✽ At the stoke of midnight, something shatters on the ground floor in front of the bulletin board, and the entire school goes dark: all electricity gets shut off, all flames are snuffed out, and the sky is heavily overcast to hide the moon and the stars. The only source of light are the suncatchers purchased from the student store, but even those fully charged will start to dim and go out over the next three days.
✽ Nene, Hinata, Noah, Amami, and Komaeda will smell something burning, and if they pull out their PDAs, it is hot to the touch and the casing is cracked, like something had blown from the inside, and their PDAs will not be working. For everybody else, the screen flickers when they press their thumb to their PDAs, and then goes dark again. ...
✽ If anybody was inside the main school building at midnight, I am so sorry, and for everybody else who enters the building afterwards, please watch your step. The appearance and atmosphere of the school has changed to that of the "void school" and can not be reverted upon breaking a mirror. Please refer to the aforementioned link for details about the school.
✽ As of midnight, no npcs can be found inside the school, including the library ghost, the gardener, and the cats. If a character were near an npc at midnight, it would appear as if they'd disappeared into the shadows the moment the world went dark.

??? whenever you guys solve the void

✽ 01/10 marks the beginning of the final semester, and when npc students and faculty will return to school. Of the ~260 npc students enrolled at the start of December, only ~40 npc students return to school, with the other three quarters having their names crossed off the class roster in the locker area. In light of the rapidly shrinking student body, homerooms will be consolidated by year, creating a single class for each of the first, second, and third years.
✽ The countdown in front of the bulletin board has reached zero, and the glass tube appears to have shattered and bled out onto the floor, to nobody's surprise. The mess will be cleaned up by the end of the week, and in its place is a notice for the school trip taking place next month. Please see the toplevel below for more details.
✽ The science lab is now open. Add will probably elbow people out of the way getting here, but he gets dibs on the anatomical model: it is warm to the touch, and rather than being made of plastic, the skin, muscle, bones, other organs feel very much real. He thinks they might be. The rest of the room is set up like a typical research lab, with all the basic chemicals and equipment: a refrigerator, liquid nitrogen storage tank, sonicator, incubator, autoclave, laminar flow cabinet, mass spectrometer, and a high performance liquid chromatography system.
✽ It snows on and off and the sky remains overcast with no sign of the sun all month.

✽ Please give the temporary locations page a thorough read! The most noticeable changes aside from the usual void school appearance is the scattered void, lack of electricity in both the school and the dorm, and the ability to walk off campus. The setting will remain as is until the characters figure out how to revert the change, or on 01/10, whichever comes first.
✽ PDAs will be inoperable until fixed. Tech-savvy characters may realize that the PDAs are powered through inductive charging, and the first step to getting them (also electrical appliances and hot water) to work again is to locate the generator.
✽ All npcs will be ICly unavailable until we unvoid the school.

Natsume stands at the edge of the void knowing that Amami can't fly or escape on his own and he's probably dead now, will he go after Amami at all or is he on his own

anyway komaeda is gonna spend the next several minutes trying to explain the urgency of this to add, maybe, he'll go down to rescue them if he feels like it. what da natsumamis doin

just kidding, he falls and falls and falls and just about when he feels like he's going to pass out, he SLAMS into something rock hard before passing through it like water, the wind knocked out of him and the world turns on its head and he finds himself weightless for a moment

and then he's dropped on his head on wet concrete, sitting up and finding himself in a small room, about 10x10x10ft, solid concrete on all six sides, about an inch of slightly pink blood water at his feet, and also like 27 skeletons' worth of bones. If he doesn't get out of the way, Natsume's incoming to headbutt him

ow?? ow??? imagine investigating with a concussion and then being asked "amami be a bro and let natsume land on you" no he's had enough yogen and void related injuries for one lifetime he's rolling out of the way.

anyway, sick, more plant food. is there a generator down here. how's it look.

natsume wants to see where the water is coming from or going to.

For Amami's selfishness, both of them have concussions now

There is no generator! It's a room with bones and water and nothing else. The water doesn't seem to be coming from or going to anywhere; it's stagnant water when they aren't stepping around in it

natsume making a note to Never offer amami healing ever again tbh. he's going to move the bones around to see if there's anything under them or notable about them. ten seconds into this he will relatedly remember his manners or at least what he thinks clamor would want him to do and apologize to the bones and then just go back to moving them

meanwhile amami will go see if he can figure out where the warmth is coming from!

extra q: what is the ceiling. do we have a normal boring one or is it the void tunnel

It's a normal boring concrete ceiling, no sign of the void, as if their entrance were only one way. It's similarly room temperature as their drop down here, both the air and the water

There's nothing under the bones but concrete floor, and there's enough to put together 27 complete student-sized skeletons

Natsume wants to put the bones together so they can rest peacefully. Amami thinks that's nice but he's going to do that thing where you act like a freak and look for loose floor or wall or passages, and he'll even peek around with his adderstone because I don't think he knows Natsume has spirit sight. If he doesn't find anything he'll help Natsume with the rest of the bones.

Natsume is hard at work reassembling people, while Amami stands around playing with his rock. There are no loose floor or wall or passages as he feels around the 600 sqft (he can probably touch the roof if he makes a bone pile idk) of concrete

Natsume, on the other hand, will come to see that most of the skeletons are broken in some parts, notably the skull and limbs and ribs, and that the bones look somewhat burned, but not to the extent that they've been burning very hot for very long

before we send anything important down there, Add is gonna drop a random beaker down the hole to see what happens. maybe have someone observe from another void-connected spot to confirm that it "disappears".........

thanks it can get his arm below his shoulder because he rolled real bad, but did he get to see the acid fall through the ceiling before it hit him on the head also for a worse concussion and then got dumped on a skeleton according to chat

if he looked up in time to see how it happened he's getting acid on his face, that's the tradeoff

OKAY NO NOT REALLY a few minutes later he will reluctantly send down one (1) dynamo instead of more acid or the sodium bomb, this will help for realsies, maybe. also Amami gets one more shot at seeing what it looks like when something pops through the ceiling and will only maybe get blinded by a drone thwacking him in the face.

first order of business: can Dynamo still communicate with its other unit from down in the wet bone zone? or are Amami/Natsume/half of Dynamo on their own down here in terms of puzzle solving?
second order of business: checking out where the acid beaker went, so i guess its examining the skeleton. how's it doing.
third order of business: oh yeah amami and natsume are here, have a friendly beep glad ur not dead maybe

As discussed, Meng Yao is going to arrive a little late to this mess, technically before Dynamo is being dropped and right as the other drops acid into the hole which so happens to have Amami in it. Well, he has no idea what acid looks like in a beaker or whatever, but dropping liquid inside a glass container still doesn't go over well with him.

He'll look displeased before staging a rescue after the Dynamo is dropped in. Said rescue can be done by him doing his best to help Amami onto his flying sword ASAP first bc bf is priority. He's starting this off by sending it down first, or trying to do that, accounting for IC reactions/situation of course...he's still trying to figure out how or why any of this happened

And he is not a happy camper rn

Amami squints up at the ceiling like who tf threw that and then he sees Dynamo falling in, intangible black shadow at first and then whole and visible once it passes all the way through and bonks Amami on the head. If he looks up again, he'll see a sword coming to skewer him in the face, there really isn't a lot of space to dodge in a 10x10ft room. Anyways, overall for Dynamo, the sword, Meng Yao, etc, it looks the same as at the start of the year when npc students are able to exit doors but to player characters, it just looks like them turning into shadow and walking straight through solid door

Dynamo will be able to communicate with Dynamo2! the connection will seem kind of spotty, though. Dynamo will be able to relay that they're stuck in a wet bone jail with walls that not even Meng Yao's sword is able to cut through

Add notes all this down for science, and maybe recalls his birthday wish

...ideally, he'd have probably ensured the sword wouldn't go too far until Amami's position is/was confirmed by Dynamo or something look my character is a million times smarter than me and I'm stupid. I fully acknowledge this

but BEFORE WE DO THAT
- handwaves several minutes of IC discussion and add being like "i think we should drop a bomb on the wet bone room" but first we need to like... at least TRY to make sure we're not just murdering two people for no reason, ok
- Meng Yao is going to go down the hot void hole to the wet bone room, where he will then try using a transportation talisman to retrieve Amami. As per lumi: "he first makes a mini pathway somehow that connects point a to point b. they don't explain this in canon very well but i imagine it is like there's a spiritual teleportation path and the talisman activates that path to allow up to 1-2 people to travel through it. transportation talismans are usually used to travel much farther distances, and uhh point b is gonna be where he was standing before, while point a is himself & amami"
- Natsume is still stuck down here whether the above works or not dwbi we're getting to him
- Dynamo is also going to try checking the walls of the wet bone room again, less concerned with secret passages and mostly just trying to tell if the space they're in is buried underground in a physical sense or floating in the hot void (or if Helena would've been able to discern this before when she initially did her Important Area Ping, that works too)

- Natsume finishes putting together the skeletons
- Dynamo/Helena would be able to tell that the space they're in is floating in the hot void and isn't physically connected to them
