(open) break yourself inside out
who: Whoever wants to show up.
what: Nine body pileup, who wants to compile info.
when: 10/7, at least
where: Dorms study hall
warnings: Attempted murder over children's games
[in the afternoon, a message shows up on the forums. is she copying Natsume? utterly, since his organization is why she's thinking about this.]

Please try to set aside an hour or so of your time this evening at around 7:30 pm to return to the study hall. I'd like to speak with as many people as possible regarding the recent incident in the school.
-H.A.
[and she won't be replying to anything posted below it.
by the time the hour rolls around, Helena's set herself up in the study hall with the rolling whiteboard she took from the school set up. the markers are a toss up between colors, but the important part is there. she's seated herself by it, and when 7:30 hits, an alarm on her PDA goes off. silencing it, she stands up.]
Thank you for coming. I realize it's another demand on people's time, but given the vast scope of the murders, there's more to be said than unsaid. With it, we had no choice but to split up and find what we could, to do our best at the least to remember and categorize what we saw. Generally speaking, I'd like if we could pool our resources to see if we might draw any parallels between what was where, and if there are any peculiarities to distinguish this or that event.
With that said - [she points behind her at the whiteboard, where Rantarou has been kind enough to write out a list] - if we could try to speak individually, we could write down anything critical shared, so we could look at it from a larger perspective. As well, if something comes up in other days, we could reconvene and add in new information.
As I am unable to do it for you, please allow my dependable transcriber to do so. And a final note before we begin - if anyone becomes overly agitated, I request that you kindly step outside until you can keep your voice to a moderate level. Sound echoes well enough without yelling added to the mix.
Let's begin.

[She pointedly notices that he's ignored the rest of what she's said.]
After all, if you're going to ignore the rest of what I said, I might as well "solve the puzzle". [She speaks those words in air quotes with a sarcastic, dry tone, as if she were answering for Wheel of Fortune.] It's detective's desk, isn't it?

( now back to what's important, he did, ignore everything on purpose because he's here to play the game correctly, give hints to what he knows, and carry on. to praise her, he claps his hands once, then twice, and third time's the charm before he drops them down to his side. )
Congratulations. ( she did better than let's say... others, she could have kept a clean noose with no head attached, if she wanted. there's no need to complain about that though, it's solved, and he'll continue on. )
It applies, Ultimates are still a light for you to honor, but since you're part of the common few... it'll be hard for you to accept their radiance so easily! It's fine, I'll overlook it, you've never witnessed anything like it before — though Ultimates and those who lack talent are here, in the end, hope is what you all should be working towards! As long as you have that, everything will work fine, and besides... I remember you well, Inaba-san. You were a stepping stone, and part of the reason the few you remember are still here... they used the hope you gave them with your death to move forward... so fortunately, I have to tell you that you're part of this as well.
( there's no hint of proudness in his voice, rather he's just stating simple facts as he writes in the rest of the letters, and then he turns around to look towards her. she's correct, detective's desk written in capitalized letters, and all thanks to her hard work. he stands to the side so she can see the board better, his thoughts thinking about the note that was left there, along with the blood around it. )
...He was a type of person that could talk to anyone. ( very personalized, able to give what's given to him depending on who he spoke to — he was different when trying to understand each and everyone without discrimination. he gave chances, and for that he was kind, but it wasn't that kindness that got him killed, but the greedy people surrounding him, suffocating his light, and out it went. ) ...and yet, he was hated, can you believe there are those who can look at an Ultimate with disgust? For that card to be left there, someone had to know that was his place of location at the time, even if Kawaii-san was with him...
( he pauses, tapping his chin. )
I wonder who stays close by at that time... hm, you'll figure it out soon enough!

[She's not going to bother and give any sort of satisfaction; it's true that once certain letters were filled in, the puzzle was relatively easy to solve - there were also certain letters that were easy to guess given the setup of this particular one as well.]
A person can be radiant regardless of their skills.
[And just thinking about that, she grips onto the pendant around her neck tight, a purposeful motion — before she drops her hand back down to her side.]
But I don't care about working towards 'hope' or anything like that. After all, the truth behind these murders may not even be hopeful at all. But then again, that wouldn't really surprise me, really.
[He does mention her death and frowns a little bit; she doesn't know much about that in particular, but now is not the place to ask about it, and he's definitely not the person she wants to ask for a straightforward answer regarding the matter, either.
But she hums - mostly to herself as she listens.]
Of course I can believe it. Bullying isn't uncommon in places like this. Even more so if that person has a skill that others of jealous of. Not that I'm saying that is necessarily the motive, but... the way you say it makes it sound like Saihara might have been the only target and that Kawai was collateral damage.
[If that's the case however, that means... aha.]
Of course, even if that's true, the kind of person who would be able to solve the mystery would be someone who knows more about the heart of the matter.
[She's basically admitting, as loathe as she is to it, that this isn't something that she'd be able to solve herself.]
