.:An Adventure to Remember:.
Who: Meng Yao, Subaru Akehoshi, Rantarou Amami
What: Some basic lessons are happening in the background, but some (mis?)adventures as well. Surely nothing will go wrong in a wonderful place such as this? Other than MY growing premature grey hairs. Either way, it's Exchange Program time, bby.
Where: Lanling Proper, and Koi Tower.
When: October 11th - October 17th.
Warnings: Potential death which will happen regardless and/or violence. Disturbing themes may be mentioned because JGS exists and golden end Lanling is still questionable. Just happier.
WELCOME TO LANLING—

The city is home to what is currently the largest cultivation sect around. It is prosperous and filled with many smiling faces. There are children who run through the streets, shop owners showing their wears, and people frequenting the establishments—inns, restaurants, you name it.
At the heart of the city is an important compound, Koi Tower. It seems to unfold before anyone who comes near it majestically, starting with the stairs and ending with the peerless infrastructure. It's terrific state is more than can be described in mere words, needless to say.
There are various gardens here or there, filled with a majority of the sect's symbol and flower—Sparks-Admist-Snow white peonies.
There is also one lotus pond located on the premises, but that is located somewhere towards the inner families' lodgings, and anyone passing through had better be someone who is part of the Jin Sect or a servant lest they wish to get into trouble.
As expected there is a magnificent reception area, a banquet hall, and another more extraordinary garden that houses a painting well done by a cultivator of renown. Said cultivator can be found around the city at certain points.
On the flipside, there are cultivators who are rather stuck up, though that goes the same for a good amount of the residents. Though the Sect Leader, Jin Guangshan is rather insufferable even if he is unfortunately talented at conducting himself with grace. Then there is Jin Zixun, who is neither graceful nor talented, but far more easy to encounter.
There is also, of course, the Treasure Vault. Another place that is actually guarded periodically though there are some dips in security due to the overconfidence the people have here.
Though even in this idyllic setting, there are places of ill repute if someone were to go looking around. Such as where others would sell weapons or other...things that are illegal or frowned down upon supposedly in Lanling. Hidden deep within the forest nearby that is essentially also part of Lanling, there is even a strange training ground that has been sectioned off by members of the Jin Sect. Going further where that is concerned is something that should be avoided lest anyone would want to experience a rather trying time, putting it very lightly. At the very least they'll shoo any wanderers away as long as they don't cause trouble or try to truly sneak in.
This is a city of golden times. But it doesn't mean that is the case for those outside of it or not caught within its golden age.
But whatever the case, their ends will be the same. Though, before that, shouldn't they enjoy their time while they still can?

meng yao 3
I wanna learn toooooo, Maimai! Hey hey, teach me something! I'm getting bored just watching you two!
[-- besides meng yao offered and now he's taking that offer seriously since it sounded boring before and now he's lonely]
no subject
...Surprisingly, the way that Subaru acts right now reminds him of Nie Huaisang more than a little, actually. That whiney little brother of Sect Leader Nie who used to cling to him or hide behind him or act so childish...
Even if at first Meng Yao is first taken aback at this (usually no one else would even want to touch someone like him), it's probably the follow-up whining that makes a surprisingly fond smile come. Like given to a younger sibling or something. ]
Yes, well. I certainly can't begin if you're just slouching on me like this, can I?
no subject
Whoo! What's first? Ghost banishing? Demon banishing? Punching them with spiritual might? Spirit guns?
no subject
Anything other than that starts to get relatively complicated, especially since I'm just starting off with talisman work.
[ So, you know! Though, with them being here in the first place it's not impossible to even start lessons on how to form a golden core...but anyway! One thing at a time and it's not something he actually considered until now, so. ]
The important thing to make sure to start with is that there are no mistakes in your writing, which is essentially a no-brainer, I think.
[ He starts giving Subaru some blank pieces of paper and a traditional ink brush. ]
no subject
subaru'll take the paper and brush though, lucky they teach it in schools and as an idol he has to do this every now and then for merch, so though it's not as pretty as natsume's might be... as long as he takes his time he'll probably be okay.
his impatience will probably get the better of him.]
I didn't think having good handwriting was key in spirit stuff, but I guess that makes sense... What's first, Master Maimai?
no subject
Well, actually Meng Yao has no idea what a gun even is. But it's slipped his mind to ask...anyway, he does smile a little when he's called 'Master', like he's a respected teacher of some sort. Society would laugh to know someone would refer to someone like him with a respectful title. ]
This is the easiest part, I believe. First, you have to write down the characters, but I think using your own language should be fine.
Though while you're in the city, it's for the best you do it the way I do for now so that nobody doesn't think it odd.
[ And then, he'll lightly explain the meaning for them in this text bracket because god save me. ]
Of course, then, a cultivator would infuse a talisman with spiritual energy for an extra boost, but since you don't have that, simply writing it the correct way will do for now. You can say intention can carry an energy of its own.
no subject
Intentions carry an energy of its own, huh... That's true with anything, as long as you've got good intentions then things'll work out~.
[as long as those good intentions don't go into "the ends justify the means" and you kill people in the name of hope,
anyway he's a hypocrite for thinking intentions are fine without consideration to what it entails. subaru'll practice writing.]
Are cultivators like, born with that energy stuff?
no subject
[ Nie Mingjue would probably say something that sums up as (citation needed) but you know what, this isn't about him. ]
Well, as a general rule, people are born with some form of spiritual energy. Technically, depending on how much time we spend here it isn't exactly out of the question to start lessons on how to properly utilize spiritual energy. But, developing a golden core does happen to take years, and so that is the reason why that cultivators aren't born with one. They have to train in order to create it in the first place.
And once they do, that is how they—or those like myself—are able to properly draw on or use spiritual energy.
[ Though with resentful energy you can kind of get around that, but it's not so good with in regards to health, so he's not going to touch on cultivating that. Though he figures he should mention it in other contexts seeing as that is something that seems to be present in more than occasional amounts at that school... ]
no subject
[but it'd take a while, probably... subaru doesn't have a while like that... so he'll stick with talismans and maybe try and do whatever amami learns too because he wants to matchies with his newest bff]
I guess it's kind of like the magic Natsume does, then~. He says you have to draw it out too, but I've only been able to do it, like, once.
[... every time he tried after he couldn't get the same spark and it sucks]
