whatnot, just please don't steal anyone's thunder when it comes to explaining the things their characters figured out!
That's it! Let me know if you have any other concerns or guidelines to consider adding, just shoot me a PM or hit me up on plurk or discord! Have fun!))

[Kokichi's sitting on a desk, kicking his feet and playing dumb. He definitely did not get everyone together or do tons of investigating on his own, no sir.
Anyway, let's make sure everyone's on the same page.]

...Senku-san found one, YES. He was nice enough to allow me to give it a reaDING.
( which is to say: he just got to look at it really closely, which is what you do in palmistry, just usually on the full hand. )
It seems to have been in water for quite some TIME, based on its level of wrinkling and the SMELL, so I assume it's for someone who died earlier than our late student body presiDENT. Given that it's also just a finGER, I would assume the rest of the corpse is still wherever it is water is stored in builDINGS. I'm a fortunetelLER, not a plumBER.
( but how far can it actually be considering the timer on the bomb... thinky thoughts. )

( something about her being 'too baby'? rude. she deals with ghosts. the important thing is that the body has all fingers. )
art room clue discussion! i guess
[ Naturally, Saihara's brought everything he's been using as evidence with him, and even has notes on the things that couldn't be brought. So it isn't too difficult for him to produce the piece of fabric from his pocket, which matches with the tear anyone who's looked at the body later than the 16th might recognize on her skirt. ]
When Komaeda-kun and I looked that night, we found this. It turned out to have been Phthalocyanine Blue from the art room. Okane-san was a member of the club, and according to the other members... she was working on a painting that made heavy use of blues...
[ But what does it mean if the paint was on her clothes...? He'll let people speculate and ask further questions first.
Additionally: ]
There was also an empty cabinet in the room. Okane-san had been working on cleaning it of aging supplies, but the other club members didn't seem to know she had finished. The cabinet has a red stain in the back, but... I couldn't find evidence that it's blood. It only smelled like acrylic paint.

[Just in case anyone isn't already aware of Shuichi's title. Mr. Introvert over here might not be bragging about it, but Kokichi is happy to shove him into the spotlight.
Anyway. Sounds like a good opportunity to narrow down some "where" and "when".]
Soooo she had a paint stain on her? Does that mean she was at art club just before being killed? Or maybe she was just a slob?

There isn't any red paint in the art ROOM. ( ...yeah, that's what's wrong here. there's distinctly no red. ) I suppose if it's in the BACK, then it could be from a time when they did keep red paint on-HAND...
( ........... )
Or it could be a way to mark a secret passAGE. I did something similar with pentagrams at my old school to indicate where the hidden tunnels WERE. ( because every school just has those )

Crawlspace & Bathroom Investigation!
When it's his turn to speak up, he tries to just stick to the facts- talking like he's giving a rather emotionally detached report. Like he's uh, used to this kind of talk.]
Clamor-san, Kokichi-san and I found a crawlspace in the ceiling above the library. It seems to be part of network of paths that go all over the school, though only Kokichi-san and I could fit into it. We went into it on the 13th after the fire but didn't notice anything strange, and again on the 16th after the body was found.
On the 16th, we found the route heading south had been cleaned. It led to the third floor bathroom next to the art room. There, we found a pair of blue nitrile gloves with blood on them flushed down the toliet. There was also a strong smell of disinfectant coming from one of the sinks, but whoever cleaned missed a smear of blood behind the trashcans. If I had to guess, I'd say the smear was several days old.

Potential Red Herrings and also Um Wounds--
Ritsuka-chan also assisted Stephanie, Noah-kun and me in checking the wounds on the body- specifically, to see if something like Stephanie's resin knife could have caused them.
She said that it wasn't a definite match, but it was feasible- the bruises look as if they could have been made with enough force and the handle or flat of the blade, and the wound on the back of her head is the same size as the end of the handle. There aren't any cuts or anything though, except for the tally marks on her wrist.

How many tally marks did she HAVE? Were they on her left or her RIGHT?

Noah's playing detective look he totally has the killer's MO figured out guys
Both victims are likely in the same class year, as well as being pale-skinned with black hair and dark brown eyes. It's likely possible that the killer is targeting this specific demographic... that's common with killers. [noah why do you know that very unfun fact]
This gives us reasonable cause to find similar-looking students and watch over them, or ample opportunity to watch them from a safe and unsuspecting distance to see if the killer makes a move, where we can apprehend them.

Librarian interview, summary of events of the 4/13 library fire
I spoke to the librarian on Monday, after the assembly took place. According to her, the third year members of the student council were already present and studying in the library before the fire occurred. That would include our victim, Miss Aiko Okane. When the alarms went off, Aiko left the room to locate the other student council members to help with the evacuation. She returned quickly and continued to assist with the evacuation along with the rest of the student council.
Once they believed everyone had fully evacuated, [he frowns—we'll get back to that] she then re-entered the library, alone, to find the source of the fire. In the chaos of trying to keep the other students from entering the library again, no one checked up on her afterwards. Unless anyone heard a different account, I believe this to be the last time Aiko was seen alive.
I can't say anything with certainty, but I think it's likely that the "fire" was an intentional distraction, possibly with the intent to lure in Miss Aiko specifically. She seems like the type to take charge of any situation she's thrown into, so the culprit may have predicted that she'd return to the library alone after everyone else had left. The fire also seemed to originate from the crawlspace entrance, and nothing was damaged in the library itself—if the intent was simply to set off the alarms, a controlled fire would be the safest method to use, both to ensure the victim would return to the scene and that the person setting off the alarms wouldn't themselves be harmed.
Furthermore... the librarian mentioned that Maya—I believe it's Maya Arisu?—asked if her brother was alright during all of this, as he apparently spends a lot of time napping in the library. She wasn't able to recall if he had been present during the evacuation. If he was still in the library when Aiko returned... he may have been the last person to see her. Strange, that he hasn't said anything about this himself.
[so either he knows something, or....... yeah.]
no subject
It is not so strange. As you can tell even here, [with the purple and pink kids goin at it,] humans are quite accusatory, and should one be differed in some way -- by, say, being in the room where a ruckus took place, or perhaps being the last person to see the current deceased -- they would certainly be the center of unwanted attention, whether they are the culprit or not.

gawain offers nothing but encouraging words at this time.
In fact the fulfilling banter and wonderful conversations being held at this time - [ He's looking at you Ouma, Natsume, Inaba, and Komaeda etc & the arguments yall are having. ] amongst each other is a staple of the life the Knights had once lived. It is life like to the times we shared, in exchanging affairs.
The quarrels of discussion is alight among us! Continue these arguments behest the fate that we may figure out the murderer's name at last - I am most surprised no one has broken out into a physical fight yet!
Regardless this is an amiable affair, and it is good to see that we all get along & are close like friends - family even.

ok let's also talk about The Merit Points and The Auction
Right. Before we go any deeper into who the culprit is, I think we should address the what in the room. [as in: what they do once they know who dunnit]
Merit points will help us get through the next break. They'll also be useful in acquiring the "doll" at the auction, if we want to examine that further... However, we may not necessarily need those resources if we play our cards right. Don't forget that our goal here isn't just to survive or solve murders—if we want to get out of here, we have to consider what the people in charge here don't want us to do.
Let's say our culprit had a reason for doing what they did. This is hardly an ordinary situation. It may be more valuable for us in the long run to keep them as an ally, depending on what those reasons were.
So. What are we going to do with the information we have? If this is a group effort, then everyone needs to agree to the plan and promise to stick to it.
no subject
So for the moment Kokichi just...says nothing. He's happy to fade into the background for a bit here, let all the "good" people take center stage and convince everyone. It'll probably be more effective without him supporting it.]

whenever the meeting starts winding down...
Clamor stands up, clapping his hands loudly a couple times to get everyone's attention.]
Everyone, settle down for a minute... I think that's enough for today. We're still missing too much information, so let's quickly go over what we need to do next.
[he flips his notebook to a fresh page, hope y'all have been taking notes]
Firstly, someone needs to speak with Hiro Arisu. He may have been at the library during the fire. That does make him a possible suspect... but it's too early to be throwing accusations around, so let's hear what he has to say about it first, alright?
If he's unwilling to talk, we can try asking his sister, Maya Arisu. She has an alibi at the time of the fire, but she also benefited from Aiko's death, so we should keep that in mind when we speak with her. I believe Natsume and Shuichi had a plan for that.
Stephanie, I think you should be the one to decide who talks to your friend about the knife. [the "friend" who is...... also Hiro, but no one's exposed that yet in this timeline, so.] I'd prefer it if you brought someone else with you, however... I know you want to trust your friend, but the last thing we need is for someone else to get hurt.
Shuichi brought up something about talking to the art club members about Aiko's activities in the club right before her death. It's possible this may still be important to the timeline, so I think it's worth looking into. Do we have any volunteers for that?
Regarding the merit points bounty, I believe we're all in agreement that we should gather all the information first before taking any action. Remember that our goal is to escape, not just to survive. We'll worry about the bounty in the next meeting. [it can be a problem for future-them]
If anyone else has something they want to add, speak up now—it's best if we all know what we're planning to do next. We have the advantage of numbers, so try to work in pairs or groups instead of everyone going off on their own. We'll get a lot more done if we're not all repeating the same tasks.
Let's meet here again on Wednesday after 6PM, once everyone else has left the school. That way, we can take any necessary actions before the weekend and the end of the month, and we'll still have a couple extra days in case there's anything else we need to look into.
[any closing words? last-minute plans? inspirational speeches?? have at thee, and feel free to also make some OOC plans in here if you need to coordinate with other players!]
no subject
I tried to speak with Maya Arisu earlier, and she wasn't all that helpful. Someone else might be better at getting her to talk. ...I didn't know what to ask.
I can go with Stephanie if she wants me to, though. I'll make sure she doesn't get hurt.
