MINI-EVENT DISCUSSION TIME [open]
WHO: Everyone!!
WHEN: April 25th, 6PM
WHAT: Who wants to talk about ~murder~?
[There's a strong part of Kokichi that wants to keep everything he's figured out to himself, especially knowing the "winner" of this mystery will gain a ton of bonus points that could throw a serious wrench into his plans. He tends to work alone, after all.
But fortunately, there's a louder, more pragmatic part that knows everyone needs to come together. Whatever the game is here, no rules have been given. It doesn't seem like they're gonna force everyone together to figure things out. And maybe that's the point – no forced teamwork this time around, a prize to discourage people from working together. This whole setup seems designed to have them all working against each other.
Well, fuck that. The status quo is just gonna get more people killed. It's time to herd some cats and get everyone on the same page. If nothing else, it's a way to learn anything others might have figured out, and a chance to see who here has a working brain.]
--–
[Every transfer student will find an unsigned note in their lockers that reads "transfer students meeting @ 6pm 4/25 in classroom 2-C".
When they arrive at the set location and time, they'll find extra desks have been shoved in from other classrooms so there's seating for everyone. On the chalkboard, written in big bubble letters, is "SUPER FUN MURDER DISCUSSION PARTY TIME!!" with some goofy doodles around the edges. This is very serious, guys. One corner of the room has a square taped off on the floor with a single desk situated inside it, a sign taped to it reading "Crazy Containment Zone". A piece of paper on the desk says "reserved for Komaeda".
No one takes credit for organizing everything. But regardless, it's time to have a discussion.]
((HOW THIS WORKS:
- This post is a free for all! Feel free to start your own threads to discuss any clue/topic/theory/random outburst you want. Jump into any thread anywhere, no need to keep things tidy and continuous. This is gonna be a big group crammed into a classroom all talking at once, so just embrace the chaos.
- Please let the people who discovered clues OOCly be the ones to reveal them ICly! You can assume things have already been explained for the sake of discussing other clues and proposing theories and whatnot, just please don't steal anyone's thunder when it comes to explaining the things their characters figured out!
That's it! Let me know if you have any other concerns or guidelines to consider adding, just shoot me a PM or hit me up on plurk or discord! Have fun!))

Honestly, what's really important to me is the 'why', over the 'who', here. I'm not close to anyone, so knowing the person that did it won't really necessarily have an effect on me. Not to mention that I'm curious about it, too, especially as "more information is power", as they say...
And more importantly, there's still so much that we don't know about the situation. And more importantly...
[She folds her arms together, her fingers digging into the sleeve of her uniform as she continues to speak, her tone still calm and even in spite of everything.]
Can we really trust that nobody here is going to actually going to relay any of this information behind our backs? Like... let's say hypothetically, we make the decision to not tell anyone outside of this group who the culprit is for whatever reason. [Because sorry, she doesn't trust any of you.] How can we be so certain that someone isn't going to take advantage of that and try and be selfish anyway for their own personal gain? Especially since we don't know what will happen to the perpetrator if we do say anything.

The prisoner's dilemma, huh? It's true, though! Everyone wants to pretend we're all best buddies, but do you really all trust each other to stay quiet when there's a reward for the person who doesn't?
[Says the person who probably seems most likely to do that...]

[At least she's being honest??] And a majority of us barely know each other.

Hey, Inaba-chan, is there anyone here that you do trust?

You're not wrong... but I don't think that means we should just assume someone will act alone, or that we should give up on this option. We don't have the full picture of what happened yet, and it would be incredibly short-sighted for someone to give up a possible lead to those in charge here just for some merit points. [just do your fucking homework instead ffs]
Most of the information is already out there, unfortunately, so we can't do much to stop it if someone decides to go rouge. What we can do... hmm, if we all show what our merit points are at before we leave here today, then we can check the numbers again if something happens to our culprit. 300 points won't be easy to use up quickly, so it should be obvious who claimed it.

Meng Yao hadn't even heard the correct version of that, so he's taking it - for a precious few seconds until someone corrected the other - as the proper one for a moment. Even if it does sound kind of funny. ]
I don't believe I've ever heard of a saying like that back home, but I can understand the sentiment behind it.

That said, it's been well into the meeting at this point so at least it's not entirely unexpected now. ]
...I'm afraid it's hard to consider fellow captives as 'trash', to start with, but your suggestion has surely been noted.

It's no good if you can't see that I'm an insignificant and worthless human, especially even now. ( sighs, he's literal trash! garbage! )
Haha, to reassure you, I won't share my identity with just anyone.

They're just using it because they're desperate to get what they want and have an advantage over others or because they believe it's better for their survival.

[ A pause. ]
Actually, you have a point. It's not impossible to win over any of them. Plus it's not as if we can really keep track of who's made friends with who.
