subaru leans more on hinata as he talks, then plops into the seat next to him proper. ropes... he can do knots too, he's part of. a kind of survival club back in yumenosaki. they play war games, i think.]
Life's not all about survival. Life's more about things like stars and the way the clouds look when the sun rises or sets, and also how you feel when you jam to a good song or eat a tasty meal~. So you oughta be able to experience that part of life too, Hina-chan.
[but that kind of thing's obvious, so he takes one of the ropes and starts... doing something with it.]
Look at the stars just 'cause they're stars. They'll look back at you the same way.

...Yeah. [He's nodded as he listened, and Hinata sounds thoughtful even now.] I think... even back home, I didn't spend a lot of time thinking about those kinds of things. Too busy rushing around and trying to do everything I could to be better, probably. [He snorts slightly, but then reaches out and starts mimicking whatever it is that Subaru's doing with the rope.] But being trapped here... It makes you realize all the little things around you that you take for granted.
[Even before, back on Jabberwock the night the Killing Game was announced - Hinata thinks he'd started to realize it back then, even if he hadn't started doing things to appreciate everything more.]
If they looked at me just because I'm Hinata Hajime... that feels like it'd be pretty nice, honestly. I'd give them all the time in the world for that.

the words make subaru glance at him, curious, and then grins a little warmer. at the rope? maybe. maybe.]
Yeah, I get it~. I'm the same way. ♪ That's why I'm sorta glad I'm a total no-name here [outside of his fanclub] 'cause I'm a big one back home~. For this and that. But it's not like they see me, y'know? So the stars're nice, 'cause they don't care who you are -- just that you're taking time to spend some with 'em.

Hinata is curious himself about what exactly that means... but it doesn't sound like something Subaru is necessarily thrilled about it, at least not this aspect of it, so he doesn't ask about it.]
A big shot, huh... [His hands are a little clumsy with the motions because he's watching, learning, but he still follows Subaru's example as he continues talking.] Well, you'll always just be you with us. You're just Akehoshi to me; the other stuff doesn't matter unless you want it to.
[Just Subaru Akehoshi and Hinata Hajime. It sounds pretty great, really.]
It'll be nice, spending some time on the roof. Can make some good memories here for a change instead of all the miserable ones that keep piling up.

... oh, he definitely likes hinata. the words spark fireworks in his chest, happy sparklers that shine and warm him, and he kicks his feet beneath the table; he slows his hands a bit so hinata can watch a little better, get used to the way the rope loops and tucks into itself. trickstar's that way themselves, paying little mind to the strings attached to subaru as they go about their lives until those ties twist into a knot they carefully unwind... it's nice being told that though, assured of it.]
You wanna hang out tonight? I wanna make some good memories with you too, Hina-chan. ☆

It takes Hinata a second to catch on, but then his eyes are going wide as he realizes that Subaru must be slowing down on purpose for him. It melts into a smile, warmth threading its way through him as he makes those careful tucks with the rope.]
We can, if you'd like. I really want to head up there, now that you've got me thinking about it... [He shrugs a little, nonchalant, but Hinata's eyes are bright with excitement.] But something like that is better to share with another person, so if you wanted to come too... I'd be really glad.
[A chance to bond, to get to know each other better - and a chance to share something bright in this place that's been so bleak.]

[so yes, hinata's got a partner to go up with for sure. he's excited. even if he's asking the next question, which should be in a concerned tone but absolutely isn't!]

It takes a moment of thought, but then Hinata's nodding slightly as an idea strikes him.]
...How about this? Since there's still a little time before the sun sets, we'll give it an hour or so. I'll send out a message on the PDA as a notice that I'll be ending early today, if anybody wants to come by for lessons before I do. That way everybody will still have a chance to come by today, and we'll still be able to go see the stars soon.
