[Hinata doesn't quite remember what he was about to say - something reassuring, perhaps, about how she shouldn't feel the need to join a club if she doesn't want to.

But it's quickly wiped from his mind, alarm streaking across his face.]

You're... don't tell me you're staying out here in the school instead of the dorms?

[He can feel himself go paler by the second. Doesn't she know how dangerous that is...?]

If... you need a place to stay, I'm sure there has to be space in one of the rooms still.

[She answers rather curtly and without a single shred of hesitation. If she notices him going pale in the face, Inaba ignores it with a smile; one that doesn't reach her eyes in the slightest bit. Her tone keeps its polite, distant edge, icy in spite of how chipper she sounds.]

Someone offered to let me stay with them before, but I said no. It's much better if I'm alone.

[After all-

...if she started alone, she can go back to being alone...right?]

[Hinata shakes his head, hard. No... No.

He doesn't want to accept either of those things.]

Being alone... That's its own problem, but even putting that aside- you know that void is getting bigger in the school, right? What are you going to do if it swallows one of the rooms you're staying in? It's dangerous out here!

[It's something he thinks about a lot. The void that's getting ever closer to their daily lives, and with no foreseeable way to stop it.

And she's just... out here, facing that by herself?

It doesn't sit right with him. Not at all.]
