you need a glue stick, aluminum foil and a lighter, they may have all of that since these can be used for an art project.

the hot glue is definitely a "wake up" call and he's brought back to the present when he presses his shaking left thumb hard against it, heart beating fast in his throat and lungs aching for the oxygen he'd forgotten to replenish. it hurts, but it's fine; when he lifts it he peers at the mark, tilting his head and idly sucking on his thumb again (? hm) as he replies]
