After all, there is the culture festival to consider. Though it does help so far people seem to have stayed their hand in...certain matters. There is, however, one day that sticks out like a sore thumb before he seeks out Ishimaru. But luckily in the grand scheme of things, it's not something that effects much.
When he finds the other, it's at the end of the day when classes have ended; lunch time was always an option but he believes this gives them more time. He bows a little before righting himself with a smile towards the other as he greets him in the halls nearby the class. ]
Ishimaru-xiong, I was looking for you. Do you happen to have some time right now for us to catch up?
[ He'll wait patiently for his answer. ]

Once Meng Yao comes to see him, Ishimaru greets him with his own bow and a light smile.]
Greetings, Meng Yao-kun! It is good to see you. Your timing is quite fortunate! I do happen to be free at the moment, after all. Where would you like to converse?
no subject
[ He's glad to see he timed his arrival well and then he considers his options. The music room sounds like an alright location, though there is also the common room. But though he doesn't anticipate there being discussion about anything too private, he can do without any eavesdropping. ]
How about the art room?
[ He hasn't ever heard of it being locked after school or anything, and there doesn't appear to be an art club (that he knows of, anyway.) So it should provide them the chance for some privacy. ]
no subject
That sounds like a splendid choice! We can converse surrounded by the student body's finest works of art. [Hopefully better than what's at the dorms.] Let us proceed at once!
[He'll waste no time diligently making his way to the room in question!]

After a moment, he'll continue speaking. ]
First, I think I'd like to start out asking how this month has been treating you?
no subject
A fine choice, Meng Yao-kun! That is an ideal topic to start with. My own month has been uneventful for the most part. In a good way! [It's always a good kind of uneventful when there's no bodies dropping.] The cultural festival seemed to go quite well, and it was enjoyable. I have been doing well with my classes as well! Things have been... not so bad.
Now, how has this month been for you?
no subject
To be quite honest, I've been enjoying the downtime. [ He means murderless time, let's be real here. ] Though I haven't forgotten where we are, the fact that we've able to celebrate without worrying much about the consequences of someone's actions thus far has been a relief.
I think I've managed to become more familiar with how festivals work in such a different place as well. It doesn't seem all that different from a village festival, though of course I've never seen video games as an option back home due to technological differences. That said, even if I am not going to be ungrateful for the lack of troubling elements for a time, I wonder if the cultural festival has dissuaded others from causing much trouble?
[ Which Meng Yao thinks makes sense, but he hopes that it keeps people's spirits up enough that the cheer persists longer past that. ]

Ishimaru listens to Meng Yao and taps at his chin thoughtfully.]
I am glad that things have been uneventful for you as well. I have never related so strongly to the phrase 'no news is good news'. I do wonder that about the cultural festival! It certainly is a possibility. Events like that help to raise morale and unite people. I hope that it has inspired our fellow students and encouraged them to change for the better! I certainly prefer that possibility over any depressing alternatives.

[ Meng Yao has seen other collaborative get together and efforts, though he can't say that they've been this effective in stopping someone from hurting one another. It may be because a cultural festival not only encourages unity and moral, he considers—which are of course big things—but they give less time for people to do something...unfortunate. ]
Speaking of cultural festivities, do you mind if I ask which part you preferred the most?
no subject
Of course! My favorite event... If I am allowed to exhibit a bias by naming one that I was involved in, it would be the Wonderland Cafe. It was well-run, a friendly environment and a celebration of a classic work of English literature! It was fun for me to act out the role of the White Rabbit!

[ He says lightly; everyone has their own preferences, after all. Though of course personal projects are understandable to have biases on. ]
Well, I'm not familiar with the literature the cafe was based on, but I don't doubt that every member put their all into it. And of course that it was enjoyable for all parties.
I'm afraid I hadn't frequented the cafe, but perhaps you can tell me what it was like? Or some of the characters involved.

I myself acted as a prominent character from the book, the White Rabbit! He has a diligent, punctual nature that is very admirable, as he is always striving to reach an appointment that he is late for. And Yashiro-kun was the Dormouse, a sleepy character who attended a tea party. The cast of characters includes quite a few eccentric animals!

I don't know too much about her to know whether the character she chose is one familiar to her, but I'm sure she played out the character well. [ He then smiles faintly before settling into a neutral, yet friendly expression. ] As for yourself, the White Rabbit sounds like he suits you well.
