✽ At the stoke of midnight, something shatters on the ground floor in front of the bulletin board, and the entire school goes dark: all electricity gets shut off, all flames are snuffed out, and the sky is heavily overcast to hide the moon and the stars. The only source of light are the suncatchers purchased from the student store, but even those fully charged will start to dim and go out over the next three days.
✽ Nene, Hinata, Noah, Amami, and Komaeda will smell something burning, and if they pull out their PDAs, it is hot to the touch and the casing is cracked, like something had blown from the inside, and their PDAs will not be working. For everybody else, the screen flickers when they press their thumb to their PDAs, and then goes dark again. ...
✽ If anybody was inside the main school building at midnight, I am so sorry, and for everybody else who enters the building afterwards, please watch your step. The appearance and atmosphere of the school has changed to that of the "void school" and can not be reverted upon breaking a mirror. Please refer to the aforementioned link for details about the school.
✽ As of midnight, no npcs can be found inside the school, including the library ghost, the gardener, and the cats. If a character were near an npc at midnight, it would appear as if they'd disappeared into the shadows the moment the world went dark.

✽ 01/10 marks the beginning of the final semester, and when npc students and faculty will return to school. Of the ~260 npc students enrolled at the start of December, only ~40 npc students return to school, with the other three quarters having their names crossed off the class roster in the locker area. In light of the rapidly shrinking student body, homerooms will be consolidated by year, creating a single class for each of the first, second, and third years.
✽ The countdown in front of the bulletin board has reached zero, and the glass tube appears to have shattered and bled out onto the floor, to nobody's surprise. The mess will be cleaned up by the end of the week, and in its place is a notice for the school trip taking place next month. Please see the toplevel below for more details.
✽ The science lab is now open. Add will probably elbow people out of the way getting here, but he gets dibs on the anatomical model: it is warm to the touch, and rather than being made of plastic, the skin, muscle, bones, other organs feel very much real. He thinks they might be. The rest of the room is set up like a typical research lab, with all the basic chemicals and equipment: a refrigerator, liquid nitrogen storage tank, sonicator, incubator, autoclave, laminar flow cabinet, mass spectrometer, and a high performance liquid chromatography system.
✽ It snows on and off and the sky remains overcast with no sign of the sun all month.

✽ Please give the temporary locations page a thorough read! The most noticeable changes aside from the usual void school appearance is the scattered void, lack of electricity in both the school and the dorm, and the ability to walk off campus. The setting will remain as is until the characters figure out how to revert the change, or on 01/10, whichever comes first.
✽ PDAs will be inoperable until fixed. Tech-savvy characters may realize that the PDAs are powered through inductive charging, and the first step to getting them (also electrical appliances and hot water) to work again is to locate the generator.
✽ All npcs will be ICly unavailable until we unvoid the school.

[After all that investigating and meetings and the final semester coming in, Inaba is stressed to hell and back.

People attentive enough may see the bags under her eyes, how she doesn't seem to be walking so steadily, how she's completely pale in the face... yeah, she's definitely not doing so hot and it shows.

Of course, that's typical for her at this point but it's been growing worse and worse since the beginning of the year and it just seems to worsen. She tries to act normal when she's in front of others, however: smiling as necessary, reassuring people that she's fine when she's absolutely not, things like that.

But then -

It all eventually breaks, and on the first floor hallways, she just - collapses.

That's probably not good.]

[Noah's some distance off when Inaba goes down in front of him, so he's definitely not there to catch her in time. If she hits her head and gets a concussion, uh, oh no. That said, he springs into action immediately to try and reach out and get to her, skidding to a stop at her side.]

Inaba...?

[Is she conscious... does she respond?]

[She's barely conscious, but at the very least she doesn't seem to be physically hurt, just extremely pale in the face.

The good news is that she's very much breathing, though.]

[This reminds Noah a lot of... well, himself. She needs to not be dead in the hallway, though — someone's going to step on her if they're not paying attention — and so he mutters out a soft sorry and scoops her up with almost zero effort on his part.

First things first, there are beds in the nurse's office to lay in, so that's where he takes her and sets her down.]

I'm going to go get you some juice from the vending machine.

[—you know, in case she comes to at any moment. He'll be back in a jiffy with said juice, though, so when she wakes up she can hopefully try to drink something.]

[It's fine!!

But she'll probably be much more appreciative of the drink once she comes to, but for now she is basically out like a light for the time being.]

[The juice gets set on the nearest table, and Noah hovers nearby. If the nurse is here, he's being annoying by lingering in the doorway, otherwise he'll just pull up a chair and sketch while he waits. He's very careful when it comes to the wellbeing of friends, and he wants to make sure she's going to be alright before he bumbles away. Especially in this place, where someone could make an opportunity kill...

...Noah doesn't want to think about that further and just goes back to drawing cats in the interim.]

[ It's been all of two weeks, and Miyuki's already over it. With the amount of stuff that just popped up out of nowhere, on top of him trying to maintain some sense of normalcy on his end, he's getting to the end of his rope.

Right now though, he's heading to check on how the school's going before stumbling on--

Wait, is that-- ]

Inaba?

[ Shit shit shit...! ]

Inaba!

[ Miyuki's stomach turns a bit, fearing the worst instantly as he dashes over, kneeling over her and just determining straight away if there was any indication of a struggle. He's hesitant to do any more than just observe, so he just speaks. ]

Oi, Inaba! If you can hear me, give me a sign!

[dereban]

[Definitely no signs of a struggle. There's breathing, but she doesn't seem to be responding much to him...

There may be a groan or two, but it's not in response to his whole 'give me a sign' thing, though.]

[ She's breathing, so that's a plus. Still, she doesn't look like she's in the best condition. It's the first floor, so... the nurse's office? No, Inaba would probably protest that and he'd have to hear about it later. At the very least, he'll have to get her to a classroom. ]

I'll take you somewhere so you can catch your breath. [ A pause. ] Ah, is it okay if I move you a bit?

[dereban]

[Definitely not in the best condition. Well, she doesn't really respond or stir much, but there's a mumble of something there, although it's a little incomprehensible.]

[ --Well, shit, that's not any kind of confirmation that it's alright. She's conscious, and despite how grave this whole thing is... on the other hand. If she stirs and finds Miyuki having pulled her back to her feet slash carrying her slash giving her a piggy back ride... she's probably going to kick his ass.

...Inaba probably doesn't know magic or anything weird like that. However, he's very sure she'd be able to kick his ass.

Alright, new plan, new plan. Which is...

...to poke her cheek a couple times. ]

I ah... I can't do it. Sorry.

[ A pause, and he stops. ]

Haha... you know, I used to get the same way when I overworked myself. I'm surprised that I'm even conscious after missing so much sleep these days.

[ Okay, but this isn't about him. He shakes his head. ]

Sorry if I gave you too hard a time.

[dereban]

...s'okay...

[Inaba's voice is soft, but she manages to speak, even if it's with a groggy voice; whether she completely recognizes who she's talking to, or if she even is responding to his words is anybody's guess, though.]

[ Is it?

Miyuki can be emotionally dumb from time to time, but when it comes to stuff like this... it's not the first time he's heard someone close to sleepy speak to him like this. He figures he's in less trouble here than he is now, but...

...at this point, something's bugging him. ]

Inaba. Do you trust any of us? [ A beat. ] I won't get mad.

[dereban]

[If she wasn't paying attention now due to her tiredness, she sure is now, eyes snapping open. Sure, she's still exhausted and that shows in the redness of her eyes, the exhaustion in her voice but what overrides that is her inherent fear that she doesn't have the energy to even hide, much less obscure.]

W-Why would you ask that...?

[She doesn't answer the question. Instead, she just simply asks another.]

[ Why, indeed. It certainly bugs him, looking at somebody who's run themselves so into the ground that they can't stand. But with everything going on right now, there being a slight element of madness happening again, he felt it was good to clear the air of this now. ]

Because it's rare that I don't see you so guarded. You have good reason to be, all things considered.

I'm asking, because we need to get you some place where you can rest up, at least for a little while. But I know that that'll be impossible if you don't trust at least one of us to keep you safe.

[ Another beat, before-- ] If you don't trust me, that's fine. But I won't stand for leaving you here by yourself.

[dereban]

["Good reason to be," he says. A part of her wants to sigh a bit of relief--but she knows she really shouldn't, not when she knows that being honest here will be laying her heart bare...

She wanted to change, back then.

And she did, hadn't she? Before-]

[She doesn't say anything else. No excuses, nothing. She's so tired...]

[Finding unconscious bodies during murder investigations: he'd have two nickels now. Either way the context and familiar permeating smell of blood doesn't help the concern levels.]

I-Inaba?

[He's going down onto his knees and cautiously shaking her by the shoulder, looking up and around at the surroundings and back down at her. She's breathing, which is a good sign but... he's on high alert with the sound of it, some part of his brain neurotically and minutely checking for signs it's getting worse.]

[dereban]

[Yeah, she's not responding.

But thankfully, she doesn't seem to be looking any worse? But not necessarily any better, either.]

[notsosou]

[If he had any kind of strength, maybe he could pick her up and carry her to the nurse's office or something, or at least to a place where there isn't possibly a wolf on the loose, but he doesn't so...]

I-it's not safe. Wake up, Inaba.

[After that, some scanning of the surroundings and a slightly firmer shake he's going to clap above her ear, because that's the most plausible thing that came to mind.]

[dereban]

[The clap above her ear does do it at least; she's a little weary, but she does manage to slowly open her eyes--with a bit of a soft sound. Her sight is a little blurry, almost dizzying and she speaks with a low voice, exhaustion set in every syllable:]

Mm... who...?

[notsosou]

[He'll let out a small sigh of relief that that worked... he doesn't want to make too much noise, and his voice is a bit lowered because of it.]

It's Sou. You err... collapsed in the hallway.

[At least that's a pretty safe bet, looking at her. He'll give her a minute to get her bearings, keeping an ear and corner of the eye out still. It's strange being on the other side of this.]

There's been a wolf attack so... it's really not a good idea to sleep here right now.

[He's never seen her in the dorms and it's been long enough to have a fair idea of who has what room, so has she been sleeping in the school the entire time? Those months when it was mandatory weren't fun, so it's strange it's her choice (coming from the man who's commandeered an entire lockable room to himself).]

[dereban]

Ugh.

[She brings a hand to her chest, clasping to make sure her necklace is there. It is, and she sighs in relief before twisting her bangs in annoyance. There's still tiredness in her voice as she places a hand on the floor to slowly, and a bit wobbly, get back up on her feet.]

A wolf? Who the fuck-- no, that's not important. W-Who did it...?

[notsosou]

Who did what?

[At this point either Shin doesn't know about the council room murder or does... and finds it suspicious she'd immediately assume a 'who', even though it's standard for these sorts of murders. Either that, or did someone knock her out? It conjures up memories of exactly what impact with a frying pan feels like.

His hands hover a bit as she gets up, standing up himself, but it doesn't seem like she's going to immediately fall over, which is good because it would probably flatten him.]

You look like you're about to keel over... Even if you don't sleep in the dorms, you can still rest there, right?

[If it was still summer he'd have suggested the courtyard but nope.]

[dereban]

Ah, no--I mean, who got... hurt...?

[Killed, she actually means, but her words aren't coming to her properly; slipping her mind like sand through her fingers.]

S-Sorry, I'm fine. I mean, I - I don't want to be--

[Her voice shakes and she forces herself to slap herself awake, to try and steady herself and her words.]

I suppose...

[notsosou]

[Oh. He might have jumped to conclusions... just a little.]

Ah, we... don't know yet. [Because he doesn't know Noah and Kaede had identified the body fallen off the roof and were keeping it secret for the exact reason Shin should have.] There's an arm and someone fell from the roof... Sh-should you be really worrying about this right now?

[I mean, worrying about the wolf, yes, but... there's not much that can be done for the already dead right now. He doesn't know if they're anyone Inaba knows, either.]

There's already people investigating, so...

[He watches her slap herself awake... he'll do the courtesy of not commenting on he level of fine-ness. He knows he himself doesn't like it...]

They've probably got it handled already... we can leave them to it.

[He says, like someone who's not going to be doing some snooping around himself. He's got that sort of expectant body language of someone intending to go somewhere but waiting for someone else to come with.]
