For sans rival, we'll want to start with the meringue.

( it's something he notes as he gathers up the ingredients they'll need, setting them out one by one to make everything easier on the two of them. )

You'll need to use an electric mixer to get the right consistency, but it should only take about a minute. You'll be fine with that, right?

( if it weren't for sore arms and all that, he usually prefers to mix things himself, for one, but... well, that's how it is with this recipe. he's sure helena will have it handled, but if she's uncertain he can always lend a hand to make sure everything goes smoothly for her. )

Yes! I can do that.

[meringue means only a few things, but she makes sure she knows where the components are first. eggs, sugar, mixer, and with those located, she procures a bowl for it. separating egg whites is simple when done by hand - easier to avoid breaking yolks that way, and those get set aside too. I'm going to assume Amami told her how much sugar to measure out, so when she puts the mixer to the bowl, she can set her mind to mixing and counting steadily to a minute. then, he can check the progress.]

( oh, me not reading these recipes thoroughly, it's fine. at a minute, amami will start pouring the sugar, letting her know so that she can continue on... but that only takes another couple minutes. hopefully helena has the time down though — if not, amami's happy to bake some more with her until she does. for this round, though? )

Looks good so far. Next we want to add the vanilla and some of the cashews. We're going to fold them in with the spatula, and the rest can go in two more parts.

[listen we can make up our own recipes...anyway Amami probably can hear Helena counting the seconds under her breath as they mix and fold to get everything evenly distributed in their meringue, until vanilla and nuts are all incorporated and it's put into a bag for piping because I totally looked ahead on the internet for what we're supposed to do.]

Are we going to put the meringue on the top?
