JANUARY EVENT LOG
00:00 01/01
✽ At the stoke of midnight, something shatters on the ground floor in front of the bulletin board, and the entire school goes dark: all electricity gets shut off, all flames are snuffed out, and the sky is heavily overcast to hide the moon and the stars. The only source of light are the suncatchers purchased from the student store, but even those fully charged will start to dim and go out over the next three days.
✽ Nene, Hinata, Noah, Amami, and Komaeda will smell something burning, and if they pull out their PDAs, it is hot to the touch and the casing is cracked, like something had blown from the inside, and their PDAs will not be working. For everybody else, the screen flickers when they press their thumb to their PDAs, and then goes dark again. ...
✽ If anybody was inside the main school building at midnight, I am so sorry, and for everybody else who enters the building afterwards, please watch your step. The appearance and atmosphere of the school has changed to that of the "void school" and can not be reverted upon breaking a mirror. Please refer to the aforementioned link for details about the school.
✽ As of midnight, no npcs can be found inside the school, including the library ghost, the gardener, and the cats. If a character were near an npc at midnight, it would appear as if they'd disappeared into the shadows the moment the world went dark.

??? whenever you guys solve the void
✽ 01/10 marks the beginning of the final semester, and when npc students and faculty will return to school. Of the ~260 npc students enrolled at the start of December, only ~40 npc students return to school, with the other three quarters having their names crossed off the class roster in the locker area. In light of the rapidly shrinking student body, homerooms will be consolidated by year, creating a single class for each of the first, second, and third years.
✽ The countdown in front of the bulletin board has reached zero, and the glass tube appears to have shattered and bled out onto the floor, to nobody's surprise. The mess will be cleaned up by the end of the week, and in its place is a notice for the school trip taking place next month. Please see the toplevel below for more details.
✽ The science lab is now open. Add will probably elbow people out of the way getting here, but he gets dibs on the anatomical model: it is warm to the touch, and rather than being made of plastic, the skin, muscle, bones, other organs feel very much real. He thinks they might be. The rest of the room is set up like a typical research lab, with all the basic chemicals and equipment: a refrigerator, liquid nitrogen storage tank, sonicator, incubator, autoclave, laminar flow cabinet, mass spectrometer, and a high performance liquid chromatography system.
✽ It snows on and off and the sky remains overcast with no sign of the sun all month.

✽ Please give the temporary locations page a thorough read! The most noticeable changes aside from the usual void school appearance is the scattered void, lack of electricity in both the school and the dorm, and the ability to walk off campus. The setting will remain as is until the characters figure out how to revert the change, or on 01/10, whichever comes first.
✽ PDAs will be inoperable until fixed. Tech-savvy characters may realize that the PDAs are powered through inductive charging, and the first step to getting them (also electrical appliances and hot water) to work again is to locate the generator.
✽ All npcs will be ICly unavailable until we unvoid the school.

That would explain what happened, but it still felt... Different then the last time he had been here.]
Let me see.
[He hands the notebook back to Noah and takes his PDA. He was warned it was going to be hot, yet he didn't expect it to be as hot as it was. He turned it over in his hands, using only his fingertips to touch the PDA.
So not only had they been sent to the Void, but technology had also been affected by it.
It would explain the sudden lack of light, the sudden unfunctioning PDA...
Was his also not working? He hadn't smelled anything strange with it...
He reached info his pocket and pulled it out, turning it over a couple times in his hand before letting out a soft sigh.]
Only thing I can think of is an EMP took out all technology when we got sent here, your PDA being affected more than mine.
[It wouldn't explain why his candle had gone out, though. Nothing in this place made any damn sense.]
no subject
...an EMP?
[Sorry, Yukio. If you were speaking to Add, this conversation would be easier. Unfortunately, Noah has no idea what that word means, so he just stares blankly ahead.]
S-sorry, what's that?
no subject
An electromagnetic pulse. It's basically a burst of electromagnetic energy that destroys all nearby non-shielded electronic devices... such as cellphones, PDAs, refrigerators, generators, TVs, radios, cards... and so on within the area of effect.
[That would be the logical explanation, of course. There was nothing logical about this place.]
no subject
[Just sayin'!
But, back to what Noah actually wants to ask as he pockets his PDA again — there's really no sense on dwelling on this if an EMP (whatever the fuck that means) blew everything out, he's not going to fix it, he'll just ask Add later... m...maybe. He probably shouldn't, actually...
...
Anyway! Yukio doesn't need to hear about that.]
So... about the void. Normally when people get thrown into the void, they're pretty close to whoever winds up bleeding on the floor. It's usually not this big of a radius, and... you're not injured, right? [Just checking.] Normally, the world pitches and spins too, though, and it didn't this time. Not to me, anyway.
no subject
No, I'm fine.
[He frowns a bit, though. Noah was right. That didn't feel like how it typically would when they would be thrown into the Void. That just felt like blinking. One second they were in the school, the next they were here with nothing to show for it other than whatever had happened to the lights and the PDA.
Among other things.]
I didn't feel anything... Do we know how large the radius is this time?
[Because if the radius had expanded, then that can't be the only bad thing happening.]
no subject
[And also he'd been casting magic on the roof all night to entertain people and that got tiring as well, not because he dislikes anyone here but because it's a lot of spells cast to make pretty lights in a short amount of time.]
But if they were on the roof when the school turned—
[Noah's eyes get wide; in a panic, he spins on his heel and starts running off.]
They could be in danger! Half the school is that giant death-void, which means someone could've fallen in! Come on!
ignore the fire icon its the only one I have that he's shocked in orz
The moment Noah started running he was right on his heels, running after him. Whatever had happened to push them into the Other School is something that they could figure out after they make sure everyone was fine.
Which, all things considered, he was sure most people weren't.]
yukio like THE SCHOOL IS BURNING and noah's like "n-no?!"
Bursting through the front doors with Yukio at his heels reveals the state of disarray the entire world is in right about now. He veers toward the elevator only to find that the elevator is gone, replaced with that old stairwell, and that one of the flights is missing.]
It's different from the last time I was here. Usually, the elevator is just a gaping pit.
[At least there's a way up, but...]
...you've never been, right? To the void?
YEAH BUT IT COULD BE you never know Noah
[His training kicked in, and despite there being no demons to fight or danger of dying from being murdered— in the moment, anyway— his hand kept going to his holsters, which were hidden under his jacket. Might as well be ready for anything.
They didn't know anything. Someone could have done this on purpose after all.]
I'll follow you.
[Was he paranoid, and also looking around as if he was expecting someone or something to pop out of nowhere?
Yeah. It's fine.]
lets start a void fire and see if we wreck the game
...I'm way too familiar with this place, and I can tell you right now that everything isn't as it was.
[He makes his way up the stairs, mindful to watch out for bits of the floor that might be falling away. The rise to the second floor is in a worse state, bits of the stairs leading up to the third falling away as they make it to the second floor landing. Noah decides to pop out and investigate this floor first; they can parkour to the third in a few minutes.]
Careful. The floor's falling away over there. I don't want to know what'll happen if one of us gets our leg stuck...
it's exciting! fire!
That was a lie, but like sometimes you can only be so smart, ya know.]
Nothing good, probably.
[He's following after Noah, looking around carefully. Assuming Noah was right, this whole place had changed drastically since the last time Noah had been here so relying only on Noah's knowledge was probably not the best thing to do.]
no subject
[They're supposed to be here. They're always here; Noah knows them, not personally or anything like that, but because he knows how to duck around them, how to avoid getting his life sapped out by standing within their space, what paths they take like clockwork drones. Everything is empty, degraded...
3-B is gone, so that's great.]
This entire classroom is just a void now. [Thanks Noah, Yukio doesn't have eyes and obviously cannot see it.]
no subject
He grits his teeth, looking around and stepping closer to Noah as they walked. He had half a mind to reach out and grab his hand. He didn't. But he was thinking about it.]
It's spreading a lot faster than i would have thought.
